Great video! Love that there’s lots of sample photos and video of what exactly you’re describing. Keep it up. As for the camera, I wish it had a mic input and a hotshoe mount, but I may be asking too much...
Well I have both the Lx 7 and the Lx 10. There is little to choose between them, much the same size but of course the Lx 10 has 20 mega pixels. The Lx 7 needs a lot to beat it for basic photography !
Great review! I also considered the LX10 but eventually got the G7X II as it was cheaper from where I live and that extra range might find itself useful in certain situations (100m at tele vs 72mm for the LX10).
From what I read from a couple of owners of the LX10, there is more sharpness in stills at the long end than there is with the Sony RX100 lV. Have you compared the two and what was your conclusion?
does this have clean hdmi? also no auto shutoff when connected to a power source? I am trying have 4k while leaving the camera on to capture it on a computer (for streaming and not recording)
Would you recommend this for gig videos? - If I were to have a few of these to capture live music events, would these get better results under the challenging lighting of gigs than go pro's etc. I am not a professional film maker, I work in sound but would like reasonable and reliable video capability for promo purposes, without having to borrow insanely expensive DSLR. Any alternative recommendations?
I'm thinking about buying the LX10 (for photos, don't care about videos) but can't help but wonder that it's way behind mobile phones with algorithms like Google's HDR+ or Night Sight. I mean, I can take photos in dark places where I will absolutely have to use a tripod with the LX10. Dynamic range is also better on the phone with HDR+ stacking images in one click.. What does the LX10 has then? Better details when you crop, narrower DOF , better handling/controls and lastly - zoom. Now..because of what I mentioned I even thought that maybe I should just get a TZ100 or TZ200...Phones do not have such zoom so it should give the camera more reasons to exist :)
Whoa! You sound like you would rather a compact point and shoot with optical zoom - but want the AI processing that Google brings to its Pixel phones. If you're a gun at post editing, then get a camera with the feature you specified and edit in post (photo stack, pull detail out manually, shoot in raw, etc). If you're into photography, getting a camera for good/great pics is a must. I like my mobile for candid stuff, and I've promised myself a Pixel 4 (depending upon what specs it has), but that said, I can't not have a real camera.
I researched P&S 1" cameras for probably 4 months before I pulled the trigger on the LX10/15. They ALL have their annoyances from the sounds of it, so I picked the one that I thought would annoy me the least. lol The cost, and the fact that Panasonic is currently extending the warranty to 3 years free of charge, along with what the camera could do of course, made me buy the LX10/15. I bought mine new from B&H for less than 600 U.S. with a 32gb card and goofy carrying case. EVERYONE BUNDLES... 😂
@@chrisvanderstock So far so good! I have a 2 week trip to FL coming up in a month with the family. THAT will be its true test. I ordered an ND filter and mag attachment kit for it as well.
@@TheRealSmithFamily yup, just saw it. Panasonic has a promo. Just ordered one off Amazon! Made sure the seller was accepted as a verified seller offering the manufacturer warranty. Thanks for bringing this up!

Great review and agreed as I do have LX10. If they improve focus, stabilization, and have mic input then this would be best small camera ever.

Yep, sometimes I wish for greater zoom.
Can LX10 be "hacked" like rest of the Lumix cameras to record video with no limit?
That's a decent review, thank you so much!!
I have a question; do you recommend it in December 2020? If not, what are the alternatives?
thanks for your analysis for me, i will buy the Lumix LX-10
Glad I could help!
@@chrisvanderstock thanks
I have the canon sx730 I bought Dec 2019. This Lumix Lx10 will be my next camera I'll purchase in March
Good street camera, yes or no?
Hey man - new subscriber here, love your channel. Would you mind doing a video on your optimal settings for this camera in manual mode?
Sure, will do!
@@chrisvanderstock Can't wait!!!!!!! Thank you!
How abt low light performance???
Very neat review. Thank you.
Do you need to use nd filter during day filming?
Megabits?

help! i cant decide on the lx10 vs tz110.. i would love the range of the 110, but i like the lowlight option.. i do a fair amount of timelapse.
If the tz110 has audio in, go with that! The LX10 is great, but lack of audio in is an issue.
What do you mean it doesn't record audio? The one at the store did. I'm confused.
It records audio, in stereo no less. Just that the mics are average and there is no ability to connect an external mic to it.
Good video, Chris
Keep up the hard work
Anyone know how to check the stutter count by anychance?
Mine stopped recording after 30 minutes
Strange, mine doesn't do that. It does divide recordings into seperate files every thirty minutes, so I cut them together in post.
I have a Lumix LX10, great travel camera, no regrets.
I'm thinking about selling my Canon m50 and getting the LX10 for street photography. Please convince me to buy it
Very nice review with lots of samples. Thank you.
is the video recording time limited? most small cams stop at 30 mins
I can't recall sorry; I've since sold it and moved on to the Sony ZV-1
I love your videos btw
The LX10 with an attached variable ND filter is an amazing compact video kit at f1.4
I know, right!? Shoots well above its weight. [Pun intended!]
Barry Maskell How do you attach an ND filter to this?
