Hi Yes some of us say lippy. Can confirm i have and so has my Mum
Bull shit!
"Let's have some barbies tonight"👽
Lol
Baba grill💀💀💀💀
So bad
“Let’s have a barbie tonight!”
@@rodanfan2695😂😂😂LMAO SO BAD BRO I JS BUMPED MY HEAD BC THIS WAS TOO FUNNY
As an Australian, I have never heard anyone say 'lippie'.
When someones talking shit or running their mouth then theyre getting lippie
If someone says to someone that theyre getting lippie that persons about to get smacked across the mouth
I have never heard the term sickie either
lip balm it’s not to common now. But my nana uses the word still
It was the language used by most of us up until Gen Z who have either adopted all of the US slang, or made up stupid words that don't relate to the original. finna.
me neither… but i’ve heard the rest
As an Australian I’ve never heard anyone say ‘Crickey’ unless in a stereotypical Aussie movie
yup
I’m guessing crickey is a tv friendly word referencing the fact that a lot of Aussies cuss more than they actually use normal words.
crickey and u know australia zoo that was steve ewan’s fav word “CRICKEY”
Nah as an Aussie I say it but only to make something sound dumb
Oh crikey me toes hurt
"Normal English" is crazy 💀
They just meant like standard dictionary English bc the Australian words are slang
@@austencox5388Australia uses real words not just slang
.
P
O@@austencox5388
Im Australian and I've never said half of these💀
As an Australian, I am not sure if the woman who was doing Australian slang is actually Australian
I don’t think she is… the accent is off 🥴
No, she isn't Aussie. Accent's way off.
She's pretty though. 😎
So confusing. She's definitely not Aussie...
Mate she defo isn't aussie nobody says the letter r in barbie and arvo but I mean the woman doing the british one isn't british either so eh
I dont think the british is a brit too!
As an Australian, she's just making up words at this point
LIPPIE !?!?
CHEWIE?!?!
It’s more of a Gen x and earlier thing.
Youve never said lippie?
Damn
Its older slang but i use it and always have
@Midnightflopper What type of Australian mate, Tasmanian?
@@rule_one_editsthat’s rude to tasmanians they know what it is my best friend is from tassies
@@Vivi211j if U wanna call anyone rude, blame people and the internet, because according to some articles I had to look deep for and some people, it's said in Tasmania. It's rude Ur accusing me.
As an Australian, I can confirm we say the British type of stuff except for the Mcdonalds one.
Nah we say....mate, sunnies, sickie and maccas...where in Aus you from lol
They say maccies in midlands, England.
Yeah true
We say barbie brekkie mate arvo sunnies roo sickie maccas
Even British people say "mate"
Good day mate? Haveing a nice one no?
Today chewsday innit
P
I am Australian and sometimes I don’t say those words😅
I swear to god every time I see these I am convinced they’re talking to todlers
Hyy
As an Australian, I don’t say: barbie, roo, sickie, arvo and lippie
I say: barbecue, kangaroo, sick day, s’arv, and lip stick.
As an Aussie I say emmachiset when I want to know the price. And when it’s hot I turn on the egg nishner.
Same I don’t say any of Australian slang and I’m Australian
Who doesn't say roo? You Victorian or something?
I say a kinda combination of s'arv and arvo, I say: ✨️s'arvo✨️
I am Australian but don’t say those words too
As an Aussie no-one i know of had ever said "lippie" and chewie can sometimes mean something else😅
Mc Donald's
My mind: Meckiee
Last night, Pastor Imir Gashi of Pristina
shared a presentation about
the Protestant Christian faith in Kosovo
with KFOR Soldiers at Camp Bondsteel’s Peacekeepers Chapel.
Australians be like : WHAT?
Why would Aussies say that? These are all true and accurate.
Me fr rn
@@Oogidahboogidah umm no we don't we only say mate Macca's brekkie and arvo
@@Calm_shot wut? You don’t say that you “chucked a sickie” from work? You don’t say you “hit a roo” in your hilux? You called sunnies sunglasses? Must be a generational thing or a specific state/location thing because literally all of these are completely commonplace in my world mate. 😅
@@Calm_shot also… chewie? You say chewing gum? Never heard the old AFL heckle “ya got chewie on ya boot”???
Im an aussie and i think the women who was saying aussie slang wasnt aussie
I'll be lost if I ever visit Australia....😅
Almost words/vocabulary/phrases differences from motherland
Thats just a lesson for beginners here...have a taste of: I'll stop off at the bottle-o on the way and grab a slab o' piss kick back sink a few tins she'll be right
Most of us don’t even sound like that lol
@@lumberfox9176"Slabo'o piss" I'm fucking dead 😂
Honestly we barely use those “slangs” sometimes you hear things like “roo” istead of kangaroo
As an Australian a kangaroo is called a KANGA
No Its a jason
It’ll be called like 1000 different names
Nah mate.. in Victoria, we say "roo". I have heard 'kanga' up in Queensland though.
It’s a kangaroo
No it's Jack
We say for the McDonalds in germany "Mäces". Very similar!
That’s funny coz I swear I heard Germans saying maccas but I thought sicher nicht, das ist unmöglich
I think australians are so chill, that thay just make english words shorter, love this accent
Mate, this is not an original one. Yeah aussies are cool, but she ain't aussie.
P
@@user-gg5sm8fo3sfor real i’m aussie and she is not australian
General rule Australian add a IE to it and drop the last few letter
😂
yes right.
Hello how are you doing today?
As an Australian I’ve never heard Australia’s say these words even my aboriginal friends
Mcdonalds in the UK is pretty much universally called "Maccies" at this point
Can't be universally if it's just the UK
It’s maccas in Oz. 👍
and McD's.
Its because Australia has even changed signs to say maccas
As an aussie, this is the first time I've ever heard the word "lippie"
I'm not an aussie but I saw some aussies comments saying that ''lippie'' is an old slang so that's why people don't use it often nowdays 😁
@@SAFAEFAFA ah interesting! Thanks!
I’m Australian and I have never had an encounter of someone calling a kangaroo a “ roo “
Edit: I also didn’t know they didn’t say sunnies in other countries
I have but it’s rare
yeah same
i hear ‘kanga’ more often 😂
Yes fr @@aoife_sch
Seriously? You’ve never heard of”be careful there’s a lota roos around tonight” when driving?
Bro I take this back how come I comment this and now I hear it EVERYWHERE
As an Australian, I have never heard someone refer to lipstick as "Lippie" or chewing gum as "Chewie"
i feel like talking to an Australian person might feel like talking to a child with those abbreviations 😭
Just like talking to a American is like talking to a brick wall
As an Australian….
WHAT ON EARTH IS A LIPPIE, CHEWIE, ARVO, SICKIE!?
Lol fr
The new generation dosent know the old generations slang is funny af😂😂
Three of those are UK slang too... (Mate, sickie, and macca's)
More than three.
Maccas is Australian
And lippie, sunnies, and brekkie
She's making words up at this point
The accent just sounds like a new English beginner.
As a Aussie and I have never in my life herd someone say Lippie 😂😂
Hii
@@jyotimodimodi hii
I love how they say chewie instead of gum 💀
we dont lol ive never heard anyone ever say that here
@@angelatte8862 maybe it’s from a certain part.
Hii
Gum is just so American, I swear if an Aussie said to me they say gum, I’m sending em to America 🇺🇸 🦅
All the Aussie sayings in this are used here daily in Britain. Righto, brekkie, no worries.. etc etc we're very similar which is GREAT.
Hyy
Yes 🙌🏼
I’ve never heard any Australians use Australian slang and I was born there and never left that country
Brekkie and Maccas are the only ones I’ve heard but barely any of it
I'm Australian and I can say in my 13 years of living I've never heard a single person say ,lippie ,Chewie or , sickie
I’ve heard chewy and sickie
Chuck a sickie is like the most common phrase ever
Wow! Are you twins? You are two really beautiful girls!❤❤
Simp
Yes i can confirm it is brekkie in Australia
Nah
English: quick
Australian: quickie
Hii
Australian girl looking so adorable
She is European and you can tell by her accent
The “crikey”
At the start😂😂
"Let's have Barbie grills tonight"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's not Australian, there's no such thing, you are simply mentioning the difference between formal and informal English, which by the way are exactly the same in the UK, Australians are descendents of British people therefore the language is exactly the same
are you kidding?
Does that mean Afrikaans is just informal Dutch, or French is just informal Latin, or even that Armenian is just informal Proto-Indo-European?
You ignore that what's considered 'standard' is decided politically, not how language actually works. Languages are unequaled standard because of where they seem to originate from - but, if this pluricentric language has multiple differences in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary or even more, what inherently makes one 'true' and the rest 'aberrant' ?

I recently took a trip to Australia and heard it called Maccas. I loved it, and I kind of want to call it that from now on 😂
I heard mate a lot in the UK, but they use for strangers..like asking some strangers if they’re ok
no ❌
naurrr✔️
I am still thinking who is more prettier 😂😂
as an aussie half of this ive never heard before
As a Brit I’ve heard more Brits using Australian slang for most of these words than the actual word itself.
I say:
Barbie ("I'm chucking the barbie on for dinner")
Brekkie ("Eat your brekkie")
Arvo ("It's gonna be hot this arvo")
Sunnies ("I lost me f***ing sunnies")
Sickie ("Yeah, I'm chucking a sickie today")
Maccas ("Wanna go for a maccas run?")
I've heard people say mate and roo but I don't use it. No idea what a lippie or a chewy is. it's just lipstick and gum.
I say skippy for a kangaroo / wallaby.
There is no way in hell this women is Australian 😂
Burger king in the uk:burger king
Burger king in austrlia:hungry jacks
Some of us Australians don’t use the word crikey😂
Im a Australian and i never heard anyone that said criky, brekkie, lippie, barbie and arvo 👁👄👁
I thought chewie was the partner of Han Solo
This totally reminds me of Bluey
Hello Melissa, how are you doing ?
Let’s have sum 🎵 I,m a barbie girl! 🎵
Barbecue is Barbie 😅
As an Aussie I can tell she’s not from here more of a immigrant that just moved here and only knows stereotypes there not true
As an aussie i can confirm we say "chuck a sickie"
As an Australian I’ve never heard a single short word except for roo
“Lets eat barbies tonight”
We say some breakkie, mate, sickie and Maccies too in 🇬🇧

@@jyotimodimodi hello
“Hey mate what ya grilling?”
“Oh I’m just grilling some Barbies up here.”

If there was money on the list it would be dollarydoos😅
I just realised we just add “ie” to the end of the world 😂😂
hot Australian vs cold British
I love you girl ❤❤ happy new year ❤❤
for some bloody reason i call sunglasses sunshades and i am from australia
as an aussie, we only say like 4 of those
(mate, maccas, sometimes sunnies and sometimes arvo)
Sickie is also a popular one, but mainly people who have a trades job, or even a normal job use it, it's another way of saying Ur gonna have a day off work so U say, "gonna chuck a sickie"
As an Australian this is not how we say half of these words like what
In all my 15 years of being a Aussie I have never heard anyone that lives in a city of Australia like Melbourne or Sydney saying barbie lippie 😂
About the mate thing we usually say friend I don’t know anybody who says mate but if it does happen it’s usually the boys
I remember way back in 2009-10, one my friend said that in foreign country they don't pronounce full sentence while speaking. He gave us example by making it half as the slang mentioned in the video. First question we asked him how do they pronounce london in a slang word. I hope all Indian whose mother tongue is hindi will understand this. 😜
As an Australian I have never heard someone say lippie barbie arvo roo sickie chewie
as an australian myself, i have never heard anyone say "lippie", "sickie" or "roo" and then "barbie" is an american stereotype
Im an aussie and ive literally never heard anyone use the words “chewie,” and “lippie,” unironically. Rarely ever hear the others apart from Macca’s, mate and brekkie lol.
OMG they gonna turn everyone into ocker bogans lol
I thought a roo was a rooster😂
I love learning new languages
You can tell the chick in the 'Aussie" slot is just british and searched up Aussie slang!
Normal English: kangaroo
Australian: pet
australia just tries to make every word as short as possible
Hii
I think I’ve hear kanga for kangaroo more then roo my whole life
Chewie? Just gum will do
Australian English is real English. The woman on the left isn't from an English speaking country, so I don't know why she's the ambassador of an English accent.
Barbecue got me 💀💀💀
Brekkie , sickie and mate is all uk slang too
Ik for a fact Australians love making the words short by adding ie in the end , that’s how selfie came into existence
As an Australian I’ve never heard of lippies, sunnies and chewies
Bro even as a NewZealander this sound really weird i have never heard an Aussie say “lippie”
Telll me why the aussie one sounds british 😭
Another thing that we say for kangaroos is “Kangas”
Hello , how are you doing ?
I had an aneurysm please do not help me. Let me pass on into the next life
As an Australian I do not call chewing gum chewie how ever I do use lippie
Hello Bonnie, how are you doing ?
Nicely done
All the Aussies be saying they haven’t heard of these 🤦♀️ they’ve gotta be in the bloody city to never have heard some of these btw it’s ‘chucking a sickie’ not just a sickie
