Nice shot of the ripper at least when i watch ur videos it make s me feel little better since i know im not the only one the breaks something literally every day lol u got love it keeps me busy
One thing about you Matt, you sure live an adventurous life! Know it's hard going lots of times, but I still envy you.r ability to cope with your misadventures. Thanks again for the critical information you impart with each video you publish.
I was going to ask about how much the ripper would destroy the soil health you'd tried to build, but you answered that very well. I know when I was farming, the rippers did tear up the surface.
On the new style MacDon draper heads, they finally started to use carriage bolts to hold the knives on instead of the spline bolts. They're so much easier to change now. I wish they would have done that 15 years ago. I've cut the crap out of my hands over the years punching out the broken bolts. Good luck with the rest of harvest!
Why is people planting cover crops that dont yeild any grain. When you should plant wheat or oats and make money on it. Does that still count as a cover crop. Just asking a question. Thanks have a great day be safe
That was no cheap piece of hose, could the old one not have been cut and a new piece joined in? Just more extortion, that pin for the front loader sure opened my eyes but ye gotta keep on keepin on. Hope ye get a wee rub of the green for the remaining harvest.
Once a hose fails in one place it’s likely close to failing in multiple places. Also the fittings to make a splice on a hose that size could be several hundred dollars too. Better just to replace the hose and not have to worry about it for another 12 years.
take my advice from someone who has delt with trees around a fild it would pay you to go around all you,re fields just one or two pasess to cut tree roots i have some of those fittings on my cat they are high you might save that old hose repurpose it back on something with lot less pressure im sure you are not wasting time money ripping it will payb
Unless you’re using it all the time? It’s not worth it to purchase the hose and fittings because of all the variations in size and fittings that gets rich quick. It’s actually cheaper to have someone else make it up.

Awesome Video as Always!!!
Ouch😅 that hose hurt my wallet, and I didn’t even have to buy it. Glad to see your bean yields are doing decent considering the drought.

Ole motor parts and bearing in Milan. Smart folks great to deal with.
I work with the ones in Humboldt but Milan is a good crew too
Matt i work in logging we had a 1 1/2 8 wire hose explode on us 8ft long sucker was 2k bucks.
Being you are ripping the fields that are going to corn next year in your crop rotation each field will get ripped every 3 years??
Matt you make multiple decisions in a single day!!
The most expensive hose you've bought so far... 😅

I’ve explained it extensively over the last 4 years. Go back and look through some old videos
That does seem high for one hose. I think that dealer would have been double.

I cut tree roots this past spring
My guess was $1200...not proud of it. It's just that I've had a few hoses made...

Time to buy a hose crimping machine

This. I would have to carry several thousand dollars of inventory in fittings and still likely not have the right one.
