Hi Dr David Dean, happens to discover your channel & enjoy your series on New Testament survey(6parts). Learn a lot & find it helps me in my understanding of the scriptures more. Is there a series on Survey of the Old Testament? Thank you very much & may the Lord greatly use you;)
Greetings, Benny! I'm glad that you enjoyed the NT series, and I hope that you'll share it with others. I am indeed working on a series on the Old Testament, and hope to begin posting it within the next month. In the meantime, please consider the other series on topics like the Holy Spirit, eschatology, bibliology, etc. Enjoy, and may the Lord bless you as you study and obey His precious Word!
37:24 I’ve always wondered why sacrifices will be offered in the millennial temple since Jesus fulfilled the need for sacrifice with His death on the cross. Can you explain why? Will they only be thank sacrifices, maybe?
An excellent question! A careful study of Ezekiel 40-48 reveals that although there will be sacrifices in the millennium, that future sacrificial system is quite different than the OT Levitical system. The millennial sacrifices will include (as you noted) (1) sacrifices of thanksgiving. They also seem to include (2) memorial sacrifices that look back to Messiah's work on the cross (much as the Lord's table does now in the church age) and (3) sacrifices that serve as a reminder of the sinfulness of the mortal subjects of the millennial kingdom. It is important to remember that even in OT times, the Levitical sacrifices only covered sin, but did not actually atone for sin (see Hebrews 10:1-4). Once we recognize this, it is no longer difficult to accept the idea of sacrifices during the future messianic, millennial kingdom.
Good question. Let me clarify. In the organization's name "Chosen People Ministries" the term "Chosen People" refers to the Jews (i.e. the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the 12 patriarchs) as the national group to whom God gave the various covenants (Abrahamic, Mosaic, Davidic, and New covenants). They were chosen for a special role, namely to be a light to the nations, to be God's instrument to bring the Scriptures, and especially to be the people through whom the Savior (Jesus/Yeshua, the Messiah/Christ) came (Genesis 12:3, 49:8-12, etc.). See Isaiah 44:1-5 for the terminology "chosen" that identifies Israel as God's chosen people. However, we need to be careful not to confuse the fact that Israel is chosen as a nation for national purposes with the fact that individuals are chosen by God for eternal salvation (the term "elect" in the NT epistles means "chosen for salvation" cf. 2 Timothy 2:10). Not all Israelites (i.e. all Jews) will be eternally saved. The election (choosing) of Israel is national, not individual. Only those individual Jews who respond to the gospel message will be eternally saved (Romans 10:14). I hope this answers your question.

@@ReasonandRevelation thank you for taking the time to explain! I’ve been puzzled about this for a very long time.
Chosen people?
Yes, as are you
