- Looking for cheap eats in Toronto Chinatown? I went on a Toronto Chinatown Food Crawl doing the $20 Food Challenge!
Toronto Chinatown in Dundas and Spadina is one of the largest Chinatowns in North America and one of the oldest in Toronto! I was on a mission to do the $20 food challenge in Toronto Chinatown to eat as much food as I can as I do this food tour.
Here's where I went in Toronto Chinatown:
1. Juicy Dumpling - 280 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario M5T 0A1
2. Hong Kong Island Dim Sum House - 248 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario M5T 2C2
3. 源香 Banh Mi Nguyen Huong - 322 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario M5T 1J6
4. Mashion Bakery - 345 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2G3
5. Ding Dong Pastries & Café - 321 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario M5T 2E9
Note: Prices as of July 2022 when I did the Toronto Chinatown food tour.
Hope this Toronto vlog gives you an idea on Toronto Chinatown and some of the best cheap eats in Toronto!

Thank you for the suggestions. Great video!
Thank you for watching! 🙏 Are you visiting Toronto Chinatown soon?
@@TravellingFoodie Yes, I will visit this weekend! Happy to see this video.
@@kramesh0289 awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
Such a fun video, thank you for the great ideas on good eats 😍
Thanks for watching, and so glad you enjoyed! 🤗 I have other Toronto food tour videos for good eats 😋
Nice video coverage. It was worth the trip to Chinatown. Definitely full after this food trip. Chinese Restaurants operate at low cost by using their own people or relatives & pass the savings to consumers. BTW, I love beef balls. We’re they good?
Thanks for watching! That's so true about it being run by family! The beef balls were good but smaller than normal especially for the price lol
These are good idea places for me to check out when I visit next month!
hope you enjoy them! And at least it won't break the bank too much 😆
Oohhhh!!!! They all look delicious!!!! I'm going to visit all these places next time I'm in Downtown 😋😋🤤🤤🤤 I LOVE sweets so I think Mashion Bakery will be my first visit
Okay wait Ding Dong looks even more delicious!!!!! I'll just go to all of them
Thanks for watching! Let me know how you like the spots! 🙌
for anyone looking now, ding dong went under and the rest are absolute fire. As a kensington resident, chinatown is an absolute win
Thanks for the update! That's too bad Ding Ding closed 😢
Salamat! You found my favourite places, Banh Mi Nguyen Huong and Mashion Bakery. Of course, if you went to nearby Kensington Market, you could do a similar challenge with Caribbean and South American food.
Walang anuman! So many good eats in Chinatown! Been trying to find time to do a Kensington Market version lol
More of these videos please !!!
Thanks for watching! You mean $20 challenge videos? Or Toronto food crawl videos?
Looked like a delicious meal of food! I didn't expect you to get so much especially with prices rising everywhere. I'm excited to try out the Banh Mi place when I'm in the area next.
So much yummy eats in Toronto Chinatown! Honestly, I was super surprised myself on how many items I was able to get! I thought I would only get 3-4 items initially 😂
Ban MI Is Garbage
@Mark-Lazer62, You mean this spot, or the food banh mi in general?
I knew Juicy Dumplings would make the cut!
The epitome for cheap and delicious dumplings 😂
I tried every food
awesome! which one was your favorite?
Every thing was good
so glad you hear! 🙌
Has the Chinese population in Chinatown changed from Cantonese/Hong Kong to Mandarin/China? There used to be a time when like 90% of Chinese were from Hong Kong, now the majority are from China and perhaps this has also influenced the food.
The entire Canadian population has changed from 75-80% white people to 75-80% mainland chinese and indians. gg Canada
That I don't know, but there might be statistics like that on the government site or the Toronto Chinatown BIA site
Are you Filipino?
Yes lol born and raised in the Philippines
Also, did my accent give it away? 😂
