  • If new car companies from California and China have more than 30% of the new car market by 2030 then that share has to come from elsewhere - who is at most threat? Join Host Dan Caesar, from Fully Charged along with Elliot Richards, and Riz Akhtar, Joe Rafalowicz, - and me (!) as we discuss why huge companies like Japanese automakers could disappear like Kodak.

    ABOUT
I'm that guy who took the Victorian Government to the High Court of Australia to rid our country of the world's worst EV tax. This was not only unfair and unjust, it was also a massive disincentive for new buyers of EVs and delayed our progression to cleaner/greener forms of transportation.

A very encouraging panel loved the Make Australia Great Again. I have owned an MGSEV for over 2 years. Done over 20.000km . Have some great positive conversations.

I've had a resurgence of people stopping me in car parks to talk EVs. Today someone wanted to know if I was planning to go back to petrol and was surprised when I said I didn't have any plans to return to petrol

The Good Car Co. is single handedly keeping Nissan EVs in Australia. If not for them, Nissan could hardly be bothered sending LEAFs over and indeed didn’t between 2014-2018.
Sakura would not even be seen in Australia if not for them

A question regarding EVs. The EV running gear is far superior to the ICE stuff, granted. So moving to EVs makes sense even if you do not consider the environmental aspect.
But ... and for me it is quite a large BUT.
Why do I need to give up on stuff that has evolved over 100 years if I want to drive an EV? I am talking about switchgear, levers, handles, latches, guages, etc. Just because that stuff can be controlled through an Ipad, doesn't mean it should be controlled through an Ipad. Tesla started this, but just about all other EV makers are following suit.

It’s cheaper to do it through a screen than multiple individual switches. I want separate AC controls at a minimum. Safety ratings are going to change to favour switches, so I think they’ll make a comeback.
