Oil change opinions is vast, but synthetic oil is the only way to go ESPECIALLY if you’re going 10,000 miles on an oil change. I change mine every 5,000 miles. Oil is pretty dirty at that point. I recommend changing your trans fluid and filter at 30,000 miles. There’s a lot of seals in that 10R trans and if those seals, even one seal goes bad shifting issues will result. If you do this this trans will last a long time. The type of fluid change I recommend just drain whats in the pan and refill with fresh. I do not like power flushing trans fluid. Anyway nice review and I hope you have many miles of enjoyment.
Thanks for the advice! I’m might go with Fully syn oil next time. Yeah I had a dodge ram and had the transmission flushed it completely ruined it, never again. Lol
All that is correct. Trans @ 30k if towing or otherwise heavy work. 50k for trans and rear differential for normal commute/truck usage. OEM fluid in the trans, anything that meets spec will work in the rear diff. As mentioned 5k oil changes, 5w20 in the colder half year, and 5w30 in the warmer half year. That truck will last a very long time.
I bought the 2022 F 150 XL regular cab long bed. I currently have 2500 miles on it and I love it! I talked the dealer into putting in a spray-in bed liner. I would suggest you have the oil changed every 5000 miles and not 10k for it to last longer, regardless of oil type. Full synthetic or synthetic blend. Oil is cheap compared to a new engine!
Purchased this exact truck 3 days ago but red , beautiful! Originally a “Ram only “ type person but 3 past few Rams had hard time mechanically unfortunately. Was without vehicle due to Ram single cab I had giving out , went to dealership looking for a Ram single cab and turns out they sold out last 1 so sales guy showed me this red single cab ford f150 like this video and the test drive was smooth af , not all the bells and whistles but nice touch screen and spacious inside . Overall I feel was a great purchase and different from what I was into . Worth it !
*Great video. I was looking into one of these. I was wondering what the day to day mpg was. I want to be able to tow a car but and also get good gas milage if i daily drive it . I only tow once or twice a year . Its flat where i live so i think it would be fine.*
I wouldn’t say my truck is slow or weak. 290 hp it has plenty of power for driving. I don’t tow anything. Now versus a V-8 5.0 it’s definitely slower than that or a turbo charged motor. I wouldn’t expect to compete with those if you want power like that. I don’t race my truck at all. It has plenty for me. I don’t regret buying this one at all very happy.
I always wanted a 4x4 for driving on the beach so that’s one for sure. The even larger stereo/ Navigation screen would be nice like the XLTs have. Other than factory options I’d like to have the front end leveled, and the upgraded head lights. Sounds like a very nice gift, Congrats to him!
@@moreadventure9000 I would also like to get a 4x4 for the exact same reason. I just don’t go to the beach enough and don’t ever go off road enough to justify the extra expense in maintenance and fuel. Even the base XL in 2022 now come standard with the 8” sync 4 system if I’m not mistaken. The price of the new trucks are beyond ridiculous but I want my son to have a safe worry free transportation experience with full factory warranty while he attends college.
Thanks for to comment! This is a stock suspension, the back is higher for heavy loads more of a work truck. When I first got it I wasn’t going’s level it but now I’m thinking I may give the front a small 2 inch lift to make it a little more level.
@ 3:51 your pointing to washer fluid and said you would give you 10 HP, what the heck are you talking about? It's washer fluid...lol. I like your new mats too.
Thanks! This truck as seen is all factory, this bigger screen is new in this year model. I actually forgot the actual bed size it very well may be 6.5 but I’ll update that info on the next video, I’m going to add strobing brake light review video soon.
Thanks! I have not, but seat covers do sound like a good idea. Maybe I will look more into that! I just can’t stand the ones that slide around it’s been years since I ever owned any, maybe the quality has improved in that time.
Bought my space white 5.0 4x4 for 45k msrp. Xlt traded it in cause I lowered it and built a truck I didn't like 😂. Technically I didn't like the color either but RCSB trucks are so hard to come by these days without ordering them. Still on the look out for a race red and then I'll lift it like I should've done
@@moreadventure9000 I still have the platinum tail lights and headlights and bigger screen in hopes of finding one in the future and putting in the higher trim level things. I never understood why they don't let you option out single cabs .
Love the truck honestly to help you out with fuel economy and power get a K&N air filter!! Guaranteed to a million miles!! Also the first cleaning is at 50k miles! I have it in my Mercury Grand Marquis and I love it.
That’s a good idea! I have been thinking about getting a K&N filter. I bet that Grand Marquis is breathing easy now. If I had money I’d tell you what I’d do, I’d go downtown and buy a Mercury or two, wait a second that sounds like a song. 🤔
@@moreadventure9000 honestly this might sound crazy I had a $385 car payment for a Kia forte. Which I hated I sold my car to a local car dealership and made a few thousand dollars profit. K&N is a scam. They're pretty much the Fram of air filters. There have been multiple tests showing they pass considerably more dirt than OEM filters. How do you think they magically increase power? You might as well just use a window screen as an air filter. You're sacrificing engine longevity for a tiny bump in power. Don't waste your money.
@@moreadventure9000 would also have to be right hand drive converter plus taxes . You can buy f150 here from ford but there XLT duelcabs with the v8 engine , generally cost is around $130,000 plus . I’d be happy with your exact model just duelcab and 4wd

Yeah I may have to make an adjustment. Bed liner is a good idea 🤔
Change your oil more often and it’ll pay off down the road. Rotate tire with more frequent oil changes and tires will last longer as well.
Every 5K instead.

Yes Sir thanks!
Awesome video of your fingers waving about! Keep up the good work.
Thanks !
Thanks for this update. I hope you keep updating us as you put more miles on it.
Nice truck 👍
Thanks!
Love those basic trucks, good to see some folks still do too! What's the milage you get? Also is it a 2wd or 4x4 rig?
2wd I get about 23mpg on the hwy and 19 in town. I have about 37,000 miles now everything is still running good 👍

Nice truck, did you install drop shackles or is it a stock suspension ? It looks a bit leveled in the rear

Good God, 10,000 miles? That’s wild.
What psi are you running in your tires?
20 mpg is that the best it can do?
Maybe 23 if you drive real slow
It reminds me of my daughters pickup except hers is blue and has the 5.0 motor and she had twin turbos installed.
Nice! that sounds like a lot of power
install BED RUG in the bed. You'll be glad you did. Way better than spray in bedliner...

I wish I had gotten that truck and not my 2021 limited and a $1,973 truck note
I bet that limited is nice though

Do you have a radio upgrade in this?

going to wait til the last year these are ever made ... as in the last year with an internal combustion engine ...
Sounds like a plan! 👍

Do the oil at 5-7 k.
I dumped the first oil after 2K. Went straight to 10w-30.
Nice, how many miles do you have now? Any modifications?
Good video. The background music throughout the video was really annoying, distracting, and for me, detracted from the video itself
Husky rear wheel liners and WeatherTech mud flaps are great. Have them on my 22 150 reg cab...
Thanks I may get the wheel liners next.
I recognize Hwy 6.
🤣 yup
Recorded horizontally:)
I try to film horizontally for longer videos and vertical for shorts🤠 This video was shot on iPhone 13 Pro

2 seconds to get on gear. That doesn't sound right.
Im not sure why it does that, it is unusual, but I’m not too worried about it. It shouldn’t cause any problems.
