Hi Tom and thanks so much :-) I'm trying to cobble together all of the tunes I use for the demos for a Christmas Special. I'll let you into a secret - I've just spent 3 bloody hours recording the last three tunes and forgot to plug the audio line into the sodding camera! Doh! Hahahahahahaha!
Hi Gary, Great playing by the way, plus a superb review of this underrated (before now) guitar and certainly tapped into my love of the Westfield Brand - I commented on a review you did on the Westfield E4500 last March as I have one of those too as I mentioned in that post. However, get this for coincidence, after seeing your review last week of this Westfield E1000 - I went searching to add to my Westfield collection and found 1 for sale exactly the same colour style and set up as you have in this video, and this one was located in Blackpool !! Can you see where this is going yet ? Anyway - the stars aligned I bought the guitar and as I was visiting a family member who is in a Blackpool Hospital I met up and collected the guitar in Blackpool. Whilst I was waiting for "Bob" to arrived at our meeting point, I re-read the sellers post and low and behold the link was to this review, to say I was stunned was an understatement. I am now the owner of this guitar in your review and super delighted at the set-up you have undertaken and the sound is stunning too. What a blooming but delightful coincidence and I am one happy Chappy ! Thanks to both yourself for the set up and to Bob for allowing me to purchase this to add to my collection, it will not go anywhere as I mentioned I have a fondness of Westfield Guitars it will sit proudly next to its E4500 brother also in Black and played in due course.
Hi Dennis :-) That's a lovely story and I'm so happy that you've got the guitar! It really is a corker and, as you say, the Westfield brand is vastly underrated. I'm amazed that they went to the wall after such a meteoric rise. I'm always on the lookout for these and any information I can garner. The quality brands I'm currently interested in other than Westfileds are Rally and Blundell - especially Blundell. Thanks so much for watching and sharing. Kind regards, Gary :-)
Hi Gary, I always think it's good to see a little wear on a guitar of that age. Any instrument with a little wear in the right places means that it was played regularly so someone must have enjoyed playing it. It's good to hear it hold it's tuning after a bit of wiggle stick use with what I presume are new strings. Something like this would be all the Strat that I'd ever need.
Hi Rod :-) I agree with that - if it has signs of use it must've been fun to play! You can still pick these up for a decent price and anyone will work on them. You could have a go yourself - it'd be a fun project! Cheers, Gary :-)
Thanks Gary for an enlightening demo. It appears that the necks on these must be made to a good standard (very important) to get a nice playing action, and to play this well with just a basic setup. 👍
Hi Alan :-) Yes, I was lucky with this one. I think it depends on how they've been stored. It's usually changes in climactic conditions that'll create a need for fretwork. Obviously it can also be from a rough build but this one was a cracker! Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi David :-) Thanks for noticing my fondness for using a matching strap hahahahaha. It's so puzzling why Westfield folded. Their guitars were a cut above and very keenly priced. Luckily, there's still plenty out there and they're usually found at bargain prices. It's only a matter of time before the word gets out! Cheers, Gary :-)
I've had a good few Westfields pass through my hands they were all over the place early 2000s...I particularly remember the Black Explorer and Sunburst Telecaster i had those were good guitars...This one sounds the bizzness...
Hi Stevie :-) I like Westfields. Never had a duffer yet. They're brilliant guitars and amazing value for money. Apparently, some of the older ones were made at the Aria factory. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi mate All black is good! Just out of interest, what setting did you play the demo piece on? The tone of that was amazing, and didn't sound like any of the tones when you went through the pups. And have to agree with the gentleman above, you could have gone Gilmour with this one!
H Steve and thanks :- I've started using a different method of recording these days so maybe that's it. I'll do a run-through of the new process probably in the New Year. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Snacklofter :-) Aren't those Westfields great? The Harley Bentons are terrific value for money so even if you have to wait for a short while it'll be worth it. Cheers, Gary :-)
the opening riff you played had me swaying . Great playing Gary And a nice guitar as well

Just bought a used one for £40 it's superb - wondering if I should have ordered a Harley Benton ST modern on back order now!!
Hi Snacklofter :-) Aren't those Westfields great? The Harley Bentons are terrific value for money so even if you have to wait for a short while it'll be worth it. Cheers, Gary :-)
Do you buy and sell guitars Gary?
Hi Stevie :-) I do have a few for sale on eBay but most of these you see on here have come in for work. Foxyfoxyfox is my eBay name. Cheers, Gary :-)
I have a 1993 Gibson LP Studio Wine Red I'm trying to get rid of it's a beast of a guitar but I'm more into my Burny LP Custom and my Telecaster...
