I haven't been able to get my hands on Ozempic for over two months. Dr. Elliott switched me over to Mounjaro a month ago but my extended med. doesn't cover it yet. I've gained over 450 lbs because of this!
I was told no matter what is the power or concentration of tirzepatide in a vial, whether 2,5mg or 15mg, that I always have to take the whole vial, as it does not contain any preservation agents in it, so after an hour after the vial is once stabbed through by a needle, there is a high risk of bacteria contamination…
My pharmacist told me to split and several clinics have been doing it too. It works and nothing goes bad. Just a scare to waste money. I've been doing it this way since I started 3 months ago abd down 33 pounds....
Insulin stays in the fridge & you repeatedly use the same vial (with sterile syringe), so mounjaro may be similar but I'm not sure about air, maybe refrigeration prevents the issue. I'm not risking it with my mounjaro though, I just follow instructions
You should not be promoting the use of using one vial for multiple uses. There is no preservative in these vials so you run a massive risk of A: infection from bacteria and B: it's effectiveness isn't the same. it's also not approved by Eli Lilly either.

Thank you so much for this amazing informative video!
What units for 5mg instead of 15mg that you listed. Would i just cut the units down to 1/3 ??
If you get 15 mg vial and need to split it , how many times can use the same vial after opening?

I throw the excess away as it's more than 0.5mL
