A quick tip for Style 4, you don't need to make mattes and duplicate backgrounds... Just duplicate the "shape layer 1" remove layers styles as the video, put fast box blur and turn the layer to an adjustment layer. This can be toggled by clicking the circled icon that's half black half white between motion blur layer and 3d layer buttons.
This is awesome!! I'd love more videos like this (e.g. 5 MORE styles you should know, or like, a survey of all the styles you know of out there.. maybe "all motion graphics fall into one of THESE 20 categories")
Thanks Josh! Will this tutorial make it to your website along with the project file? There were a couple of places in your finished products where it would be beneficial to see the project file.
This is a great channel and these projects can definitely take your video editing to a more professional level but the presentations are too fast. I'm seeing *how* to do something but I want to know *why* I'm doing certain things to get an effect or achieve a certain result. *I want to know how to create ideas/certain effects without needing a tutorial.* I've been working heavily in Ae for the last two months to take my video editing to the next level but I don't want to always rely on tutorials to learn it. How did you learn to create so many different effects? Did you just do a lot of experimenting with the interface to see what effects you could create? Read through an Adobe Ae Classroom in a Book? I'm curious to know.
Hi Kenny. Thank you! You have to keep at it with learning. I've been using AE for about 15 years now. Once you get the hang of the software (effects, presets, expressions, animation styles, etc.), you'll be able to reference other work and be able to breakdown your ideas into simple steps. Also, problem solving is never ending as you push yourself into more creative projects.
@@SonduckFilm Thank you! I appreciate you responding to my questions. I just have to dive deep in Ae, test things out/experiment, take notes, do practice projects and in the end it should all come together. Just takes time.

I like the neomophic and glass style. Would look cool combined
Super useful, and broad enough in styles to cover tons of scenarios. Thanks!
Thank you! I’m still figuring out my style ❤
