- After the death of his teenage brother Andy, multi-millionaire Matt Trakker uncovers an international criminal organization known as V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem) Trakker gathers a group of friends who, like himself, possess extraordinary talents and creates M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) Their objective; to destroy V.E.N.O.M. and its mastermind - Miles Mayhem, the man responsible for Andy's death.
This episode was the closest VENOM ever came to defeating MASK.
It also shows how important a role the masks themselves play in the MASK agents' lives since they protect their civilian identities on top of being weapons.
Nice seeing S.F. in various shows- lived there for some years.
Wow, identity revealed & Scott kidnapped. Nice stuff from Matt & T-Bob.
I think there'd still be some traffic on the bridge, even at dawn. 😉
It'd be funny if one of the Venom guys called Vanessa & told her the news on Matt when they got that info. 😅Fun episode!
This was a strange episode. Venom finally figure out who the MASK leader is with a skull and somehow know that the boy who always shows up is Matt son. Then they are loading all the mask's and why would they have lifter and specrum when Matt and Bruce already had there MASK which is how Venom learned there secret identity.
That's why Scott was kidnapped and T Bob was trashed
Matt Trakker and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
VENOM has many opportunities to figure out MASK, for instance:
1) MASK is always talking to each other, and even to VENOM, and yet they always use their own names.
2) Why does VENOM never remember Scott & T-Bob even though they are always showing up.
Yeah, whenever they see Scott or T-Bob they should give the classic line "It's MASK!!"
Yes, it's *no wonder* this cartoon was never one of the best (the way VENOM never remembered Scott and T-Bob, especially as Scott was the son of Matt Trakker - the leader of MASK) [and, on top of that, Alex Sector and Miles Mayhem are now my only two favourites in this].
well, if you have a dumb kid and his dumbass robot that can sabotage you all the time and you dont do anything to teach them properly, and you let them venture into dangerous place without supervision seeing that you are rich enough to hire someone to do that, oh and also the villian is rich but extremely stupid to fail at all mission, yes, this is cartoon for the kids
Off screen they found out who they were before the start of the 2nd season. Maybe they did finally figure out Scott Trakker's identity. LOL! :D
Holy plot points Batman. The knowledge gained from the skull is erased from the users memory. #Deuceexmachina
Matt is a true leader. He obviously doesn't have any ideas so he asks for ideas from someone else and goes with them
how the hell would Miles not know Matt was in charge. He was with Andy at the time too. Way to forget the orignal comic book
The comic book and the TV show are in different universes... The only way it makes sense!
(not just your point, but also more issues in other cartoons)
Mayhem thought he killed Matt when he killed Andy
id say this episode called for an upgrade in weapons and vehicles.
That's what season 2 was for
T-Bob Should Be A Linebacker For A Football Team, With That Crystal Skull.
As long as he holds on to the skull/football
19:43 mayhem have still the skull in his hand when running away when it few moment ago was destroyed hehe
considering how in Series 2, Mayhem was revealed to have worked with Matt to help get Mask started, this episode acts like he has no idea who M.A.S.K. are led by
Mayhem figures Matt died in the lab fire with his brother when Mayhem stole the plans for the technology
To be fair to Miles, one possible way to reconcile them might be that Mayhem and Trakker did indeed work on the early stages of the MASK project, as seen in the comic and referenced in the Season Two premiere, with Trakker's role essentially being a rich businessman investing money in the project- if memory serves of the origins comic which I've not read in about thirty-five years, Miles Mayhem originally approached Matt Trakker for that purpose; hence him recognising Matt by sight fairly easily- but, Mayhem may have had no idea at all that, after he went rogue, stole the Mask technology and killed Andy Trakker in the process, it was Matt Trakker who personally took command of MASK to rebuild it. You wouldn't necessarily expect the rich financial backer of an anti-terrorist initiative to be taking the driving seat as its commander in the field- and your arch enemy. Admittedly, when Trakker frequently uses Thunderhawk as his personal car during his civilian life, and has the same annoying kid and annoying egg-shaped robot wandering round with him in public as always seem to keep popping up during MASK missions, it does start to make VENOM look just a *bit* obtuse, but then, they sort of are.
I wonder if the disappearance of stalwarts like Bruce Sato and Hondo MacLean in the second series was because, when VENOM went "public" and MASK were effectively forced to do the same in order to counter them, some MASK agents were unwilling to risk family and friends by exposing their secret identities and retired as a result- *or* went 'dark', not appearing in public so that if and when it all went wrong, MASK would still have *some* secret operatives to field.
@@rowanthursday5860 according to the episode "Green Nightmare", a crystal was given to Matt's father to use for good Matt had told Scott that the crystal was used to charge the masks so it stands to reason that Matt's father created the technology with the crystal

I knew this was bound to have VENOM's signature anyway. I hate them!!
I'm not sure I'm understanding how that works how is VENOM being able to see through things allowing him to see the combination to the safe. #Confused
The Word Is Move Out, Not Move In. Don't You Know Anything, Scott Trakker?
I guess Indiana jones stole the idea from this episode, then manipulates the story in a different way
WTF DID HE JUST SAY? "I'll just check to see that your junk is genuine" The stuff we got away with in the 80's I'm laughing so hard right now!
I'd forgotten that there was an episode with the Crystal Skull.
Way before Indiana Jones.
How can Dusty have Lifter and Spectrum? They should be in Thunderhawk!
+Thomas Fuchs I noticed that also. Matt and Bruce where wearing those mask when Mayham discovered who the leader of MASK was. The one thing this show has always had was series glitches, but still my most favorite show to watch growing up.
19.55: ora ho capito la ragione delle innumerevoli sfighe di Miles Mayhem...
can anyboby tell me y 80's thru 90's cartoons can put tha new millenium(mostly recycled)cartoons 2 shame?
I also think Capcom liked the skull and gave it to Wily later on..
Capcom - exactly who (STILL) makes the Street Fighter video games (my three favourite Street Fighter games are EX Plus Alpha, Alpha 3 and EX 2) [and I consider Street Fighter a part of Hasbro, after the 1993 toy line, which was part of the 1982 to 1994 G.I. Joe 3 3/4 toy line].
It's Sunday there is no one around so why not rob a bank and experiment the crystal
LOL

In reality; 5:51
9:27 Matt; 🎶Every now and then I get a little bit terrified when you're coming around.🎶
The PSA about calling the police applies to certain folks because it can indeed hurt or end in death.
21:00 I ain't no snitch
nice
i guess steven spielberg stole this idea. ha indiana jones who? Trakker is the man
Crystal skulls have been a well-known mystery for many, many years. Steven Spielberg doesn't have a monopoly on them.
I wonder y t-bob n Scott wasn't n tha 2nd season?
+Derrick Heron I hated Scott. Always got in the way of MASK doing their job.
Scott leads mask later on...... mehhhhhh at best as well. Dusty and his counterpart did better
Good point (just shows how this show was never as good as Visionaries, which - and I mean in a *good* way - was darker than this; this show was - of course, I mean in a bad way - 'too positive') [I like all 12 of the male Visionaries - all 6 male Spectral Knights - Leoric, Feryl, Ectar, Arzon, Witterquick and Cryotek, and all 6 male Darkling Lords - Darkstorm, Mortdredd, Reekon, Cravex, Cindarr and Lexor) [of course, I like all 8 Visionaries with power staffs, and the 4 remaining male Knights with vehicles, in lieu of power staffs]. Similar to what I say about Alex Sector's Jackrabbit mask, and Miles Mayhem's Viper mask, I only like when the 12 male Visionaries are wearing their helmets].
Off-subject, this is how I'd pair up each Spectral Knight and Darkling Lord:
Leoric VS Darkstorm
Feryl VS Mortdredd
Ectar VS Reekon
Arzon VS Cravex
Witterquick VS Cindarr
Cryotek VS Lexor
(yes, I know, it would make more sense to have Cryotek fight against Cindarr, as I'm aware what they have in common - strength - but Witterquick and Lexor have *nothing* in common) [even if they look like ninjas when wearing their helmets; that's only a minor thing the two have in common - they'd need actual abilities or traits in common]
My ability to like *all* the Visionaries characters (especially all the male Knights) emphasises how that show, looking back, was better than MASK.
T Bob kicked up when he was in the hole
Did George Lucas watch this? I wouldn't mind an Indiana Jones/Matt Trakker team-up.
well 2nd season was a bust more or less they only had like 3 episodes
There were 10 in the second season but you are right. I still to this day don't get why they needed to add some characters and remove others. The only new character I liked was Ali Bombay, and even he was barely used.
*You're* more of a fan of Ali Bombay than *I* am (I never liked Miles Mayhem's Outlaw gear, where his mask power was 'Python') [fortunately, I'm not trying to sound racist, when I say I didn't like Ali Bombay, where people could think I didn't like him because he was Indian].
As I reiterate, all I liked about season 2 (the racing series) was how (IMO) Miles Mayhem's new Buzzard gear (where his mask power was now 'Flexor') made him look like a Colonel (the way this season wasn't so popular, compared to this one - season 1 - is how and why we never got a third season of the MASK cartoon, where Miles Mayhem's new outfit, for season 3, would have made him look like a Sergeant) [and, to suit, he'd have gotten a new mask, with a new mask power, and a new vehicle].
You'll see, in another of my comments, to this video, who my only two favourite MASK characters are (and, another way season 1, of the MASK cartoon, was much better than season 2, which was the racing series - I only like Alex Sector's season 1 outfit, where he was the owner of Boulder Hill, and, vehicles-wise, was the 'Rhino systems commander', and, most of all, I like Miles Mayhem's Switchblade outfit, where his mask power was 'Viper', and he looked like a General).
Oh, and, under his Viper mask (in two scenes of 'The Roteks' - where he says 'MASK! I've got to keep them away from my roteks!' and 'You're not a hologram this time!', and in episodes like 'Highway to Terror', 'Video VENOM', 'The Sceptre of Rajim', 'Magma Mole' and numerous other season 1 episodes) [this is who I prefer him looking like, under his Viper mask] he looks like Dr. McCormick (from the episode 'Rupert and Ottoline'), as, in these episodes, the animators gave his face some sort of 'facial effect' (like with the movement of facial features like his eyes and eyebrows). In all other scenes of 'The Roteks' (and in season 1 episodes, like 'Death from the Sky', 'The Deathstone', 'The Star Chariot', 'Bad Vibrations', 'Curse on Solomon's Gorge', 'Dinosaur Boy' and 'Book of Power'), he looks like (of course, unmasked) Oliver Hardy (since, in these episodes, the animators simplified his face, by *not* giving it the facial effect). I definitely never liked Alex Sector's new outfit, that he wore in series 2 (his Collector gear, where his mask power was now 'Disruptor').
