    Even getting past the Hurts/Sirianni/Stiechen thing, there was not a single player on this team who was better in the last game than in the first game.
    Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis faded; Sydney Brown was still an unknown quantity (even before the injury), Ringo stayed on the bench despite Bradberry playing terribly
    Nobody developed, played up, maximized their potential, or played smarter.
    Nobody learned anything they can take into next year.
    That's an extraordinary coaching failure.

    People really need to understand this. Nick Sirianni made no changes at all in the last 7 weeks of this season. The players were never going to play hard while the coaches kept running back the same gameplan. If your coach cannot adjust he cant be the coach.

      Mikey Philly you summed the whole Eagles situation up perfectly. Everyone checked out on Nick Serrini 7 Weeks ago IF you don't make adjustments or don't know how then you can't or deserve to Coach this Prestigious, Proud Eagles Organization " 19 33 ". Mr Long you are 100% correct 💯 Jalen Hurts is not the problem at all, the schemes, and coaches are inept. With a real competent coach Jalen and this offense would have excelled beyond last year. Egotistical coaching wil always get your butt handed to you every time as in life. Hurts and other experienced players would offer ideas on how to improve offensive opportunities and Nick Serrini would shut him down. Truly Atrocious, Atrocious........ Defense playing soft 8 - 10 yds off the ball our corners etc. In Short....... Get competent Coaching ASAP

    This is going to be a critical season for Hurts. We saw him develop a ton and play great the two years Steichen was here. But this year where he needed to take another step forward, he fell back into some bad habits, a major part of that being the scheme forcing him to. This upcoming season he needs to get away from those habits and take the next step as a passer and decision maker. I think hes totally capable of doing it, but i dont think Sirianni has shown that he'll be the guy to put Hurts in a position to do it. He had like half a season to adjust and he did nothing. So as much as it might be nice to give Sirianni another chance, the future of Hurts as the franchise QB i think requires Sirianni to go. We cant afford another Sirianni trial year in what will probably make or break Jalen's future.

    You’ve completely misread the situation, Ryen. As an Eagles fan I don’t want a pound of flesh. I don’t want to fire someone because I’m “disappointed“. Nick does not need to be fired because of his résumé or because of his win loss record per se, the reason that he has to be fired is because his team rolled over and died on him midway through the season. Once the coach loses the room, he has to go. it’s no longer a question of “deserve” or being rash, or any of that nonsense

  • @bobby_D

    It’s not Jalen Hurts talent or his play . I believe that Hurts and AJ Brown and DeVonte Smith and Siriani had an issue and it became a big problem towards the end of the year. This team has ALL the looks and signs of a team divided. The locker room is (was) divided and it cost them and that’s what happened in my opinion. It’ll all come out.

    • @kwoylee5617
      @kwoylee5617 10 месяцев назад +1

      Agree. It reminds me of Davante Adams when the Raiders were being coached (badly) by McDaniels. AJ Brown and Hurts are smart people and it would be infuriating to realise that not only was Sirianni hopeless at play design, but he was arrogantly refusing to adjust (because he didn't have the skills to do so), and was hiring the wrong people as coordinators - but, more egregiously - was letting players get hurt as a result. I think Hurts has been battling on injured for a long time, and AJ and DeVonte - both elite WRs - were disgusted with the coaching and play calls.

    • @TyReckless117

      I’ve seen reports on the fact that play calling has essentially sabotaged Hurts . Everything is down field with no proper protection for these plays to develop down field . Hurts stated he prefers to play short to middle passing game with equal , if not more running than passing . That’s the most logical way to run this offense , especially with the suspect defense

    Philly is a good example of what happens when you don't have an offensive minded head coach who calls plays. If your team is great, some other team is going to poach your coordinator. So the second your offense is great, you've got that 1 year with it before it's gone. If you don't have generational talent at QB that change is going to F your offense going forward until you find another one and can permanently damage your QB going forward. And even then, it looks like losing a coordinator has even effected the Chiefs this year.

    Why should sirianni be fired? For never adjusting scheme. For not putting Jalen in situations to succeed. For never adjusting his offense. For playing his starters in a meaningless week 17 game, which injured both A.J and Jalen.

    • @kwoylee5617
      @kwoylee5617 10 месяцев назад +2

      I think it's even worse than that. Sirianni put players at unnecessary risk of severe injury because of his lack of skill, experience and arrogance. That, to me, is the unforgivable thing. Compare that to how slowly and carefully Andy Reid develops his players, and the fact that he goes out of his way to prevent injuries from risky, bone-headed plays. It's no accident that the Chiefs always seem healthier than other teams going into the post-season.

But Ryan Day was our QB coach! But then there's also Brian Kelly, LSU, Luke Fickell, Wisconsin and Chris Klieman, Kansas State. Hungry dogs run faster.

    This season showed that the precious OC and DC for the Eagles showed they carried all the weight for the coaching staff. Once they left and it was all on Siriani, he couldn't put together anything and the team crumbled under his poor coaching. He's a front runner HC and was carried this season by the talent on the team alone. Without last seasons OC and DC he's just a hype up the team coach that lost the locker room this year.

    Love Stafford but I think we as a group (NFL fans) have completely memory holed the years of development it took him to get to this point, which included a lot of turnovers and being too aggressive. There were plenty of games Detroit lost because of him throwing a pick or losing a fumble. Look at the Thanksgiving game against Chase Daniel for instance, where he throws two picks (one a pick six) and loses Detroit the game. Not trying to take anything away from him, because he is great, but let's not pretend like he has always been the guy he was on Sunday.

    Hurts is the problem. People need to stop blaming the defense. He led a very talented offense to a net 7 points in a Playoff Game. All the defense had to do was give up 6 points or less, and they win the game. That’s impossible.
    But somehow Hurts gets a pass. It’s disgusting.

    Even when they were 10-1 I didn't have faith in them. The way they kept winning games was unsustainable. My fantasy team was eerily similar too. I won 5 games by less than one point and several games, the only reason I won was because my defense scored over 40 points.
    I started 9-2, lost a ton of games in the back end, and got yeeted in the first round of the playoffs.

    People in the comments constantly bringing up Josh Allen anytime Hurts is receives criticism is ridiculous. I like Hurts, good leader, clearly has talent. Remains to be seen how good he will be. Yes Josh Allen gets stupid with the ball at times trying to do too much but say what you want he can put the Bills on his back when it's needed. Hurts has not done that yet and this was his chance to do it over these last 7 games and was completely ass. Its not all his fault but he is the QB man how the hell does he just get off the hook. He does not look like he is commanding the offense or adjusting at the line at all. He is just kinda there.

    Wow! After the Eagles lost the other night and people were calling for his head, I looked up how many head coaches were offensive or defensive minded heading into the season. Out of the offensive minded ones who actually call plays for the offense, all but 2 of the 17 offensive minded head coaches called plays, Sirianni and Daboll. So hearing that analysis by Chris as well is great to hear! Also, at least Daboll had a track record of actually calling plays as an OC. Sirianni never did under Reich in Indy as Reich's OC.

    Steichen’s don’t just fall off trees, Nick is a liability and he doesn’t know what he’s doing. For six weeks he provided no answers to Jalen. He has to have great coordinators to have success and the second we do we’re getting plucked from and back to a guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing. It’s impossible to have sustained success under that structure and we’re going to continue to have rollercoaster seasons. Then you’ll have a QB who will probably have 10 different coordinators in his career and that’s never good. Blow it up 💣

  • @HawgWyldFishing

    Let’s blame the scheme for Jalen Hurts and the Philly offensive issues this season, and then just completely blame Tua for the fact that Miamis offense struggled. It had nothing to do with how they were having to scheme the offense around an offensive line that couldn’t pass protect or run block.

Hopefully they can find some better coordinators for next season. Go Birds!

  • @tjtotheb
    @tjtotheb 10 месяцев назад +1

    Jalen is not the problem, they can’t stop the blitz, what does the blitz target?! Jalen! He gets blamed for TERRIBLE, MEDIOCRE play calling, they want him to perform miracles but his receivers run straight routes and can barely beat coverage, there is so much more to blame then Jalen. If we lose Jalen instead of develop him we are regressing. We need an OC and DC that are innovative and understand that their AMAZING roster already understands fundamentals and can further their technique. While other teams are running beautiful routes with a scheme that takes advantage of any situation we are coming up short trying to bomb the ball. It’s dumb, it’s high school.

      Totally agree. I also think Jalen has been playing injured for a long time and has been put at unnecessary at risk all year from terrible coaching and play design. He's too classy to call out the piss-poor "leadership", but I think it explains the anger of WRs like AJ Brown and DeVonte Smith. Players were being put in terrible positions and getting hurt because of Sirianni and amateur coordinators.

    Nakobe Dean wasnt going to fix the middle of the field for the Eagles. Jordan Davis takes up 2 lineman, but guys on the outside arent getting to the QB. Jalen Carter hit a rookie wall early affer everyone crowning him DROY after week 6. And the outside corner players are too old. They were so bad, they made Kelee Ringo and Eli Ricks look like formidable options. Lastly, the o line, although ranked high by PFF, was not the same offensive line. Maybe its the distractions from the Christmas album, it definitely felt like Kelce was distracted by the podcast and the documentary and his mother and Taylor Swift. Also, the coaching change on defense was terrible by Siranni. At least Desai had some decent games, under Patricia it was all worse. Brian Johnson lacks creativity. As Kelce once said "its the whole team!"

    The scheme for Jalen was fine until the Niners exposed him for the rest of the league.. pressure him and send him to his left and he has no clue.

    The whole way the season turned out was honestly depressing as fuck . When we were 10-1 I never in my wildest dreams would of imagined the team imploding to this extent . We were ranked as the best team in the league the first 10 games of the season and looked like arguably one of the worst In the league the back half of the season . Fuuuuuuuuuck

    Ryan Russilo. Sirianni actively refused to change the offence. Complete stubbornness. Didn’t even try. Just stood his ground. That’s fucking stupid frankly.

    Love how Jalen (who doesn’t not play anything but high school backyard football) isn’t the problem but tua who who had the most injured team I’ve ever seen going into a playoff game and having to play in -30 weather is the problem ..you guys ever think the fact that he has no 3rd down option to throw to might be problem ?

    You can have regression virtually across the board in personnel but still be largely victimized by poor scheme. Those are the ingredients for the collapse we saw. Jalen is not a completely different player than he was as a Super Bowl QB last year. The major difference was the OC change. Get him someone competent.

    I like Chris a lot, but his take on Tennessee is completely wrong. They didn't look like they were prepared to play every single week. That's on Vrabel.

    Yo you know how people say the average guy can't run a yard in the nfl. Bro I put money on it. I can put my shoulder down and blow passed the eagles WHOLE defense and not just get a yard but get 300 plus yards in one game. I'm not afraid of any of them. Not Riddick not carter. NONE OF THEM.

    Dallas always narrates "this is our year" and all that BS. Anyone that watched the Eagles back half of the season and all the all-22 footage analysis could see this game coming from a mile away. I consumed so much philly media last week and no one was willing to put money down on the team winning. Philly Media were actively betting against them because they knew it was easy money.

    Jalen is part of the problem. This season he's proven that he's not in the top tier of QB's. He can't carry the team when things go bad like a Mahomes, Allen, and Lamar can.

    Running QB’s is always the problem….they don’t last and only have 1 good season.

    So they put up one touchdown against a mid tier defense in perfect weather conditions, the best o-line and Jalen is not the problem. Dolphins put up one touchdown against a top 3 defense in -30 weather and he’s holding them back. Jalen has excellent mobility and a great go ball to excellent weapons that they rely on all the time. It’s been that way for the past couple of years. I agree Jalen is not the problem but he has gotten a pass all season for his mid tier play. Tua gets roasted every loss for leading the league in passing and being top 5 in most categories with 3 hurt o-line starters, hurt receivers and backs all season and multiple different centers this year. I do believe he should’ve played better but I also believe Jalen should have too. They both deserve criticism but talking like one is trash for winning the passing title and the other is just in a bad situation is crazy. And I know tyreek is a cheat code but let’s not act like people weren’t talking about AJ brown might be the best receiver in the league mid way through the season, not to mention D. smith being a dawg too.
    But love the pod, keep em coming!! 🔥

    If you check the stats by the numbers, during the season Jalen threw between the hashes at 5.3 percent, that's bad that means everything else was screens or go routes, seriously only 5.3 in the middle of the field, the scheme was horrible can't blame the qb when he isn't given the keys the change these pathetic plays, then we get to the blitzing, how do expect Jalen to be successful if you don't design plays to protect him.from the blitz, soooo that 5.3 percent to the middle of the field is what killed him.
