I’ve encountered this very thing in my short time in ministry. When I came to the text, I preached the underlying theology to it (which was effectual calling/election). A congregant caught it. Looks Up John Calvin’s Reign of Terror In 5 years as magistrate of the Geneva “church-city-state,” Calvin oversaw 58 death sentences and the exile of 76 people. When Jacques Gruet, a theologian with differing views, placed a letter in Calvin’s pulpit calling him a hypocrite, he was arrested, tortured for a month and beheaded on July 26, 1547. Gruet's own theological book was later found and burned along with his house while his wife was thrown out into the street to watch

Thank you for sharing +
Sproul's answer on the ordination of Satan/sin/evil is great, but then MacArthur just nails it with I think the best answer on why it exits. Of course, it is for his GLORY because of who he is and putting on display all of his attributes!
These men are such amazing and great teachers , so very thankful. 💜 As much as I am skeptical about their Freemason involvement and language, I am even more grateful I think

“The Lord designed His kingdom from before the foundation of the world and He designed who would be in it from before the foundation of the world. ”Matt.25;34
God revealed his mercy by allowing sin in this world. We are the wheat among the weeds (which we would have been but for the grace of God). His glory is on display mercy, wrath etc as John McArthur said.
Sadly, there are a lot of believers that won’t ever accept reformed theology. I’ve known many of them that really hate the idea that God chooses whom he will, and hardens whom he wills. He is sovereign. Romans 9:18.
Isaiah 45:6-8 Authorized (King James) Version 6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. 8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it.
It is amazing how we accumulate the knowledge of God ,but donot question certain incidents that seems strange in certain scriptures of the bible. How can a Spirit kick another spirit from a place that have the existence of nothing.. Those of us who enters into this book that holds all eternal mystery, are not allowing God to unveil himself in the mysteriously hidden truths. There is only one God and there is no other. We as believers need to allow God to unfold and uncover himself from the mystery of truth. Truths that cannot be unveiled by man only by God.
Spurgeon had much to say about all the things a pastor must have in order to preach...voice and manner and content is very high on the list. Of preachers, R. C. and Jim Boice, Eric Alexander and Martyn Lloyd-Jones are men I can listen to for long time...and they are gifted! I must add Albert N Martin, retired now I am quite sure...but he was the 1st solid Reformed (Baptist) preacher/teacher I discovered, on cassette tapes at the beginning. I had been saturating myself in the Bible and in short, his ministry he had taught me very much, led me to some of the men on this video...and the Puritans, etc. We became good friends and oh, that I had been able to be in his local assembly every week, but I was very blessed by that gifted man of God.
@@uncasunga1800 Oh yes, Dr. Boice was wonderful. I never can find many of his sermons. There is 1,000's of R C's, Martins, even volunteers reading the Puritans.
I know this was 6 yrs ago, but I'm just knowing hearing this video, my question, which I wish I could ask these gentlemen is, how does a patent know if their adult child has been choose by God, if they have not received salvation yet? Would a parent have peace or dies the patent continue to pray for their adult kids in hopes that they turn to repentance and receive salvation? How does a parent not allow concern for their adult kids to become overwheleming?
It's not possible for us to know the true heart of anyone else. False professions abound. On the other hand, God reveals himself to us at the time of His choosing. We all come to faith at the time appointed by Him. So don't agonize over it. Pray about it and trust in His ultimate sovereignty. Whatever comes to pass is ultimately His will.
6:45 onward reminded me of the famous quote given by NBA's head coach Monty Williams during his eulogy speech for his wife's funeral: "When you lose something, you can't find it. I know exactly where my wife is; she's in heaven with our Lord."

Just tell the people to download the audio bible to their phones and e devices and to listen to it daily. So you will not need the "profundity" of these men. The NT promise of the covenant is that 1 John 2:25-27 and Jeremiah 31:31 et seq and Hebrews 8:7-13.
John I love you teaching I love your study Bible the notes are great I love how you always refer back to the Greek and Hebrewhow you use the sentence context in the words around it to describe what each word means why did you have to go and write your name so big on this study Bible it makes me feel like I'm reading John MacArthur's book instead of the Lord's word
My high-level response to this q is that Jesus was speaking of two important divine responsibilities which are to establish a life-creating (planning the concept of the doctrine of salvation) and sustaining(teaching) systems. The Pharisees did this mistake, The warning is that do not allow people to affirm your self made stuff in which ultimately, will make you to action or resume the divine responsibilities. More grace!
Is then "Sunday" a then a Sacred day, or Not, Seeing that though it is noted as THE Third Day, Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy; even though it is a day to do GOOD?
Revelation 19:14-16 Authorized (King James) Version 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
That wasn't John Wayne, that was The Virginian. And, as much as I miss RC, I am glad he was in glory, not here when Steven Lawson's sins were revealed.
These guys are great, except for not understanding the carnal Christian doctrine. Free Grace doesn't deny that a change takes place, it denies that we are supposed to look subjectively at ourselves rather than objectively to Christ for our assurance of salvation.
@34:00 Clement of Rome did not teach the doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone (Sola Fide), not a single one of Early Church Fathers did. This is why Luther in Table Talk said, "Behold what great darkness is in the books of the Fathers concerning faith; yet if the article of justification be darkened, it is impossible to smother the grossest errors of mankind." Clement of Rome in context reads... CHAP. XXX.--LET US DO THOSE THINGS THAT PLEASE GOD, AND FLEE FROM THOSE HE HATES, THAT WE MAY BE BLESSED. Seeing, therefore, that we are the portion of the Holy One, let us do all those things which pertain to holiness, avoiding all evil-speaking, all abominable and impure embraces, together with all drunkenness, seeking after change,(3) all abominable lusts, detestable adultery, and execrable pride. "For God," saith [the Scripture], "resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble."(4) Let us cleave, then, to those to whom grace has been given by God. LET US CLOTHE OURSELVES WITH CONCORD AND HUMILITY, EVER EXERCISING SELF-CONTROL, STANDING FAR OFF FROM ALL WHISPERING AND EVIL-SPEAKING, BEING JUSTIFIED BY OUR WORKS, AND NOT OUR WORDS. For [the Scripture] saith, "He that speaketh much, shall also hear much in answer. And does he that is ready in speech deem himself righteous? Blessed is he that is born of woman, who liveth but a short time: be not given to much speaking."(5) Let our praise be in God, and not of ourselves; for God hateth those that commend themselves. Let testimony to our good deeds be borne by others, as it was in the case of our righteous forefathers. Boldness, and arrogance, and audacity belong to those that are accursed of God; but moderation, humility, and meekness to such as are blessed by Him. CHAP. XXXI.--LET US SEE BY WHAT MEANS WE MAY OBTAIN THE DIVINE BLESSING. Let us cleave then to His blessing, and consider what are the means(6) of possessing it. Let us think(7) over the things which have taken place from the beginning. For what reason was our father Abraham blessed? was it not BECAUSE HE WROUGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUTH THROUGH FAITH?(8) Isaac, with perfect confidence, as if knowing what was to happen,(9) cheerfully yielded himself as a sacrifice.(10) Jacob, through reason(11) of his brother, went forth with humility from his own land, and came to Laban and served him; and there was given to him the sceptre of the twelve tribes of Israel. CHAP. XXXII Whosoever will candidly consider each particular, will recognize the greatness of the gifts which were given by him.(12) For from him have sprung the priests and all the Levites who minister at the altar of God. From him also [was descended] our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh. From him [arose] kings, princes, and rulers of the race of Judah. Nor are his other tribes in small glory, inasmuch as God had promised, "Thy seed shall be as the stars of heaven." All these, therefore, were highly honoured, and made great, not for their own sake, or for their own works, or for the righteousness which they wrought, but through the operation of His will. And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men. Amen CHAP. XXXIII.--BUT LET US NOT OWE UP THE PRACTICE OF GOOD WORKS AND LOVE. GOD HIMSELF IS AN EXAMPLE TO US OF GOOD WORKS. What shall we do, then, brethren? Shall we become slothful in well-doing, and cease from the practice of love? God forbid that any such course should be followed by us! But rather let us hasten with all energy and readiness of mind to perform every good work. For the Creator and Lord of all Himself rejoices in His works. For by His infinitely great power He established the heavens, and by His incomprehensible wisdom He adorned them. He also divided the earth from the water which surrounds it, and fixed it upon the immovable foundation of His own will. The animals also which are upon it He commanded by His own word(16) into existence. So likewise, when He had formed the sea, and the living creatures which are in it, He enclosed them [within their proper bounds] by His own power. Above all,(17) with His holy and undefiled hands He formed man, the most excellent [of His creatures], and truly great through the understanding given him--the express likeness of His own image. For thus says God: "Let us make man in Our image, and after Our likeness. So God made man; male and female He created them."[1] Having thus finished all these things, He approved them, and blessed them, and said, "Increase and multiply."(2) We see,(3) then, HOW ALL RIGHTEOUS MEN HAVE BEEN DORNED WITH GOOD WORKS, and how the Lord Himself, adorning Himself with His works, rejoiced. Having therefore such an example, let us without delay accede to His will, and LET US WORK THE WORK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS with our whole strength. CHAP. XXXIV.--GREAT IS THE REWARD OF GOOD WORKS WITH GOD. JOINED TOGETHER IN HARMONY, LET US IMPLORE THAT REWARD FROM HIM. The good servant(4) receives the bread of his labour with confidence; the lazy and slothful cannot look his employer in the face. It is requisite, therefore, that we be prompt in the practice of well-doing; for of Him are all things. And thus He forewarns us: "Behold, the Lord [cometh], and His reward is before His face, TO RENDER TO EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS WORK."(5) He exhorts us, therefore, with our whole heart to attend to this,(6) that we be not lazy or slothful in any good work. Let our boasting and our confidence be in Him. Let us submit ourselves to His will.
Ben Hartley does not mean that we are justified by works though. Justification before man, but not works. If justification is by works we are all damned. It is by the perfect works of Christ. Through faith as Paul said APART FROM WORKS OF THE LAW.
you have to be the most lying opposite of truth pervert there is. MArtin luther based His whole life on it and every single believer of the bible must accept that truth or continue in their self righteous denial and rejection of the Living God. simple. Obvious.
We must obey and fear God! Yet in truth through experience with each other Is how we know love from each other, if a person does not get love from anyone how would they believe and know love? So when you think of that ,that's why at some point it is common sense why some ask the question if God is love?...the only way a person will know God is love is with the experience from God! ...yet we will all taste death ...and so many tasting death will only have the experience of them praying for healing, but no healing came, praying for life, but only and always death is the victorious one! Of course those left alive will say :" he is in a better place" but why and how do we know that ? With faith? While our experience is God has not spoken to anyone since Jesus was on earth?
Grace is more than unmerited favor, it is divine empowerment. These men do not teach Grace, if such a thing is actually possible, but rather the Doctrine of Grace. In the words of Christ, in the Gospel story, in the messages of Paul is truth which operates as a seed (Mark 4) and is therefore empowered and empowering. "It will not return empty handed but will accomplish its task" (the regeneration of the human heart and the renewing of the human mind). This is what the word of God really is--"living and active." It is not even biblical to say that the Bible is the "word of God." How's that for a paradox. But no, Christ himself is the word made flesh. We are epistles of flesh, living letters. Christ lives in us "unless we be rebrobates." Above we have men who have stationed themselves at the gate, like angels with a flaming sword. They do not allow us to enter, "but neither do they enter themselves." (Scripture references omitted, as I speak not to the neophyte). Listen, those who have ears.
Isn't it remarkable how John MacArthur seems he has to always protect the Holy Spirit? So dutifully proud. John all you have to do is protect the sheep from the wolves and direct them to the infilling of the Holy Spirit -- Something you are not familiar with. Too bad. You cannot lead where you have not gone. So just sit in your finely appointed mansion and comfort yourself that while you are rich, you are not like the prosperity prostitutes.
Sad, most churches today has no clue what these men are teaching because they jumped unto a do it yourself, have it your way gospel that is built upon the pride of man called,The Free Will gospel The sovereignty teaching is foreign to most churches.
I would like to know how these men reach out to someone who's mother died of a heroin overdose and father was shot. Is it right to judge other pastors and churches who reach out to such people who are lost . And find fault with their attempt to do what they believe is right to the best of their knowledge of Scripture.
Why do evangelicals make up stuff like Christians can be born again yet still carnal, it must be people who aren’t born again themselves. As they are not doing these individuals any favours. It’s unkind as you can send people to hell.
Do you mean why did Christ make up being born again? Followed by John the apostle writing if any man says he is without sin is a liar. And Paul, O wretched man that I am.
GOD Must have known in advance Abraham would go to sacrifice his son, one of the reasons the lamb of God came to earth was when Abraham did what he did! ....God knew from the beginning who would live in the end times
i learns a lot with these men ,but very sad, feld unconfortable when the talk of getho as hell ,and in a very sadistic, heartless manner made alusion and fun of our gethos as hell ,as if those living there where not human ,and cut away from God´s grace because of where they live, none of them took the caution of saying ,we´re not talking of our gethos ,i know PASTOR JOHN macArthur ,realy believe so .

Sproul's answer on the ordination of Satan/sin/evil is great, but then MacArthur just nails it with I think the best answer on why it exits. Of course, it is for his GLORY because of who he is and putting on display all of his attributes!
Amen!
It's good to hear from learned passionate humble believers. (2Tim2:15) Great example for all ages. Cheers from New Zealand.

These men are such amazing and great teachers , so very thankful. 💜 As much as I am skeptical about their Freemason involvement and language, I am even more grateful I think
Freemason involvement ?
Please show me some proof of your accusation.
Pastor MacArthur with that subtle compliment to Pastor Lawson about his tombstone. Such a humble group of men on that stage.
[about Spurgeon]: "his legacy extends far beyond what is on his tombstone"
[turns to lawson]: "and so will yours"
That stunned me. Its incredible to hear these men speak. Their zeal for the word of the Lord
Thank you God for our teachers of your word this is so pleasing and peaceful 🙏 in Jesus name thank you Father 🙏
I’ve known of Dr. Lawson for a long time & I’ve heard/seen him on several of these types of discussions or Q&As & although I thought he seemed to know his stuff & had a kind disposition, I was selling him WAY short. He’s a great preacher & a joy to hear him preach. These men & couple others make me wanna be a better Christian. Make me feel hopeful. ❤️
Long live blessed men of God, faithful servants and teachers you guys have influenced lives of many . And your works continue to do so.
Ende! It's soooooo good to meet a fellow, habesha! Betam des yilal. I didn't know there were others who listened to these men. Wow! iyesus yimesegen!

lol love brother lawson, he takes such beatings from his elder brother Sproul but it's always in love and hilarious :)
Keith Thompson I thought RC is also his father-in-law?😅
indakgalak Is that true?
I just read it from one of the comments of other followers of the two. However, I have been searching for it and have not found a concrete confirmation, thus the question mark. Hehe! God bless Brother!

Great video, I wish the Q&A was longer!

The hand gestures is one of the traits I like about him 🙂

You can see RC wasn't well at this conference. He's free with a renewed body praising his Saviour now in eternity.
Ya gotta love Dr Sproul !!!
Yes it's so easy to live in the I should have or shouldn't have & thinking Life would be different perhaps much better !
God revealed his mercy by allowing sin in this world. We are the wheat among the weeds (which we would have been but for the grace of God). His glory is on display mercy, wrath etc as John McArthur said.
God makes some vessels unto dishonor. Why? So that He can display His Wrath. Dr. MacArthur is spot on.
That's last comment was perfect
Sadly, there are a lot of believers that won’t ever accept reformed theology. I’ve known many of them that really hate the idea that God chooses whom he will, and hardens whom he wills. He is sovereign. Romans 9:18.
Isaiah 45:6-8
Authorized (King James) Version
6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west,
that there is none beside me.
I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness:
I make peace, and create evil:
I the Lord do all these things.
8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above,
and let the skies pour down righteousness:
let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation,
and let righteousness spring up together;
I the Lord have created it.
I enjoy how each of the four panelists are wearing distinctly different tie colors. :D
James Montgomery Boice #1 👍

John MacAurthur, Scripture says: Call no MAN Father! Does this not mean we should NOT
accept final authority from any human?
My high-level response to this q is that Jesus was speaking of two important divine responsibilities which are to establish a life-creating (planning the concept of the doctrine of salvation) and sustaining(teaching) systems. The Pharisees did this mistake,
The warning is that do not allow people to affirm your self made stuff in which ultimately, will make you to action or resume the divine responsibilities.
More grace!

Revelation 19:14-16

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Man, I miss RC.
This is why Luther in Table Talk said, "Behold what great darkness is in the books of the Fathers concerning faith; yet if the article of justification be darkened, it is impossible to smother the grossest errors of mankind."
Clement of Rome in context reads...
CHAP. XXXII
Whosoever will candidly consider each particular, will recognize the greatness of the gifts which were given by him.(12) For from him have sprung the priests and all the Levites who minister at the altar of God. Amen
CHAP.
MArtin luther based His whole life on it and every single believer of the bible must accept that truth or continue in their self righteous denial and rejection of the Living God.
simple. Obvious.
We do.
Congregation would have been trying hard to hold their laughter while MacArthur spoke about the prophet.
Who is St Andrew and what denomination is RC?
All of them are Calvinist. They don't believe you have free will. So you couldn't skip the video. Or take a left instead of a right.

When man imposes his will on other men it's oppression. When God does it, it's not.
Feb 21, 2018 - Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now.
Listing to Sproul talk makes you realize how insane that man was.. "Its good there is evil".. wait.. what?
Gotta remember Felix, the person they quoted used that word to begin with. But I understand what you are saying, it's not really funny, those who will not inherit the kingdom.

God foreknew = God initiated, created the whole plan of salvation,
God predetermined = God created the execution (actualisation) plan before the foundation of the world.
Therefore, human history is all about God ensuring that his execution plan is realised.
