Austin - I really liked this video! It’s never too late to tell everybody that you want to tell them about your life. They may think you don’t want to talk with them because you made the video instead of telling them face-to-face. If they are people who may be uncomfortable about asking about what you have been up to, they might be relieved to hear you start telling them about your life. Good luck!
Your story resonated with me, Austin. I've been out for a little over a year now, and my family really hasn't discussed my being gay with me either. Thank you for sharing this story with us! It takes so much courage to come out. It takes so much more to share your story with others, let alone put it online where others can see.
Haha this vid was pretty all over the place, but I love that 10 seconds in you were talking about masturbation, I was absolutely not expecting that. I don't think there's anything wrong with making a RUclips vid coming out. I also don't think it's a requirement you have to sit down and tell every single person you know. The fact that your family isn't asking you about your personal life isn't necessarily because you didn't come out to them individually, it sounds like maybe they just don't want to intrude? Maybe they're not comfortable with it? Maybe it's just not a big deal to anyone? I sense a little sadness from you about it though, I hope I'm wrong. There's no rule book about coming out, everyone has a different experience. Thanks for sharing your story, it was fun to listen to and that stuff with Patrick towards the end was so cute. You two are everything goals, anytime you are together it makes people smile! Looking forward to his as well!
I literally am going to come out to my parents later today, thank you your advice is really helpful EDIT: They told me to think about it, but I know I 100% am 🏳️🌈:)
Thank you for sharing your story, I think you are very brave. I'm a straight married mom that wishes equality for all people around the world, I think we live in a time where genders and labels should not matter to anybody anymore, respect is the key for a better world. If you don't do harm to anyone, no one should care whether you like guys, girls, both or none. Just be happy with who you are, I'm pretty sure you are 💕
Great video. So proud of the way you handled your family and stood up for yourself. I stsrted watching your videos and am now following you and Patrick. Love you both.
I love your approach! BF tag and then Mom calls, and then pushes you to call family, and you stand your ground! So strong! I do disagree though, it's not cowardly to come out this way. I think many of us have a similar experience that out families don't ask much about our coming out. I was also a bit disappointed that I didn't get much in the way of questions. I think it's the fear of the worst, and I was almost sad when it was a non-event. You're all good! Much love!
Thank you for sharing this, Austin. Your honesty and integrity shine through. And you both make things so entertaining! Tbh I searched the bf tag afterwards and was really surprised because I knew you were familiar when I started watching your channel but could never put my finger on why 😊 You boys really are my fav vlogging duo. Always look forward to your content and am looking forward to Patrick 's story next 😆
Omg I didn’t realise that you guys only had 17k subscribers, the whole time I’ve been subscribed! Your videos are so well made and you’re so entertaining to watch, it’s crazy to me that you haven’t got like 1m subscribers! ❤️
Wow...Great video. Your honesty is refreshing, and the stories you shared are very relatable. Awesome job! Great advice too. I know this video will help a lot of young people. You should be very proud of this video. Looking forward to hearing more stories.
Your so strong and i wanna thank you for sharing something so personal... But as Bts says Love yourself... And as there new album theme FACE YOURSELF.... Happy valentines day Austin
Great video. Love your eyes, amazing. Found your channel from The Coyle Twins. I never even thought about being gay until I fell instantly in love with one guy at 15 (he was 17). I still thought I liked girls and just him. Coming out was easy. Mum came into my room to change the towels in the bathroom and found me sleeping in bed with my boyfriend (who was living with us as an international student) and all she said was 'do I need to change the sheets on both of your beds now or just this one twice as often?'. I chose the latter. And that was it. All my Dad said was 'so does your boyfriend like fishing?' (because I don't), I said no and he said bugger (because he wanted someone to go fishing with, now they go fishing). It turns out he likes fishing, ewwww.
Love you buddy, but really, regardless of if you came out in person or a video or whatever, it is up to your family to make the effort to be involved in your life. If you ask how they are doing, they can do the same. Its been years, they are adults, they can always make the effort.
Yeah love that sweatshirt Patrick, cant Wait to see ur coming out story too 🤗 And Austin you made a very great throughout coming out story, I like ur advice at the end ! 😘
Honestly my bestfriend takes me to church every Sunday im not even religious and she told me how she feels about gay people we've been friends for 2 years now I haven't told her and if she doesn't except me then I'll give her time I'm not giving up on a friendship that close
I literally love you guys soooo much. You are such amazing inspiring people. Who have helped me a lot I came out to my mum after watching this thank you x
This was the best coming out video i’ve ever seen. Also, I thought I was sexually into guys and romantically into girls too!!!!! until I had a boyfriend and I was like oh
Last Saturday i watched Love simon with 2 of my older sisters and my older brother and i loved it so much but afterwards at home i was thinking how the main character is going to have a great life and has love and nobody is against him that matters so it made me quite sad and my family noticed,i was quite sad to know my mum wouldn’t accept me, the next morning I was so sad i was crying and my mum was asking me why i was sad and she was getting quite worried so I eventually gathered up the courage to tell her im gay. She still loves me but she doesn’t agree with it because of religion and stuff so she isn’t letting me be with a guy and she thinks i can turn straight with prayer and stuff but i know who i am and now i am just kind of sad, maybe someday if i find a great guy then he can make me forget that there are close people who don’t accept me.(i have told my brother and he is more on the “i still see you as i always have” side and i still have 4 sisters and a dad to tell when i’m ready, wish me luck) Update: i have told two sisters and they love and accept me for who i am and we just have a chat if I’m feeling a little down.(This would probably be because my mum would do something insensitive like put on a show about gays getting stoned, hopefully she can be a bit more “considerate”)

If you cannot come out in your teens, graduate from school, get a job, and become independent, then come out. But PLEASE don't do as I did and wait until you are almost 50. I would set 22 as a goal for everyone who lives in the United States.
Austin And Patrick .....I just fell upon your page and you boys are adorable! Austin baby doll, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU and the way you handled your coming out story .....very entertaining and very true.....Ive been out for so many years baby I forgot how many years ago it was...lol...all I can say boys is to live the life you were meant to with no regret! NEVER listen to haters because they're going to hate and lovers are going to love.....dont let being gay define who you are because you boys are SO much more than that! If you just live your lives being kind to others, live your BEST life always! Always remember..."To thine own self be true." Go out and conquer the world boys and enjoy yourselves. XOXOXOXOX Mama Steve♥️♥️♥️😊😊🎵🎶🎼
Great video, humerous, honest and straight forward with just enough detail to make it relatable without being ...err .. too much, haha. I came out much later in life but your advice is very sound. I think possibly ruling people out of your life if they have a problem with the gay thing may not often be neccessary, but having it in your armour of certainty about your identity may be a useful stance of last resort which one can and should be prepared to use in dire circumstances. Agree very much with being safe emotionally and financially and taking things in your own time. it is a head thing about being absolutely sure of yourself and banishing any shame or guilt. Don;t be in a rush to get into a relationship. There are lots of guys who might be right, take your time choosing ,,, or not, lots of valid ways to live a life nowadays. Good fortune, Austin. Some guy is going to be very lucky to have you love them one day
I love your coming out video ! I am a gay man and I am so happy to be gay ! I have helped so many people who are struggling being gay or dealing with coming out !
This is a very important history, so many gay people think his orientation are wrong, the religion have a very significant role in the acceptance (regards from Chile and y wanna a spanish video!)
Nice story about coming out. I never saw that video and I don't think I would want to. Hey it's The beginning of April and it's really nice out Spring has come , Philadelphia area, Have an awesome weekend!!!!
For the record, your previous Coming Out video isn't nearly as cringe as you think it is. Matter of fact, I found it to be honest and real. You expressed many of my own thoughts with eloquence. The fact that we even HAVE to "come out" is infuriating. Thanks for both videos!
Not the switching of hands 🤣 I feel you on the desperation. My desperation led me to sleep with a few girls and one got pregnant, she decided to have an abortion and I came out. I came out to my parents about 5 more years later. I also was a military brat so I had to come out 3 times because we kept moving. Ugh. But by the 3rd time I just introduced myself to the class with my name and that I was gay. Lol I think the shock value and me just being confident in it kind of kept me from getting bullied like the previous times.
Coming out was your own choice to make. You did it the way you felt comfortable doing it and that is OK. Congrats for doing it, it is a sign of integrity.
You spent a couple of years . . . . . . Doing what . . . . .? LoL. I was waiting for that. Do you have a hickie on your neck? Omg, Austin, I love the serious side of you! Wow! We never get to see this! Link to your coming out video? Austin, only worthy inquires. Means, only those, like your step mom, can handle your story. Be You! Don’t worry about everyone else’s feelings. You are not responsible for their feelings. Great video! Thoroughly enjoyed!
I'm so sorry you felt like that as a young man. Stop beating yourself up it's easy to look back and see how things didn't work or did work. Ask them if they have any questions open that door.
Recently discovered your channel, guys! And I’m finding myself watching all the videos! I’m now 30 and I still haven’t been able to actually “come out”... pretty shocking! Cowardly maybe but just not ready and as you say”I’m waiting for a reason to do it” If you guys do ever come to the UK, let me know!🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😘
Omg this is what we gonna do. A 2 part video of how we came out and what we went through. The start was so cute and I loved this! We are gonna do the same. And I'm so nervous because we never really spoke about how we came out or anything to anyone. So should be interesting.
Just to play a bit of a "devil's advocate" here, Austin, since you say that you put up a bit of a wall, and that you regret being too impersonal with some of your family, I'd suggest that if you want them to feel comfortable talking to you, it might not be a bad idea to sit down with them, one-on-one, and tell them what you've said here. Let them know that you'd welcome their questions and interest in your life. I may well be that they do have questions but are nervous about asking you...put them at ease. Great advice and a great story!
This story is kinda the same as mine.. but i havent came out to my family only my sister and mother. But im so happy that your come out was happy and not a sad story.. im still not ready to come out to my grandparents and father.. Love you guys!!
Also, I apologize for watching the videos you told me not to (although I dont find them too cringy), and a certain person who's username is **** ******* is now persona non grata. Kudos btw on the color blue analogy. There are layers there ;)
Just one question: how did your mom see the boyfriend tag so fast? Was she looking, at that moment for videos of you or did she stumble across it looking for boyfriends tags or what? Is she always on RUclips looking at videos? Just curious on how she came across the video and how she came across it so fast.
Actually I was making some RUclips videos around that time and it just so happened that she was watching one of my videos and saw the boyfriend tag in the suggested videos.
Although my country is considered homophobic, our society is WAY ahead and I'm so greatful for that :) My friends love me and 5 other people came out to me as well. Infact the government might even decriminalize homosexuality altogether this year! In the end, don't judge your country based on what the internet says. Quick tip :D
what if I wanted to tell my best friend I was gay, how would I do it? like over the phone or in person or a letter or what. i'm really nervous and I don't know how she'll respond
Austin - I really liked this video! It’s never too late to tell everybody that you want to tell them about your life. If they are people who may be uncomfortable about asking about what you have been up to, they might be relieved to hear you start telling them about your life. Good luck!
0:38 Not the singing response 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love how everyone's coming out is so different to each other and sometimes they're just the best stories
Aww. This is beautiful. I just love people who feel so comfortable sharing their stories with the world. Iiiii support 🏳️🌈
“And that’s okay cause I don’t have any boys in my life” 😂😂😂 omfg same
bahaha same
Your story resonated with me, Austin. I've been out for a little over a year now, and my family really hasn't discussed my being gay with me either.
Thank you for sharing this story with us! It takes so much courage to come out. It takes so much more to share your story with others, let alone put it online where others can see.
Loved your story, made me smile. Thanks for sharing it. So proud of you.
Honestly, your story is so much easier that mine. I am a little envious. Thank you for sharing!!!

Austin looks so handsome in side profile as well as when facing the camera. I like when he turns and gazes at Patrick.

That was honestly the sweetest thing I've read.
Well said.
I came out as trans this year to my friends
Very cool. You are special. You are you. Hugs from Minneapolis, MN.
Great video. So proud of the way you handled your family and stood up for yourself. I stsrted watching your videos and am now following you and Patrick. Love you both.
Excellent work here, Austin. Thank you. You took a very heavy subject and managed to keep it light and that's not easily done. Love you, big guy! 💝
I love your approach! BF tag and then Mom calls, and then pushes you to call family, and you stand your ground! So strong!

What a great video, Austin. One of the best on this subject I’ve ever seen. Love you and Patrick to bits!
Thanks David!!
Thanks for telling your story! I understand how revealing that must have been for you.
Thank you for being you! You're great!

You do an amazing job influencing people! I love you so much. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
This is so nice to watch and realise that there were people that went through the exact same thing as me
"I'm going to go watch doctor who." I love doctor who!!
Did you really expect me not to go find your old "Boyfriend Tag" video after you said "don't go look at it" ? Yeah right........❤️
I would like to know if you found it and if so, please provide a link, I need to see it
Great story! You're a good storyteller!

Absolutely adorable! Happy Valentine's Day!!
Awww Austin is just too cute, es muy guapo 💙
She still loves me but she doesn’t agree with it because of religion and stuff so she isn’t letting me be with a guy and she thinks i can turn straight with prayer and stuff but i know who i am and now i am just kind of sad, maybe someday if i find a great guy then he can make me forget that there are close people who don’t accept me.(i have told my brother and he is more on the “i still see you as i always have” side and i still have 4 sisters and a dad to tell when i’m ready, wish me luck)
Update: i have told two sisters and they love and accept me for who i am and we just have a chat if I’m feeling a little down.(This would probably be because my mum would do something insensitive like put on a show about gays getting stoned, hopefully she can be a bit more “considerate”)
Thanks for sharing your story! I can see you both are amazing people! Virtual hug from me to you! 😘
I LOVE DOCTOR WHO
The most accurate depiction of coming out I have ever seen portrayed was Season 3 of Skam. It was guided by interviews with young people and a gay mental health professional.
It's a Norwegian show you can find it subbed on Dailymotion. www.dailymotion.com/shametv/videos They are labeled oddly 1.10 is the first episode of season 3. You will probably cry.
You’re my favorite! Thanks for this. ❤️
Love you Austin.. Thanks for being the awesome you that you are
If you cannot come out in your teens, graduate from school, get a job, and become independent, then come out. But PLEASE don't do as I did and wait until you are almost 50. I would set 22 as a goal for everyone who lives in the United States.

Your coming out video is not cheesy! It was the first video I ever saw of you and I still watch it sometimes. It had a big effect on me.
Some guy is going to be very lucky to have you love them one day
I'm shooketh this story is like my life
i so love your attitude in this, it's like the real austin was talking to me. thanks for that.

Good on you, my friend - nuff said :}
I love your coming out video ! I am a gay man and I am so happy to be gay ! I have helped so many people who are struggling being gay or dealing with coming out !

I absolutely loved listening to you. You seem like a great person to know. You are fantastic! Hugs from Minneapolis.
Thanks for this video!! LOVE IT
OMG the thing about all your friend group coming out as gay or bisexual. the exact thing happened to me
Coming out was your own choice to make. You did it the way you felt comfortable doing it and that is OK. Congrats for doing it, it is a sign of integrity.
Very strong man you are very brave the way you came out loved this video ❤️❤️❤️

I'm just waiting for that 1 comment that says "I'm eleven." 😂
The Saint I’m 11 so stfu -vine
I can relate to almost all of this video
I loved Patrick's Mickey sweater
All the best for you. Great video. Please take a huge virtual hug. Stay healthy stay save. Enjoy life no matter what!
I just want to jump on the first plane to America just to give you cuddles.
Anyone else notice that the troll blue milk is lurking😂😂😂?
Loved this austin
Just to play a bit of a "devil's advocate" here, Austin, since you say that you put up a bit of a wall, and that you regret being too impersonal with some of your family, I'd suggest that if you want them to feel comfortable talking to you, it might not be a bad idea to sit down with them, one-on-one, and tell them what you've said here. Let them know that you'd welcome their questions and interest in your life. I may well be that they do have questions but are nervous about asking you...put them at ease. Great advice and a great story!
And you’re 100% right. I had the same thoughts while I was making this video. And I absolutely will. 🏳️🌈❤️
And, if you're comfortable doing it, there's another idea of a follow-up video 😏 What it's like, doing a "second coming-out"...sounds almost biblical!

And the award for worst burn in history goes to....👆
I made my coming out very personal, and my family still don’t ask me anything. It’s like they didn’t wanna know anything about me
Although my country is considered homophobic, our society is WAY ahead and I'm so greatful for that :)
My friends love me and 5 other people came out to me as well.
You seem like such a beautiful person. Love the frankness :P
