Btw, hearing a review from a Ford mechanic point of view, pointing out all the parts of the engine, good or bad aspects and all the other mechanical ins and outs is a powerful review! You have an angle most others cannot provide!
Nice. So many trucks now are loaded up with the biggest and baddest engines as possible, turbos, hybrids, etc. The biggest cabs as possible, the most tech we can cram in there, every part of the dash is a screen, the biggest wheels and tires, the heaviest tow packages possible, it goes on and on. Then we wonder why trucks are $80k, and cost so much to fix. This is what I would call a normal truck, with a price tag that someone who works for a living can handle. It's really breath of fresh air.
Clean looking truck. I can appreciate the space under the hood, which makes common maintenance items easier and faster to perform. A high point, the water pump is not driven by the timing chain!

The 3.3L is a great engine that will suit most people's needs! Got a question for you Boss! Does the 3.3L have both port and direct fuel injections or just direct injection only? Thanks!
You have to understand there's also timing components that have to have certain amount of oil flow and if you go too much it'll be restricted and if you go to little it won't work properly so they've tested this with specific motor oils and yes a big part of it is fuel mileage
3.3 L V6 is a very underrated engine. HP @290 is fine...just needs a bump up in torque to about 305 lbs/ft of torque as it can struggle a little in conditions that require a little more power. Mechanic friend of mine claims that the 3.3 V6 is actually a Mazda 3.3 v6 that Ford acquired the rights to back when Mazda and Ford had a partnership. Anyone know if that's true?
Assist pump for heater before tstat fully opens. The reverse flow (heads then block) with tstat on lower hose on several makes use a pump like that. Then you have hybrids with component and battery cooling that have them. Some are hidden and you'd never know it was on vehicle.
Is that a column shifter I see? I had a 2010 F150 4.6l 3v fx2 which has similar power to the 3.3 v6.👍 I wonder how much better mileage is on the 6. I'll have to google it. F150's IMO are the best looking trucks out there, inside and out and the most reliable.

@@freedomisntfree_44 They need to drop an American version of the Aussie straight six Barra. I’d buy that crate engine.
What package is that or code to get a work truck with a console?
What are the pockets or bulges for in the intake tubes on the F150s? I have always wondered
Typically it's to reduce intake noise and to add to extra plenum volume
Nice truck!!!
Which automatic transmission is behind 3.3L V6?
10 speed
2018-20 6 speed
2021 and newer is a 10 speed.
nice
I like needing the key to start.
That's the one I'd buy!
What is the main reason for the oil be in 5W 20. Is it just for the gas mileage
You have to understand there's also timing components that have to have certain amount of oil flow and if you go too much it'll be restricted and if you go to little it won't work properly so they've tested this with specific motor oils and yes a big part of it is fuel mileage
These are nice
I recently replaced an engine in 2018 3.3l. Was a very easy job even without the means to recover the r1234yf.
Why did it need to get replaced? I own one that's why I'm curious 🤙
@@Estebizle had a hole in a piston
3.3 L V6 is a very underrated engine. HP @290 is fine...just needs a bump up in torque to about 305 lbs/ft of torque as it can struggle a little in conditions that require a little more power. Mechanic friend of mine claims that the 3.3 V6 is actually a Mazda 3.3 v6 that Ford acquired the rights to back when Mazda and Ford had a partnership. Anyone know if that's true?
I'd like to know what the gas mileage is expected to be.
@Saintsandsin With what you say, probably not.
Do the Ecoboost engines have an external water pump?
Assist pump for heater before tstat fully opens. The reverse flow (heads then block) with tstat on lower hose on several makes use a pump like that. Then you have hybrids with component and battery cooling that have them. Some are hidden and you'd never know it was on vehicle.
Yes
All the truck engine ecoboost do but not all the SUV vehicles!
Is the 5/20 oil just regular oil or synthetic ?
Semi Synthetic
Nice for an XL!
Simple six. Far better than Chevy base four cylinder turbo.
I wishel ford put that engine in mid trim , I'm a v8 guy, but I actually like that 3.3
Please show how to prevent thieves from twisting driver door lock. Remove lock? Jimmy Jammer kit? Install passenger side handle upside down on drivers side? Please help. This is a giant problem.
No idea yet, any videos on it?
@@FordBossMe Some on the Jimmy Jammer kit. Some on flipping passenger handle. (It has no hole for the lock so when you remove the drivers lock there isn’t an empty hole) But every solution so far costs around $500. Kids are running around the neighborhoods wrecking Ford doors.
