I hope you're not storing your other kayak on the boondox landing gear, you can crack your kayak that way.

Was there supporting foam added inside around rectangular hatch to strengthen when standing? Looks great regards, Danny ;-)

The foam is added in by Hobie at the factory to strengthen for standing and to add floatation, I just moved it out a little further due to the rectangular hatch.

Hobie has a video installing the square hatch. Dan did a great job with the upgrades. All notes I'm taking when I finally get a Hobie Compass.

The paddle clip on the side... I just use one and it works well for me. What cart do you use if you don’t use the Hobie one?

Nice. I just wish it had one centered but good to know one works just fine. And we use a C-Tug with it works pretty good

Can you explain the difference between the 180 ARC and non-ARC 180?
Looking at the Outback and Compass for 2019, but the big difference is the camo Compass comes with the non-ARC 180.
Aside from the button adjustment, are these changes between the two? I'd imagine; why else all that R&D just for a button adjustment instead of the shaft clamp adjustment?
    Thanks!

As far as I know the only difference is the way you adjust them

      @@BlueSummitOutdoors Thanks for the reply!
That's crazy to me... But it's the only difference I can find anywhere I read as well.
Seems like a lot of R&D for not much of an upgrade.
I have read that the older model can have a little bit of play left to right when pedaling. Wonder if the ARC model is more stable in that regard.
Hoping to hit up Delaware Paddlesports this evening to check them out and compare.
      Thanks again!

How does your wife like the seat? Heard both good and bad.

    • @BlueSummitOutdoors
      @BlueSummitOutdoors  5 лет назад

She really likes the seat with one exception the bar in the back I've heard of putting a pool noodle there to pad the back-bottom portion of the seat frame. So we are going to try that. Other than that's it's very comfortable and simple.

Great, thanks for your response. That really is my only concern with the compass.

It's a valid concern I thought it was pretty comfortable but I only used it for around an hour. Longer trips it may become a bigger issue. Check out the Hobie compass owners Facebook page there's a bunch of post on the seat in there.
