  • A sneak peek at the N scale BART Model Railroad. My Fremont station represents, well, Fremont station. This is a compressed model, with short (4 car) platforms, and no A85 interlocking, but I think it captures the overall feel of the station (back when the parking lot was full).
    The cars are all handmade, with photo-edited textures representing specific cars. They have a 3d printed core and photo wrap. I also have Automatic Train Control, which runs all mainline trains - just like real BART. DC, not DCC (so those C cars are even more accurate haha)
    The legacy fleet cars here include the following:
    A2 car 1164 - first of the A2 car fleet
    A2 car 1210 - damaged fiberglass cab, with a "Mustache" shaped repair
    B2 car 1677 - nothing unusual, just had a cool roof pic to use on this model
    C1 car 417 - final Zoho One ad wrap C1 car, still in service
    C1 car 432 - another C1 car still in service
    C2 car 2551 - the first photo wrap was based on this car
    The layout is not done, but it's a huge endeavor even at a moderate size and I will be posting further videos as I progress.
    This isn't a professional layout, just something I enjoy doing for fun. Technically, it’s the BART model railroad division of the San Francisco Bay Area scale model transportation layout - including ferries, busses, and rail. More to come later.

    It’s funny, because Fremont is my hometown, and I must say you’ve got the BART station almost perfect lol felt like I was back in Washington high school for a second lol

    I am in awe. The detail in this video is beyond incredible and I am curious as to what you used to create the third rail look. please share.....thanks.

      Thanks, it's balsa wood with a photo texture of the third rail/coverboard

      @ATPTransit thanks. My layout is HO scale and I was considering cutting a few drinking straws, painting them, and placing them as covering for the third rail, but I haven't found the right size just yet. I'm hoping this idea will work.

    Awesome model trains, are these made of paper?

    • @ATPTransit
      @ATPTransit  Год назад +2

      Partially. Paper photo-texture wrap with a 3d printed core, mounted on Japanese chassis (motor and wheels)

    I've always wanted to do this back in the day in HO scale though. Never could find the trains then I did from Walther's or something like that, but now a new company is making them, but not sure I can do the full new Bart system. LOL I do have the original track or central control layouts, and there is a new train simulator program you can make your own transit system with, I'm thinking on doing Bart on that, but we shall see. Then again maybe I can get a new layout of the system know and do the new system in that new sim.

      A friend of mine is working on a BART route for the game Trainz @urbantransitdevelopers. I made one for the original system in Open Rails, but haven't updated it in quite some time

    Hi I enjoy your Bart content and I’m a Bay Area native myself. Do you have any instructions on how I could build these trains as a N scale? This a a dream for me…

    • @ATPTransit
      @ATPTransit  Год назад +3

      Hi Chris, I made these cars myself - they are basically modified photos serving as a paper wrap on 3d printed carbodies. The motors and wheels are from Japan

    Have you ever ridden Bart trains that have a C car as the front car and an A car as the back car?

      Yes, many many times. Some examples - 0:00 at ruclips.net/video/Hf04m7rUS5I/видео.html; 0:00 and 1:37, 4:37 and much more at ruclips.net/video/3P7ZsKdvOnc/видео.html;

    Ik im late but What material did you use to make the train models?

    • @ATPTransit

      3d printed core, Japanese chassis, photorealistic paper wrap

    How you make it ATC so the trains run automatically?
    You should make a tutorial

    • @ATPTransit
      @ATPTransit  Год назад +2

      It's an Azatrax Pickle Fork PFRR controller. I'll showcase how it's all linked together when I finish and clean up the layout.

    • @ATPTransit
      @ATPTransit  Год назад +1

      DC with Automatic Train Control

      @@ATPTransit it would have been cool if it was a DCC. But it's still super cool though
