- Today we test out a nasty 12ga defense round called the "shot-mini" sent to us by viewer, Psycho Klown. These were very nicely produced and powder coated in hot pink. With a massive hollow point, we expected expansion but were surprised how violently these these reacted to various targets.

That reminded me of the time I accidentally shoved my pointer finger into a 6 blade razor and my fingertip had little skin flaps/gills that would get caught on stuff and I could feel them riffle/undulate. It was mad gross 🤢

Nick's shot to the gelatin head was amazing, but the silly putty was down right scary!
That silly putty going all non-newtonian. The energy dump stiffening, makes it rigid and then shatters.

I'm in agreement about the, too much powder making them squirrelly. I'd love to see a re-test at that 1200fps you mentioned. And, with the other tails Psycho Klown suggested.

So far I've gotten down to ~1260 f/s with the BRP-12 wads, and accuracy has improved while still packing a good punch. Another 0.5 gn drop in powder should get me to ~1200 f/s (using right around 18.0 gn now).
So are you going to tryout the green slug to see how it compares to the pink slug?

To the expecting parents - Congrats!
My wife and I enjoy clay shooting but we just had our first little one a little over a year ago. I purchased the Bandz baby earmuffs from Amazon. When he was about 6 months old I figured we would give it a try taking him with us to the local clays course. Those earmuffs worked awesome! We had to alternate holding him while the other shot because laying in a seat bumped the muffs which reminded him there was something he wanted to take off his head, but while being held he forgot about them. With the muffs on, he was more interested in the butterflies and bugs flying and didn't react or even look over at the shooting noises.
It will definitely slow your course time down, but it was fun getting to take them on their first shooting trip.
