sense your cut out is so good you could prob buy that ipad dock holding for card dash's your have to glue it in but still you would be able to pop it in and out. but I like how it locks the ipad behind the dash.
This video helped me do mine. I have an XL tho so no way to use sync for anything and no steering controls. Instead, i bluetooth audio from an Ipad 5 to a digital signal processor that has a volume remote that i mounted in the dash. DSP feed a 6ch amp and a mono amp for my subwoofer. I have 2 6.5s drivers mounted in each front door so 4 of them and a 2way component pod setup on the pillars. This was a cool upgrade. Thanks for the video!
Everytime i turn the ignition on the volume is set half way and its o. Radio i took the face off and same thing i need the face on to switch to the aux .is there away i can make it on the aux?
I guess you don't have a back-up camera? I like the solution other than maybe not having the use of the camera. I love having for hooking up to my trailers, makes it that much quicker.
@@fitzsfixes yeah I did the same thing and the deck then tried to eject a phantom CD if I left the face off. Ended up disconnecting the CD strip inside the deck and it works fine now with the IPAD. Thanks for the inspiration.

No idea. I pulled the face off, and all the steering wheel controls still worked

It was an iPad mini. Can't remember what model, but it was new when I shot that video. I'm pretty sure any mini will work

You are correct. No camera.

I did this but now with the faceplate removed it keeps trying to eject a CD that isn’t there, did this happen to you at all?
I have the faceplate removed

So cool, can we do a long term review in a few months or after plow season , . Thanks fitz
Absolutely. Thanks for watching!
What iPad did you use?
2019 ipad mini. Whatever that series is. Can't remember the number. But they're all the same.
Would this also work in a 2008 f250?
Why not just use the idata with what ever head unit you buy. Then you can mail all factory controls plus what ever the new head unit provides
You said that’s a iPad mini 4 right?
My ipad mini 4 doesn't want to fit for some reason
