    +++++! You must to make grounding switch! When I was little genius - I almost burn house (radio burn out), because lightning comes and my antena about 30m long take charge :)! Of course - this was not my house, but relatives house... Happy childhood... :) After this experiment my relatives understand - this is not normal child - he is dangerous! Curiosity is dangerous! :)

    In an old alternative energy book, probably a Mother Earth News publication, there was a story about a man that used a long wire collector to a spark plug to a capacitor to operate a radio.

    When I was a kid (late sixties) I had a lot of fun building a carbon arc furnace. I could melt 16 penny nails.

      Faraday? Nitinol?? CARBON ARC FURNACES ! What in the living Earth are u guys talking about . And why am i SO ignorant to it all ?? How does the Knowledge u guys have not find its way out - u are aware people are paying a FORTUNE for power as it is right?
