Congrats on the new laser! I have the Omtech AF-2435-80 and I love it. Just subscribed so I can follow along and see what you make with it. 👍🏻

Hey, thanks for the video, would it fit going through a standard doorway?

I bought the exact same machine. It arrives in a couple of days. Did you have to do much work to dial in the machine or did it work right out of the box? My machine will be about 12 in from the garage door so the run for venting will be super short. Do you think the venting system that comes with the machine will be sufficient? I'd like to avoid buying the in-line fan if possible. Also, I am building a stand for my machine. We seem to be about the same height. How many inches would you suggest raising the laser?

Congrats on the new purchase! It’s fun! And there’s not a ton of work to get it going. Just ran a lot of test pieces to get the numbers dialed in. Did a laser alignment too.
Venting is important and I haven’t tested it with just the stock fan. I’m actually thinking about removing it because my inline fan spins it too fast and it makes a high pitched noise that’s annoying. Worth a shot to try it I guess but I’d recommend it because everyone else recommends it.
As for the stand, definitely recommend building one. Mine is so low I’m bending over constantly or working on my knees to clean it. Right now it’s 27” tall, I’d probably recommend building a 15”-20” stand. I like my workspaces right at my belly button or a little higher. One thing you’ll lose with the stand is the castors. It’s nice to roll it around to access the back for maintenance. Just something to think about.

I'm curious.......what was the thickest plywood that you have cut so far?

I bought a bunch of 5mm plywood so that’s what I’ve been working with. I think this thing would be able to cut 1/2” but would have significant charing. This is based off some research I’ve done on this wattage
