Why but I love that lawnmower

The storage requirement for mobile went from 36gb to 18gb since 4.6 update btw
My iPad mini (64GB) couldn’t update to 4,6 out of space… and I have nothing else on there . Managed to free up 1,5 GB and were able to update… but don’t know going forward if I can continue to use my iPad.
Before 4.6, storage was crazy high of 23 ish but after on my ipad mini, its now on 18, crazy how they lowered its size
@@umpalumpa9659 I dont know if you know this but uninstalling and reinstalling helps. Also going to Settings -> Resources -> Quest Resources and then deleting old quests saves some space.
@@kookesstuff I'm wondering how the minimize the space and second what was the reason that it took so much space
Could be super sampling to keep similar texture quality at lower sizes, or cutting down the draw distance. Could be they switched to sending texture data over the web instead of leaving it all on-device. Most likely they just cleaned up a bunch of unused garbage the player never sees.
I wonder what crazy things they have planned for Natlan to make these changes necessary
Higher res textures or higher poly models. That or areas that demand more assets loaded at once.
Oh, and rumored mounts, meaning you can traverse things much faster meaning the device needs to be able to swap stuff in memory more rapidly. That is most likely the largest culprit.
volcanoes, and suffering. I'm having Dragonspine flashback rn, it's the only place I haven't got 100% besides upper setekh
@@Bliss467 holy shit i fucking hope so. we need some sort of enhanced method of travel so exploration isn't a slog all the time.
Probably because it will be more like Remuria's WQ and the Itto event making it more involved and improving the story quality
It actually would be nice if they spruced up Mondstadt and parts of Liyue a bit. Doubling or tripling the max load in the teapot would also be nice, especially for the outdoor space.
Yesss I need more load limit in the teapot
The limit in the teapot is so annoying, it really ruins the fun 🥲
It'd be nice if they spruced up the brand new part of Sumeru which is literally the lamest part of the map.
But since they only just released that and in doing so they actually un-spruced the mountain by removing loads of waterfalls I don't have high hopes...
Visual performance isn't going to be reduced, visual fidelity will. They are reducing how good the game will look on low-end devices to maintain the same level of performance.
Will it be very noticeable? I played wuthering a bit . It plays well but the graphics kinda puts me off since I have a low end phone.
@@nahians.m9114 no one knows. It probably won’t be significantly worse than it already is, but no way to know until 5.0.
@@effortlessfury I hope so, man. Guess we gotta wait and watch.
i think it will seeing 3.0 mildly nuked my graphics (i play on a 6+ year old ipad). everything got slightly blurrier, more choppy (animation wise still the same) and all pre rendered cutscenes were a worse quality. I do need to upgrade but like i was disappointed because i’m pretty sure it could run better but it doesn’t in favour of not crashing. With what it seems they’re gonna be planning for natlan i think there’s gonna be another version of this and im likely gonna get hit again due to my device’s age.
I wish on mobile they would just fix the character icons in place instead of having them shuffle whenever you switch your character. It forces you to keep an eye on the right side of the screen so you don't accidentally switch to the wrong character.
As someone with a good gaming PC, this is a dream come true. Hoping for better textures, 120fps and my number one wish..lip sync in other languages.
I've heard murmurs that they've been testing AI lip-sync to make it easier to add them for all languages going forward. IIRC some quests do appear to have all languages with lip sync on launch
Same!! So excited
@@TheVermilliaFamily I think Star Rail already has been using that lip sync tech, since pretty much all voiced content isn't just mouth flapping but actually moving with words. Hoping they integrate it more into Genshin though, since it's obviously possible
@@ExtrnalSorce2 I don't understand why they seem to have "trouble" implementing that tech, auto-lipsync has been a thing since Half-Life 2 first came out. That's literally a 20 years old tech now...
Hoyo has a deal with apple to lock 120 fps only on certain apple devices, so it's very unlikely I think
I originally played on mobile for about two years and then finally managed to get my hands on a PS5. Very recently I went back to mobile for the rhythm game event since I predominantly play rhythm games on my phone and couldn't wrap my head around the controls on console. I don't know how I ever managed to play Genshin like this before lmao, my respect to all the mobile players out there.

Yeah If you just do everyday daily do so quick route of things why you need PC or something right ?
I play Genshin everyday I always end up playing with short amount of time.
I can’t wait for 5.0 to come out and all that changes is that 1 blade of grass looks slightly different it’s gonna be great
Imagine if the Switch version existed
This is why it doesn't exist, can't handle the game
I do that every day... :(
The Switch cant even handle games it's made for now. It cant handle Genshin

The minimum requirements are staying the same your all panicking for nothing it will look a little worse on the lowest settings but it will run even smoother then before and the highest settings will be even better its a win win really
Even being a PC user I hate how much memory space Genshin occupies.
They literally just crunched the size down significantly.
@@effortlessfury Really? How? Mine still at 100gb+
@@DonQ0 Might wanna try a reinstall. The game does accumulate expired resources that don't get properly cleaned up. What they DID do recently was recompress many of the permanent resources. It shaved 5-15GB off of the install for folks depending on their platform. My PC copy is at 77GB atm.
@@effortlessfury does reinstalling benefit phone and console users too?
@@barely-_-1422 it should. Mobile has its own clean up option but I don’t know if it handles expired content; an uninstall will regardless, though.
I think the most egregious result of trying to minimize the game's file size is that story/lore relevant events can't stick around for players that missed them. I'm not talking about the rewards but plot. Things like the Sus Albedo event, GGA (1 and 2), etc. They could work around that issue by making the event quests downloadable content that could be removed manually after completing them.
hello, to worried people.
game designer here who recently received why they are maximizing the requiremenet
as per my friend, NATLAN will more like story based quests which means, it wont be like normal archon quest like past where you can make decisions or stop. genshin is turning into STORY TELLING GAME for some patches from now since we are at 45% of plot so since, they will have to devlop 'story telling interactive design' devices might need more power.
Source?
@rekyotasonnoka7143 some leakers. Im not lying trust me.
The next archon quest will be more of story telling so more cut scenes and cut scenes with interaction needs alot of performance
@@Minjoiewow, if that’s true that is going to be incredible. I did notice that in the recent music event there seemed to be some unique custom animations during the dialogue that wasn’t just their idles reused. Maybe they were experimenting with the idea of having intractable cutscenes?
@Charly_Bear that's what i am saying. As a game designer. Making interactive cutscenes are very demanding of performance because your whole processor would be rendering all of the scenes rather than playing a video for example.
And yes, it is confirmed that from now genshin will make more of those quest, and other archon quest will be more of story telling intercative cutscenes rather than, just walking around.
@@Charly_Bear h
Still using my ps4 which have been with me from pandemic till now. Honestly I can't afford such luxuriousness on upgrading it to ps5 to improve my experience. As long as its still working on ps4, then I am contended with that.
Your videos butter My biscuits thank you
I play mainly on mobile (only using PC for Archon+story quests and flagship event stories), so I'm a bit worried about when Natlan releases. I have a Galaxy S10 and it's doing pretty good right now, even with HSR and other gacha games on it, but this new optimization they have may change things
Didn't you see that they drastically reduced the game size by removing some graphical render distance just recently?
I don't think render distance affects file size though? Whether you render it or not, it doesn't affect whether it exists in the game already.
@@ExtrnalSorce2 the details affect something
graphical render distance does not decrease file size at all
I didn't even know it was your video and not of those "update" channels that just put every new item from a patch as it's own section in a video
i’ve been a mobile player since day one of genshin bc i can’t really afford a console and know nothing about pcs, if given the opportunity, i would though
Rendering everything in a game, even the parts that aren’t currently visible, most likely impact performance. Implementing a line of sight (LoS) checker is a smart approach to optimize rendering.
Take notes Hoyoverse it could lead to smoother gameplay experiences
they do have LOS lmao
Culling would be nice but it can also be jarring to turn around and see the world load in because you turned too fast
@@kittikorn6674 yeah only rendering a 360° around you yeah, it just doesn't render that far, depending on "Environmental Detail" setting
@@ExtrnalSorce2 they should add an optional switch for this feature
Culling is a standard feature ever since 3D graphics was a thing...
ive been trying to migrate to pc for years, but it's just not as enjoyable to me as doing abyss in the bathroom at 1am 😭
I just can't get used to the controls, everything feels slower, everything I wanna do takes longer, and the larger screen with the higher resolution doesn't really enhance my experience in any meaningful way.
When I first heard this announcement I spent a good two hours trying to figure out whether or not my iPad would be able to play itAs an aside I also play it on PC
6:34 Genshin PC player here and Genshin has been 60 FPS for as long as I have played the game (Which has been since Version 1.4)
For goodness sake! So now I have to get perfect scores in my upcoming exam so my parents would buy me a new device........
2:34 considering all the people who had issues when Fontaine dropped, with the underwater graphics, i think they are trying to prepare everyone now.
will there be a way to delete unused data and storage on PC/console like with mobile?
Just upgraded my laptop from 2060 to 4060 so no issues there if they bump up the visuals. As for my phone it has a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, not the bleeding edge but with 12gb RAM & 256gb storage I don't expect any performance drop off.
Great vid! The raccoon progressing with the vid is a real nice touch 👍
Genuine question, couldn't Hoyo help these players by "segmenting" the game's download? In other words. you could download specific regions you want to explore (Fontaine & Sumeru for instance) and that could save a ton of space for em?
i got a 256GB iphone 15 last year for my birthday so i hope that means i’ll be fine 👁️👁️ excited for the new changes and region!
So of all things they want to address and change they want to update the entire visual look? Why? It looks fine doesn’t it? Wouldn’t this take more resources than other things people keep asking for?
I still have a lot of space left on my phone thankfully. And by the time HSR is halfway through it's story, I think I'll be able to get a pc by then.
How about that hand held support.. soon, or is it locked to the Switch still?
I switched over to a gaming phone 2 years ago for many reasons- but one of the main reasons was because I've predicted this would happen eventually
And since I mostly play on the go and physically do not have the space where I live to set up a proper gaming PC, I decided it would be better to invest in a stronger phone that could handle the game (and others) smoothly
Option to turn off the music when minimizing the game exists in Star Rail though, it was added with 2.2 patch. Probably gonna add it in Genshin soon as well. But you can already mute the sound by opening the News tab
It’s been in Genshin longer than star rail
FYI for people who don't know. The storage space that genshin takes up got *reduced* in 4.6 on both pc and mobile. I could not fit the game on my phone back in 4.1 but i can now (which is kinda funny since we have had 3 more expansions since then) So if you couldn't fit it before, try again now and see if it works. You might get lucky like me
As a mobile player for 3 years now, I can say the UI isn't too bad, at least in my opinion. I can see why people may think it is or what have you but I suppose after playing mobile Genshin for a long while, you just get used to it. Though that could be said about any platform.
Love the running raccoon
Almost as if not all games are made with PC players in mind
A good moment to remind people that if you have a pc you can play of nvidia geforce ! Before buying myself a gaming pc I used to play genshin on my mac of all things !
Sure if you wanna play for free you have a time limit for you session, and a queue to wait in before entering again, but at least you won't ever have storage issues or overheating.
Guys does visual upgrade mean will also impact the graphics settings too?
was genshin ever capped at 45 fps? I thought they had 60 from the beginning
They have recently optimized the storage it’s currently 18GB on mobile
Something you said didn't vibe. I don't remember ever being capped at 45 fps, I'm certain I've always been at 60, and I began on 1.2, so unless it was strictly before that, there's no way I wouldn't remember that being the case, and I wouldn't call 1.2 "quite a while after release"... more like practically at release, considering we're going into 4.7 at the moment, but hey... it's not like this is a big deal, I just felt like "nope, maybe in a parallel universe, but not in my reality" xD rant over, good luck have fun
Will genshin finally have controller support for android users 😢
I built my PC back then in 2019. It is still going strong so I will welcome this new update with open arms... but I wished they could increase the graphics drawing distance in PC. I know other games you can see objects from far away, but Genshin Impact limits how far objects are rendered in real time.
I cant wait to see the mountains in liye where the adaptie live with higher graphics!
I may have both a ps4 and 5, but still i feel for anyone that might not enjoy the new update
I rather play another games than Genshin
6:13 what i also hate about muting sounds is that if you mute dialogues to mute OSMANTHUS WINE, then ALL dialogues will be voiceless. can i just mute the idle voices please? like the voices of NPCs on the streets and OSMANTHUS WINE
hunters literally cant lose in windtrace this patch
Well with the size of Genshin zones they really needed to add mounts years ago.
It's good timing for me. I have this personal policy of buying new phone at most once within 5 years. I'm currently using a 2018 SD 845 POCO F1, before that it's the 2013 Samsung Note 3. I already planned to buy 2024 POCO flagship F series this year, so kind of a coincidence with this Genshin news.
I deleted everything off of my iPad (my only way to play Genshin) to make space for the last few updates. I even deleted my college textbooks. Final exams are not going well. 😅
Why didn't you have/get a pc for the backup and transfer everything you can to the pc? It stil frees up storage but without deletion...
I don't know if it is just me, but I'm not even close to max storage having genshin and other games on my phone. To me, the problem is not about the game's performance but it's server, living in South America and having to connect to servers in the US is a nightmare, my ping is always above 100, and while i can 36 star the abyss, the latency makes it much harder.
Well, when much better Cel Shaded games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are able to run on a lower power machine (the Nintendo Switch) but Hoyoverse needs to downgrade the so-called upcoming graphical upgrade of Genshin Impact on PS4, that really says something about the capability of Nintendo.
The Nintendo Switch was being referred to a be relatively lower power than PS4 because one time Capcom requested more memories on the Switch if Nintendo wants something like Monster Hunter World to be able to run on the Switch. Anyway, later Capcom was still able to create a Cel Shaded Monster Hunter Rise for the Switch.
Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have way better animation (like the horse riding animation and stealth moving animation) and having complex mechanics of physics (like picking up objects, throwing objects, rolling objects, breaking a pair of ropes holding a bridge with arrows, building vehicles from objects etc. etc.) than Genshin Impact.
Hopefully, there is no such thing as downgrading an upgrading of Genshin Impact on PS4 so that Hoyoverse can show themselves to the industry that they are comparable with Nintendo in terms of capability although Hoyoverse is using a third party engine (Unity).
By the way, an upgrading of a game needs a downgrading to a level lower than before upgrading so as to get it run on the so-called low power machines.......what a backward incompatible shame.
There's no need to worry about the requirements going up. It's just misinfo. They're making it so that lower end specs will sacrifice more graphical fidelity for perfomance, and vice-versa for higher end specs. You will be able to run Genshin on any device you can run it on now, some things will just look worse and run better.
@@Tundra_Hunter
It is not about the requirements going up but a backward compatible upgrade with respect to PS4.
"some things will just look worse and run better" and that is the problem. A backward compatible upgrade means everything either stays the same for machines which are not able to support the upgrade or better for machines which are able to support the upgrade.
I have no performance issue playing this game on PS4. In other words, the so-called performance increased but graphically worsen means a downgrade not an upgrade.
PS4 will have same graphics in low end android.
@@yoiko89
PS4 will have same graphics in low end android after the so-called graphical upgrade?
Well, if that is the case, the capability of Hoyoverse or the game engine Unity is inferior compared with Nintendo.
Anyway, I am going to get a PS5 sometimes this year but I am not buying the PS5 for Genshin Impact but Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Rōnin. I am not going to waste the PS5 storage for this 100 gig Genshin Impact - the same size as GTA5.
Both the graphics and the gameplay mechanics complexity of Genshin Impact are relatively lower than Breath of the Wild (14 gig) and Tears of the Kingdom (16 gig) as these two Nintendo games need to run on a relative low power console, the Switch with limited storage space compared with PS4.
As a whole, the animations, cinematic and gameplay mechanics (except combat) of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are way batter than Genshin Impact and these two Nintendo games do not need 100 gig and a high power console to run these high quality graphics and gameplay mechanics.
This is really a disappointment if the so-called upgrade actually is a downgrade for PS4.
The game takes 28gb of my storage 🙂. I think thats because i started the game from scratch on another server using the same account. And now i can’t delete it
Wasn't PC always capable of 60 fps?
I think they shouldn't change to prioritizing pc over mobile like doing things like changing the teapot everything pc players can do mobile players should be able to do and just as well
The Serenitea Pot load limit is extremely infuriating. You can't even build much of a small Fontaine street without hitting the load limit.
The PS4 runs horribly at 2.0 when i used it.
Considerable delay in loading of mobs to the point where having to wait 10seconds in abyss to find an enemy wasnt abnormal.
maybe it’s just my personal hatred but I’m blaming sumeru desert, most of these problems have been more apparent(have been always present) since the desert. my 11 was fine from 1.6-3.3 ish, and my 13 (that I got in december) can barely run in the desert but i’d literally fine in every other region, that place is the only area I suffer major lag in, even underwater I’m find
Heck, even when I mute my T.V., I need to open the map when "tabbed out" to avoid background noise from my PS4 Pro's fans. But then, there's the Xbox Series X I picked up, actively running Senua's Sacrifice muted, and I was bewildered by how quiet it still was.
