As a filthy casual that doesn't have time to tweak/learn all the different setups, what I'd like to see is these being made public, in-game, or at least the top couple of drivers in each car, on each track. I shouldn't have to spend 24/7 on a super nerdy discord channel, or be best mates with the Max to have fun (stand a chance of being vaguely competitive) in a given race.
In AMS2 you can import the record setups. Could be nice. But can also take a bit away. What's the reason to tune your own setup when you can just download the "best"?
Yeah in GT Legends there was a slider to make the car have more oversteer or understeer, like you were a driver telling your crew what you wanted. There was also a garage where you could tweak it all yourself if you wanted to. And you could download set-ups that people uploaded, in-game.

This is my dream right now, and it's somewhat looking like some of it might be happening, here me out. I've been wanting a game more suited to single player, car passion, culture, cruising, customising, tuning more akin to Test Drive Unlimited but all based around a proper sim handling system. Could we be getting the areas around Nordschliefe? Can we cruise openly in free roam between tuning workshops and garages scattered around the Nordschliefe? We can pay to run laps on the Nordschliefe at a cost whenever we want, with other players live, with time trials etc. We have our own garage around the outskirts of the Nordschliefe where we collect and tune cars. From there we get invitations from various events, pro drives, championships etc. My goodness, just thinking of all this is really getting me excited. That right there is a game for "petrolheads".
