    I returned my 7800x3d for a 7950x… I edit 4k video and game at 4k and the 7800x3d sucked at having recording and streaming apps going at once and just took longer than my 5900x when it came to rendering. Got my 7950x for $420 price match to Best Buy so can’t complain there! If you just want to game this is the 7800x3d is it, but if you do a lot more save yourself the headache and time and go for more cores.
    Reason why I didn’t get the 7950x3d is cost and stability issues as a lot of people noted that to activate the 3DVcache you had to have the Xbox game bar installed and etc. more of a inconvenience than just a plug and play option with the 7950x. Save ya some money too!

    Every CPU doesn't have direct contact with the RAM, it goes firstly to the CPU cache, as X3D fetches more data from RAM, it gives more instructions for the CPU to process without having a bottleneck in between, ofc X3D for gaming makes a huge difference, since gaming doesn't stop running millions and millions of lines of code.

    I understand the 7800x3d is better in this specific scenario, but who buys a 4090 and 7800x3d to play 1080p? Another scenario i want to see is "would a 9600x bottleneck a 4090 at 4k?"

    • @nossy232323
      @nossy232323 Месяц назад

      If you have money for an RTX 4090 + a 4K monitor it would be stupid to not get a high performance CPU with it. It doesn't change the total price much and you will get better 1% lows. Plus there are games that push the CPU more than the GPU like real time strategy and some other simulation games.
      I have a RTX 4090 + 7950X3D + 240 refresh 1440P OLED monitor and in most games the CPU is the bottleneck.

      @@kerotomas1 Mate just stop, the newest Windows 11 24H2 and the improved 23H2 updates fixed the problem that AMD CPUs had on Windows, this was not a Zen 5 exclusive issue and not it is not 10-25% faster than Zen 4, Hardware Unboxed disproved that with their testing a while ago.

      @@yancgc5098 That's an entirely different thing watch the video from Tech YES City. Even with the patch Zen 5 is way slower on Win 11 than on 10. You can watch it yourself. The 9700X performs very close or way closer to the 7800X3D in Win 10.

      Only scenario that bottlenecks 4090. Going up in resolution and you'll see less and less of a difference, at 4k there's probably no difference but I'm still interested in the results.

      @@liberteusWell it does matter still possibly, it entirely depends on the GPUs load not being he resolution, if you're at 4k on an older game you'll likely still be CPU limited, not sure why people pretend that poeple only play the latest demanding games, there's plenty of people playing games that are older and less GPU intensive, 4090 or not

      @@liberteus Let me just put it extremely simple for you. If the particular cpu does not bottleneck at 1080p, it means you are totally safe at any higher resolution. Hence this test at 1080p. If you still cannot comprehend, It is on your iq and I give up.
