- Arcade to VGA Video Adapter Installation. This shows how to install a basic video converter card for when you replace the CRT in your arcade cabinet with a more modern LCD or other flat panel monitor. This is a RGB/CGA/EGA/YUV to VGA video converter board HD 9800 / GBS 8200.
Matt, thank you so much for this video. It was BURIED in the search results. I've been looking for weeks for something to show me what I was doing wrong with my adapter. Turns out, it was the yellow wire. I recommend adding accurate tags to this video so more people can find it. There is a serious lack of information online about these adapters.
Excellent video! Straight to the point, thank you! 👍
Did you get from AliExpress? I have an old Cherry master machine. Pulled out the CRT monitor and have the same board. I tried the RGBS connector and the wires it came with and no matter what I don’t get a signal to the monitor. I can adjust and see it’s hooked up. But won’t put up my game
I don’t have a white wire I have a yellow and a gray coming from my video board along with the other colors, should I just put gray to gray? LED monitor on a snk guerilla war. I could hear the game playing but monitor has no picture.
I took the tube tv out but is there a way for the sound to come from the new tv I installed? Just wanna get rid of the whole cabinet and place the tv to my wall....
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that your Brunswick uChoose Kegler Family Exciter Kids Collection video got marked as “for kids”. I wanna see if you can fix that soon.

To rgb 12 pin out to jamma?
What cords do you sodder ?
Cords? You mean wires?
Nothing needs to be soldered really. You can solder the wires together if you want to but any standard wire connectors (of the correct size) will work.
In this video, he used "butt" connectors to connect the 5 video wires and "fork" connectors on the 2 power wires to connect them to the power supply screw terminals. Your set up may be a bit different, so use whatever connector work best for your configuration.
@@MoreEffinCowbell lol ya wires lol
How do you connect the converter to the arcade board
Yeah i was wondering if you connect the lines from the jamma harness or from the crt board?
@@will1867 A standard jamma harness attached to your arcade board should have the RGB connector you see in this guide. Hook that to this convertor as shown.
@@moonchild666 mine is wired up a bit different. The wires that are connected to the crt board are colored different and it has two connectors on it.
@@will1867 Get you. Not sure in that case. Try one of the arcade forums. Usually pretty helpful.
@@moonchild666 yeah I'm going to do that. Or I'm going to rewire it. The guy that built it like did a load of crazy stuff. For an example taking a 16 gauge wire and then connect it to an 8 gauge wire with a butt connector that's meant for a 6 gauge. Using normal house hold wiring from a living room lamp to light up the marquee. ( which resulted in huge scorch marks in that area...... I'm really surprised it didn't burn down)
