12ga. DYNASLUG Sabot - The slug no one knew about - TESTED!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- We test out the Dynaslug Express. This is a very exotic discarding sabot round that looks suspiciously like the Sauvestre round. But it has so many minor differences, I am not sure who made it. There were sold in the US but most people were unaware of that.

I was just enjoying a video from one of my favorite channels and did not expect to hear you mention me. Thanks so much for all the entertainment and for helping me out guys!
I wish I could send my nephew over there to either fix your computer or build you a new one. He helped me out big time last year when I built my new system.
Boom....subbed ya both
Thank you Taufledermaus (Jeff ) Buffalo is truly an outstanding content provider
OG as usual is as hilarious as you Unicornians can be
Will these rounds ethically harvest a gray squirrel? The season is quickly coming to an end here in SC and I need all the help I can get. 🐿😄
@@christopherch7307 If by ethically, you mean instantaneous dissection by blunt force, then yes lol. Watch your backstop.
Aww.. Danny, all slugs stabilize in heaven. Man, I miss his old school vibe. Thanks for keeping his spirit alive through things he respected and appreciated!!
You guys are truly a class act. Thanks for your videos and your concern for a fellow RUclips creator.
thank you William
Buffalo is a good one.
He took the time to give me a personal, non-related response under one of his videos.
It's not a common thing, and I really appreciated it.
As another commenter mentioned, perhaps a faster burning powder would have worked better for such a light slug. Give it a chance to build up some pressure, but not so much that you have to stick a thumb in it.
"It's smaller and skinnier than I expected". If I had a nickel everytime I was told that, no one would tell me that anymore.
Interesting video would not have guessed that would go through all the jugs. I think it would be cool to see these side by side to the Sauvestre slugs to see which was designed/manufactured better. Sabot show down if you will.
🤣😆😂
No trouble getting it to fit in a 12 ga shell, huh?
Thanks for keeping Danny around. I always love when hes mentioned.
Danny will always be loved by us Taufledermaus consumers and friends.
I really appreciate you putting out quality videos for us Jeff. I hope it never stops. Keep 'em coming my friend.
thank you, your comment makes me happy
I'm shocked it made through all six jugs. Maybe it's designed for hunting Water Buffalo.😁👍
Sonny that was just plain Water Fowle ,,,, LoL
Your takes on donations are admirable, i wish more youtubers had your ethics , good on you both!
thank you!
They look like they could be really good if they had a bit more brass and a bit more powder behind them. Scaled up, it could be good, maybe even make the whole thing brass.
That or hollow out the back and use a lead core.
Yeah, seemed really under powered all around. Have to wonder if it was a case of being cheap on powder, or if trying to increase the speed would drastically throw the accuracy off even more.
I would think something like a lead core would help it out significantly, even if the only result was a slightly heavier impact. At least then it would have something going for it rather than just being another generic round.
Yeah, more brass all around.
Very deep hollow point, half filled with lead, maybe even a noice ballistic tip.
I think this round is for flesh targets as the performance on the water jug targets would suggest.
The over-card wad in the DynaSlug is more than likely there to help “weather-proof” the round. Loading a slug that utilizes a split discarding sabot a rolled crimp potentially can allow moisture (rain) to wick along the seem of the discarding sabot and render the powder inert.
You guys continue to show such amazing community support. Thank you for all the great comedy too! One of my favorite channels!
Our pleasure!
You guys have TOO much fun and your generosity with helping other channels is so refreshing. I really enjoy watching your channel.👍👍
thanks!!
From the outset, I had zero confidence in the extinct Dinosaur slugs tested today. After all, if the manufacturer can't even spell its own name correctly (they left out the A, letter #3) you know everything is on track to be pretty pathetic. Thanks for the shout out to ol' Buff in the heart of Kentucky. He was wearing an OG's Danger Show shirt in a recent post on his channel. That validates him as one of the Good Guys!
he is a good man
took me a second but I got it
Love it that you are using Danny's gun!😇
You are aware the engineers designing the product and the infographists who draw the cardboard box design have essentially nothing in common and probably don’t even work at the same company ? Do you believe each manufacturer in the world make and print their own cardboard boxes instead of going for the 100X cheaper option of outsourcing ? That’s kind of a childish view of the world in my opinion, no offence.
@@adrienperie6119 Yes. And I'm also aware of QC or the lack thereof.
You guys make a number of wonderful videos, and an underwhelming vids once in a while, as expected. I enjoy them all. Thanks guys.
thanks Gene!
@@taofledermaus you're welcome. Keep em coming!
Hey Guys, You Bring a Smile to My Face Every Time I Watch!! Thanks Guys
thank you Roger. That makes me happy
Wow @ 15:20 that slug destroys the 2 blocks of gel!Yet another total breakdown of boom-booms! The science and video evidence is awesome!
Cement is one of four main ingredients of concrete, the others being sand, gravel, and water
yeah but what are the ingredients in colonel sanders secret recipe?
@@jrs4516 I know one thing that isn't in it, real chicken
Calling a bag mix of quickcrete "cement" is like calling bread "flour".
@@brianblank9921 it's a concrete mix.
@@juggernaut316 you are absolutely correct, my point was that cement is an ingredient in the mix, just like flour is an ingredient in bread. You don't call bread, flour, or even bread mix, (which you can buy sans water exactly the same as quickcrete) flour. You call it bread, or bread mix not flour.
I love the fact that you reference Danny in your videos. He's still there shooting with y'all. Keep up the good work gents.
thanks Larry
OG: "I don't know why it goes to the right." ME: "Because they don't use California Ballistics! :D "
You guys are the most entertaining educational content on RUclips! Even though the slugs were kinda lame, you still make me laugh and have a good time!
Thank you!!
huh sadly underwhelming against lead but liquid targets pretty good.
Jeff is the only tuber that is willing to send funds to other people to keep things going. he OG, and when with us Danny are great down to earth people. the world needs more of these guys, so lets learn a thing or two.
thanks for the kind words
Cement is actually an ingredient of concrete. I drove mixer trucks for a few years.
We appreciate your integrity running this channel
thank you Riley
I love how danny will always be part of your channel and our lives through his Mass Accelerator.
I love the name Dynaslug! If only they had done better at promoting they probably would still be around. Another great video Jeff!!!
Right? Had they sent us the slugs to demonstrate a couple years ago, a lot of people would have bought them.
APFSDS shot out of a rheinmetall smoothbore does its job pretty well! Additionally the barrel is smooth bore to allow them to fire missiles. But rifling DOES in fact make a difference in ballistics when it comes to penetration. For example: the M1128 Stryker. Very good video too!
Video isn't even up yet, and it already has 9 comments and 53 likes. That's how you know it's going to be good
Entertainment at its finest. Scientists, comedians, product testing experts and good buddies! Don't stop doing what you do thanks and again all the best from Northern California 👍 👍
I was thinking that drilled out middle and filled with heavier metal might help. They also seem unstable because of the unpredictable behavior of the rear fin. I wonder if this was nylon? And if not, if using nylon would give better results?
You beat me to it.
The extra weight I can agree with, but I don't see modifications to the sabot helping this round significantly.
Not saying it wouldn't effect it, just that by the time enough adjustments were made to make a significant improvement it would have been easier to replace the design entirely.
Being heavier or a hotter load might instantly turn it into a floppy dog turd, but at least it would have something going for it rather than just being bleh.
@@outcast170 load the tail with 1/4 Oz of lead.
And I wouldn't mess with the sabot, but the fin was self destruction when fired, so nylon rear fin might survive better.
Probably casting the slug itself in a hard lead alloy would be the best idea, but as long as the tail survives the stresses of the mass-accelerator, it really doesn't matter what the original plastic is. Maybe even 3D printing sabots and tails would work?
2 2 2 2 2. That and OG's puddle of disappointment autobiography. Cracking me up
Another great video. But I always love your content. Its awesome that Danny can be involved from beyond. We all miss him. You guys are the best. Thanks for the content Jeff. It's great what you said for Buffalo.
You guys are the most honest and true RUclips Channel there is.
I get very frustrated with the non stop greed of other creators and their constant grift.
thank you
“Staying True Through Jug #2” is the name of their new single!
You are awesome Jeff, its great to see you looking out for others, OG's unapproved autobiographyyy ehhhh not so much :-D still hunting for his 90s band debut album, he must have sold atleast 8 copies of that cassette back then, should be hard to get collectables by now if everyone didnt tape over them with that theme to the bodyguard with kevin costner and that lass that loved the pharmas :-) Not a great slug but always good fun, cheers for the share.
thank you
“It’s smaller and thinner than I expected”
I felt that
Through all six water jugs is impressive.
Loved the video guys. I'm pretty sure if you hot glued a pinwheel to the end of those slugs they'd have been less underwhelming. Everyone knows pinwheels pack a wallop 👍
Having fun binge watching your content, Jeff (and OG- but I'm pretty sure OG isn't reading any of these comments 😂) Thanks again for another great one!
Jeff you are the absolute best ! Greg on the other hand :) Still the best channel on RUclips !!!!!!!!
lol thanks
So humble. You guys are great.
clear card is probably to keep more moisture out... if they're coming out of florida yeesh
you can wash a car by tossing table salt on it then squeegee it off an hour later
Thanks for the hard work guys getting videos out
You bet
This isnt "dynaslug" invention. This was created in France a while ago and it is named Balle Sauvestre
The rake shadow on OGs face makes him look like Chakotay! Hahahahaaa 😆😆😆
so really good for...shotgun fishing?! haha. thanks for another great vid.
I didn't think it would go through all 6 jugs. Damn!
Ok, I laughed pretty hard at OG's autobiography comment, "Puddle of Disappointment", that one could have gone many ways but I guess he's trying to keep it more family friendly LOL. liked todays video, interesting design even if the accuracy was a little off. Really hope y'all have a great week.
Cant wait to see it, they look devastating!!
That is a super round. Wow on projectile performance. I love the sarcasm a bit. Stay safe.
Great video Jeff! Danny would be happy you're using his shotgun. OUI!
thank you Jimmy
We are supposed to be sending you guys beer? Sounds like a reasonable request...
I rarely drink, because it makes me sleep lol
Love you guy's videos! I don't do patreon or I would donate there as well, Go TEAM TBL!
Thank you very much. Just enjoy the video and maybe... not use an ad blocker? lol
The end of this video is the main reason I like and respect you guys. Real down to earth people. Thanks for the content
Thank you J Mac
Greg I’m a deer hunter in a slug only state! And I make my own hanldloaded slugs too! I do a lot of experimenting. I’d like to know how these slugs perform on deer and hogs!
This one seems to penetrate well so should do well on hogs.
It might be effective, but I'd imagine there are far better designs (or at least more efficient) out there, specially if your making your own.
On boar they are excelente
@@outcast170 Thanks Will! Yes, I have lots of different slugs to try and load. I'm not sure this one would mushroom sufficiently for deer and boar hunting.
We banned all wildlife in Calunicornia or I’d try them out. If it were me, I’d probably choose a standard rifled slug and not one of these “magic” slugs that don’t work as well.
You guys never cease to remind me of the power of the all mighty 12 gauge 💪🏿😎
thanks
Ever thought about designing a aintdrone round?
Something that will reach out a ways..maybe bird shot would work i don't know. Just a thought
Just use buck shot. It'll be like shooting a clay pigeon
Bird shot will do it
Just curious how far out
PLEASE DO A COMPILATION OF THE FEW SLUGS THAT WENT THROUGH THE LEAD PLATE
yes, that deserves all caps!!!
We have 6's in Canada for instance our Prim Minister is 666 and I own a 6.5 Swede ya I know its not quite a 6 but its close .
😆👍
I look forward to seeing every single video you guys post. Can’t wait for another one.
thanks Steven!
The difference between the two slugs is probably due
to copyright since the rights got sold on, good to see Danny's shotgun stays part of the show
Thanks for bringing all your videos to us. I really enjoy your style
thank you
You guys are just pure and good people. There is only 1 other woodcarveing youtuber that i know of that have tried to turn down donations. Maybe instead of asking people to donate else where, just collect it and donate to a charity, a youtube or a foundation to help.
The people donating might not agree with re-donating it to someone they don't like.
@@taofledermaus Good point well put. I know people will donate appropriately. As always thanks for the time and effort for your video, OG, Brianna, and Danny's spirit included, also for talking to the little folk.
great video and good to see my favorite channels sticking together! you guys are top notch!
thank you
“That’s too bad, I had high hopes for these things” “Ah me too, I expected them to grow up and go to college…”. Officer Greg could do stand up.
lol that was gold
I always enjoy your entertainment! Just like many of my other favorite channels that I like to watch, YT is "hiding" your videos again from my "recommended videos" list. For me, it's a daily trudge through my "all" portion of my subscriptions list to find the "good" stuff like your channel provides. It is worth it.
I do have a number of videos that seem to get recommended and are performing pretty well.
Even underwhelming I always appreciate the videos. Thank you guys
thanks Eric
*_"It's on there when it enters."_* OG's biggest hit from his hair metal days.
That's one of the coolest of the lighter slugs y'all have shot it was super cool seeing a brass slug vaporize like some of the lead slugs do when they hi the lead plate most of the time they just pass threw or just get in bedded in that thing and just a thought I bet the clear shot card was more just a water proofer more than anything else lol
Yeah I really think the powder load on these things were a little light and Greg buddy you're closing your eyes when you squeeze the trigger again love to show guys mention Greg should you be home editing? We need to see the rock star over there on my second favorite tube channel OG DANGER is the man !!!!
Another short video coming later this week, sir.
Going through F number of gallons of water is pretty good. Shedding the plastic on impact is good. TWO gels screams large game, like a mastodon. Only question is what does it do at 30 yards? Wish you had more. Good stuff guys!
I'm very under overwhelmed! Lol. I just love watching things being shot in interesting ways!
Haha hearing OG talk about the people in his class saying they are good shots because they played CoD reminds me of the guy who came in second place in my basic training group range qualification. He had never even been in the same room as a real firearm, only ever played CoD (back when it was still WW2 themed) and he managed to get just one point less than the top scorer (me, who has used firearms all my life) 45 out of 46 shots on target. And i honestly think the two of us and a few others would have gotten better scores, but our gas masks were all yellowed and scratched to hell and back and were part of a batch of about 20 that were decomissioned two days after range day. Unfortunately we went our seperate ways after tech school, but he was a good guy with and range qualification ignited a love of firearms in him that i hope still burns to this day.
14:26 classic OG
Was hard to tell but the one broken in half by the lead plate it looked like it was hollow up the center. That might account for the low oomph, low mass for it's volume. Penetration is going to be a mix of cross sectional density and hardness.
Coming in from the "State" of Confusion..
You're favorite Convoy province of British Columbia.. Thanks Jeff & OG, for another great review.
thank you Mitch!!
WOW! have Always loved this channel. So how refreshing and honest it is for them to tell us they don't need financial support.
thanks William
Thanks for supporting c&n too
Buffalo has some great videos. There is a 200 yard 12 gauge video. He uses only the bead sight
I THINK that was the first video I watched from him.
I for one, enjoy the jabber jawing and yapping. Load data, chamber pressures and velocities make my brain smile
Buffalo is my favorite Appalachian American Gun Channel.
I often get my concrete mix down at the cement plant. There has never been a documented case of death from cement over-shoes, or concrete boots.
Both taofledermaus and Buffalo outdoors are my go to channels about 12ga shotgun shells . Love both channels and can’t wait to see new videos
Even underwhelming it's still interesting. The banter is always worth the watch.
thank you Chuck!
As a long time journeyman cement mason, that bag is concrete. Cement is a component of concrete. Concrete is a mixture including cement, stone, and sand. New mixes have other added ingredients. Cement is ground baked limestone. New mixes have been adulterated with gypsum, etc. to keep costs down (they say improve). Great video as always. I never don't enjoy OG's commentary.
I’m pretty sure this bag had cement, stone and sand inside. And a secret decoder ring!
Officer Greg always has nice knives too! Appeared as if he was wielding a Benchmade 🤘
‘’At least two people involved’’ lmao funny stuff
OG had me cracking up on this one!
You are some decent guys to refer away your patreon dollars. I always enjoy you and the OG Danger show.
Thanks for watching both shows! 🤟😎
Great job og & Jeff.
Thank goodness Jeff corrects every inconsequential utterance.
FYI, a water\cement ratio of 0.2 -0.3 would normally be great for a postcrete mix. The good ol' 3.2.1. aggregate.sand.cement by weight magic ratio always works for general concrete.
Spin stabilisation works for bullets with the center of mass to the rear of a projectile. In case of a fin stabilised projectile, with its center of mass in the front it only delivers tumbling, which spoils the accuracy.
Still done better than I expected there was a big energy dump in the first block of gel. Y’all be safe and GOD BLESS y’all Amen 🙏
Randle! 😎👍
People should really consider supporting OG. I hear he's running low on chocolate milk and truck tires.
YAYY!! Sir Gregg in the house! 👀😎😎
