This documentary will make your hearts sing - promise. Fans of time traveling. Fans of birds nests. (You know who you are) Fans of good ol justice and humanity. Fans of Dr. Seuss. Seriously. It is awesome. The opening segment tells about a ghost village in Apice, Italy. Then via Borneo back to Milan, Italy more specifically to the prison of a 1000 possibilities. Last segment takes you to Alaska and a very tall tower made of houses that could be straight out of a Dr. Seuss book which is why it has the name Dr. Seuss House. Very cool.
    Enjoy!

As a person who served 7yr sentence here in the USA i must say i think this is def a much more productive way to get people on the right track. My life improved substantially when i was able to go to work and live in a somewhat normal dorm. I am now proud to say i have been sober for almost 8yrs and i still work at the same job i started in jail im working on yr 6 now. It is so much better on our mind to teach how to deal with life on life's terms instead of just sticking someone in a cell for 5yrs. I am also Italian by heritage so this is pretty cool

The inmates look and seem happy and content. I’m only on year 3 of sobriety but I’m getting there. Good luck to you, and congrats!

Depends a lot on where you live/are.. police from smaller communities are often much more open, nicer & helpful..
Esp when they learn, that you have no crimminal intent..
Bcs off the lower crime rate & when everyone knows everyone else in some way, people do less crime. Bcs you either know your victim or they know you & you'll have the police on your doorstep the same day..
He probably realises, that a team off journalists will help the locals to get their story back on peoples radar & could help in the efforts to rebuild the town..
So why chase someone away, that could benefit the whole area? Dosen't make much sence

We need places like that abandoned village in Italy. It should be restored because it is a very different way of life than people have now. It's a close community and to have family so close. I bet it was magical. I know a woman bought an old village and turned it into some kind of old world retreat of some kind, very cool.

It was a little funny, I can't lie, but I'm American. I can also read body language, so even though he was waving his finger, since he was looking back and forth directly at the people filming, I could tell he meant no ill intent.
Got any other assumptions about a group of people? Because of course, we're all the same.😑

American here. I have no fears of being killed by police. The odds are so incredibly low and 99% of those killed were criminals endangering other people's lives but that does not fit the anti-police, anti-self accountability narrative.

Nice documentary. I’m italian, I do understand it can be hard in a regular prison without the freedom....but I don’t understand why prisons are not yet selfsustained by the inmates. Everyone inside, can work a little and help the comunity. Otherwise they get the money they deserve for their job, but the community still has to pay for all the accomodation and the rest. I mean, it has to be fair for them, but still self-sustained, especially in those days of low community budget.

    • @rachaelb.

I agree! And some people don't realize that here in America, a lot of prisons are actually slave camps that work the prisoners at extremely cheap labor whereas the prisons make a killing profit. I'm pretty sure the people pocketing the money are higher-ups. It's such a broken system here. Prisoners are raped, mistreated, stuck in a drab cell with no privilges, forced to fight each other, have hardly any sunlight and eat a poor diet. They will usually re-offend and come right back into prison over and over. Prisoners are treated like dirt so it's no wonder riots break out resulting in a lot of deaths and no wonder they try to escape. I can't see prisoners wanting to escape this prison, because there's no reason to. They have free range! Sorry if I got off your topic. :P
