I will tell you exactly what to use to clean the fuel tank on the 806 . Go to your local hardware store and purchase about two gallons of MURIATIC ACID. Just strap it to a tire like you said and spin it for about a half hour. It'll clean it out like a new tank. I've done this with a few tanks now and they turned out shiny clean.
For the corn cribs, we wrapped 1" chicken wire around the thing 6ft high. The holes are too small for the deer to pull the cobs out yet big enough to let it breathe.
Nice purchase on the 806. That algae is hard to get rid of. I think that Power Service makes a product called Bio-Kill. I and several of my friends used that in our 18 wheelers with good results. Also your fuel supplier should be able to get you something. It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to use something in your fuel barrel for preventive maintenance. Love watching the Uni at work. Corn looks good. God Bless to the family and stay safe. 😉🍀
I have a 806 with a turbo that has had 150 hp for as long as I can remember. Was our big tractor when I was a kid. I'll never get rid of it. Nice purchase.
If you can get the flow control to work will help a lot to keep the ears from going over the back. Mine will throw them over even with the deflector down if I up the flow.
Just wanting to let you know that I have dealt with bio diesel a lot. I’m a heavy equipment for the US Air Force down here at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and enjoy your videos. The way that we cleaned all of our tanks when they had bio diesel in them was soak it for about a day with purple power and then steam pressure wash after the soak. I hope you’re able to get the 806 fixed up. God bless
Run a steam genie or hotsy directly into the tank and it will cut the algae out of it. Takes several times, but will clean it out. Hope this helps. Good looking tractor!
Alan, fantastic deal! The tires and rims were worth 3000. The biofuel is a killer especially to older tractors. You're correct, the longer the biofuel sits in the tank and goes to a tar and then gets hard. I have a 570 Cockshutt that sat for 15 years, all rubber lines had to be replaced the pump and the injectors had to be sent out. It sounds like you may have gotten the problem solved before it got to the pumps and injectors. You will need a strong battery and a glow plug and good fuel, you'll be fine! But the yellow paint has to go! It's probably out there crying! Also if you have a chance to get a product called Miracle Oil, old tractors need sulfur that the new diesel fuel manufacturers lack. Great job, Skip, Western PA
Nice new to you tractor, my grandpa had a 786 which was his "big" tractor on his dairy farm till he retired in the late 80s. That tractor looks similar brought back memories of my childhood
Hey Alan and Family . Congratulations too our New tractor ! Have alltimes good luck with the machine an good work !! -- we said to the Diesel Problem : Diesel Pest. I look for the english translation for Pest . .it is the same as in German : Pest ] -- Best greetings from north west Germany from Bert !
$5000 for that tractor sounds great new tires set of duels good loader runs good. You’ll always have some little stuff to work on. You have great video content, and a great family.
Good to see the 806. As a kid used one. That was what my dad had for his big tractor. He added a rooster booster. Basically if you wanted more horsepower you would turn this on which gave it a propane boost. When he had it installed and they tested it the horsepower was 118. Could pull a 21 foot disc without duals. Miss that tractor. Good to see corn picker back in action.
after you harvest put the heffers in thare to graze they will love it thats what we did in the past old farmer it wont hert them at all and i used to use uii for seed corn i miss it . jim senft
Sure looks like a good purchase! And you were blessed to buy it for 5K! (Those new rears cost half of that....) Real steel too! Tricky cab mount....never saw that before. RedKote tank liner if rust is found. Junk bearing rollers and balls (basically what ever will go through the fill tube...) for abrasive tank cleaning. True story: a Tallahassee radiator shop's old proprietor pointed to his gallon + of many years' worth collecting "bits and pieces" pointed to it and declared it his "most valuable assett!" And I believed him after, no, actually even before, he cleaned up a "hopeless' gas tank from a 1954 Intl. One-ton. And trust, there were some weird "bits and pieces" in that gallon! He had fabbed an inclined, slowly-rotating elec. motor driven universal mount that he could strap most anything to .....necessity; the mother of invention. Always enjoy your videos. Here comes (like it or not) Ol' Man Winter! More heating videos soon? Got yer chimney clean? Nevermind, I know you don't have that chore with your super-safe outdoor "kettle." After all, it's not called "Minnesnowta" for nuthin....
I really like your corn picker, your elevator, your cribs, you could put a tarp where are you unload the corn to the elevator, so that you could keep all the corn kernels that come out of your wagon. Next year, you could put a 12 inch board around the sides, and the back of your wagon to increase the carrying capacity. That would also keep the carbs from flying off the back of the wagon.
I bought a truck that had sat for 2 years with tanks full to the top with bio fuel. Had a problem with the black algae Used a additive called “ killem “ Worked very well for me
With cleaning the tank you can do gas and put nuts in it bolt nuts works good on scrubbing out the inside of the tank when you put it on the back wheel
When I lived in Western Kentucky on the Mississippi River, the farmers all complained about the crap fuel they sold the farmers. It was full of sediment and just garbage. Their take on it was that they gave the crap fuel to farmers and kept the good fuel for themselves.
Was my favorite time of year and my favorite thing to do. The 705 and later the 708 was the only thing on our place that had a cab. Have a really Good harvest!
Allen I bought 1655 oliver with bucketon it in 1996 it sat for 2 1/2 yrsi in old barn clutch was out and diesel tank was nasty I put gas and pee gravity in it I tie it on 4 wheeler then I strap it on in side of rim of tractor did that 4 or 5 time it work 9 time all together good luck I like your tractor very good deal 👍
Only doing 4 rows will definitely help, but some of the cleanliness could be the corn variety too. Try the same again next year and see how it does again
You might have to use a harsher liquid in the fuel tank than gasoline, talk to a radiator shop they should have suggestions. If you strap it to a tractor wheel to rotate, add a 2' chain inside the tank to assist in cleaning.
Tks for sharing. The new manure fork looks nice. Oh so does the 806. Diesel does have a way of getting jell up. Corn harvest looked nice. Ears look big and full..
Congratulations on the 806. We have a 856 and it's the only tractor that has run every piece of equipment we have. We a farm similar to yours in size and equipment
Uni system brings back memories. Worked for a New Idea dealership late 70's early 80's. Looks like a 705 or 707 paired with 737 husker. Very seldom a 737 was paired with a 6 row head.
Congrats on your purchase and good luck with the 806! Glad you're giving it a good home. You may want to try a mix of high-strength vinegar, Dawn dish soap, and baking soda to get that tank cleaned. Make a small mix of it and try it on the pan that you have sitting and see if it makes that sludgy stuff get liquefied. If it works, put a bunch in the tank and do the strap to the tire trick with some nuts and bolts. Rinse it all out with water then put a gallon or two of gas in there and roll it some more. After all that you should have a good as new tank, assuming the vinegar/dawn/baking soda stuff does the job!
Run draino in the tank we get the granular if you can find it and slosh it around In the tank we did that for our h and it made the tank look like new inside
That new 806 is awesome! Looks like Should not be to bad to get a piece of glass cut for it. That closed up cab with all those cold winters you have up north(i’m in KS) I had a combine tank get the algae in it. There is a biocide product i got for dieselkleen that worked well and i just flushed it with gas or diesel(i don’t remeber now) Been good since.
Well I was wrong in my choosing I thought for sure would be a combine but that looks like a really nice tractor looked like it sat inside it was taken care of and I think it'll work real nice for you on the farm. Yeah I heard that biodiesel some bad stuff because you saw what it does ethanol doesn't do that in gas motors but what it does is it dries out all your rubber hoses and then they get hard and crack and then you have to replace them so they're trying to make new fuel that runs cleaner but yet you have more problems with it.
Wow, thanks for sharing the new news..I appreciate how you get it done..between driving the school bus(right?), family, and the farm, not necessarily in that ordr is amazing..especially with little ones. We had a model FARMALL and it looks identical. It's really intrstng to watch your area&how rural it is. We have some by in NJ, I hope for a long time. Plse bring us along as you get the 856 ready for spring. MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY
Hotshot diesel fuel cleaner is amazing stuff I promise you I used it in my 96 dodge diesel 12V and in 50 miles I could hear a difference in how it sounded and a difference in the power I have complete confidence in it or I’d never tell you about it and they have a treatment to use after when you fill up
Sorry I hit the wrong button I had that bn that we rebuild a few years ago when you were working on yours. Bought a 464 gas job 2 years ago last spring that had the same issues it had set 15 years with about 6 in of fuel in the tank it took us about the first 10 months that we owned it to get it put right by just cleaning the tank cleaning the lines and changing the fuel filter but it's working really well now
@theburnhams2925 I was in on doing one ,3weeks ago, parts cleaning fluid wouldn't touch it. We tried several other things also, finally, we were told to use acetone, worked like a charm. You can fool around with stuff that sorta works or you can get the stuff to do the job. Enough said
Nice 806 👍👍, it's kinda rare to find a good shifting 06 series that wasn't switched to a 56. I like seeing the uni in action, I sure miss doing ear corn
Best of luck with the new purchase, once you get over the teething issues you will have a good tool, the corn cribs look a lot bigger since you put the gates around them. How much do they actually hold? Presumably you have already finished picking and have them full.
I'm not sure how much they hold. Just finished picking last night. Still have some to combine, but we have some wet weather coming, so that will have to wait.
I remember unloading ear corn at the old sheep farm in IN I enjoyed that job its peaceful
Cut a piece of chemical barrel for your spout on your picker. Easy to work with and light weight.
No need to worry Alan. Whatever needs fixing, you can fix. The new tires alone make your purchase worth while.
18:43...........corn picking and moldboard plowing videos are my favorite.
Thanks for the corn picking video today.
Those two plus haying could watch all day
You got a deal! You will LOVE that 2350 loader, on and off in 30 seconds. They sure are SLICK!
For the corn cribs, we wrapped 1" chicken wire around the thing 6ft high. The holes are too small for the deer to pull the cobs out yet big enough to let it breathe.
I did that one year, but I had the chicken wire on the outside, a the deer pulled it all down.
Nice purchase on the 806. That algae is hard to get rid of. I think that Power Service makes a product called Bio-Kill. I and several of my friends used that in our 18 wheelers with good results. Get those rims painted ASAP. So wrong, just wrong😢😢
Those yellow rims will make it run better
Saw your comment on Trinity dairy. Where are you at in Western PA I'm near Butler

Nice new to you tractor, my grandpa had a 786 which was his "big" tractor on his dairy farm till he retired in the late 80s. That tractor looks similar brought back memories of my childhood
That was a heck of a deal on that tractor it looks good, but you gotta paint them rim. Silver lol
Love that uni!! 👍. POWER SERVICE makes a product that will eat all that algae
Love the unicorn . Nice seeing the 806 . Great video Alan , God Bless .
Hey Alan and Family . Congratulations too our New tractor ! Have alltimes good luck with the machine an good work !!

I love the new tractor but you gotta paint those wheels brother.
Yeah
That drain pan looked like it had been under a BBQ! That Bio Diesel is some sticky Stuff!
after you harvest put the heffers in thare to graze they will love it thats what we did in the past old farmer it wont hert them at all and i used to use uii for seed corn i miss it . jim senft

👍 Good Looking 806👍
A good deal? You stole that thing😁👍 awesome 👌
Ih 806 was probably one of the best ever made! Great deal and congrats on the new ride!
Great tractor!!!
Congratulations on the new tractor.
Farm is looking good, the new IH is nice as well you guys enjoy the rest of the week
Lead bbs in the tank and tumble with gas like your mechanic said. But the lead shot will make a big difference.
Add some dog chain if it's really gunky
I bought a truck that had sat for 2 years with tanks full to the top with bio fuel.
Had a problem with the black algae
Used a additive called “ killem “
Worked very well for me
Love the 06 series. The 06 and the 66 are my favorites of all time.
With cleaning the tank you can do gas and put nuts in it bolt nuts works good on scrubbing out the inside of the tank when you put it on the back wheel
Very nice job and a good looking tractor and may God bless y'all with lt
Like what you were useing on the elevator. I have one I bough when I was 14, 69 now. The man I got it from bought it new.
Great addition to the farm
Congratulations on the new to the farm tractor. Looks like a good machine.
Nothing like a man with a plan ! Dang you got a great operation I love it nice and straight forward keep on farming

Use acetone to clean the tank it'll clean it right up as long as the seams aren't sealed with lead
Acetone...The universal solvent
Nice purchase, we had a 886 with a 2250 loader and that was the easiest loader to mount and dismount, 1 person and about 10 minutes .
Congratulations on the 806. We have a 856 and it's the only tractor that has run every piece of equipment we have. We a farm similar to yours in size and equipment
Looks like a nice tractor addition for your dairy! Enjoyed the video! Take care and be safe...
I’d painted those rims!!
Not going to happen until it gets warmer!
Uni system brings back memories. Worked for a New Idea dealership late 70's early 80's. Looks like a 705 or 707 paired with 737 husker. Very seldom a 737 was paired with a 6 row head.
It's a 704 with an 839 husking bed.
Try a pressure washer will be able to get most of the sludge loosened up and dumped out.
Get a pressure washer nozzle that pivots should be able to get most of the tank.
They make a drain cleaner end for power washer with multiple angled jets bet it would work great
Congrats on your purchase and good luck with the 806! Glad you're giving it a good home. You may want to try a mix of high-strength vinegar, Dawn dish soap, and baking soda to get that tank cleaned. I have seen that about strapping the tank to a wheel and drive around the clean it,Edward from Vermont
806 will look pretty awesome with the snowblower on it this winter
That new 806 is awesome! Looks like Should not be to bad to get a piece of glass cut for it. That closed up cab with all those cold winters you have up north(i’m in KS)

Hey Allen,,very reasonable price on the 806. Looking forward to seeing you push through the last of harvest.
Well I was wrong in my choosing I thought for sure would be a combine but that looks like a really nice tractor looked like it sat inside it was taken care of and I think it'll work real nice for you on the farm. That 806 diesel is a great purchase!! The fuel tank just get some kar
Kerosene, that should clean the tank.
Very awesome video!!
Congratulations on the new tractor guys! Keep up the awesome videos and god bless!
You got a good price on that tractor, ought to give you a lot of use.
Nice to have corn for feed this year
i use laquor thimmer to clean my tanks
Looks good
Thanks for sharing this with us

Yep, still driving bus.
We have a 1066 at work doing that same thing on the fuel
That pitch fork is really nice. I know of a 4020 that has silver rims so u could swap rims and tires and save all that painting 😊
Jeremy from Wisconsin. Hey Alan a few planks on the back top edge of your gravity box may help the 🌽 from flying out.
Filling corn cribs my grandfather would put up plywood with Tposts to hold them up from the outside. It keeps most of the kernels in with the cobs.
Hotshot diesel fuel cleaner is amazing stuff I promise you I used it in my 96 dodge diesel 12V and in 50 miles I could hear a difference in how it sounded and a difference in the power I have complete confidence in it or I’d never tell you about it and they have a treatment to use after when you fill up
Thank for a good one. Got a chuckle out of The john deere fork rollout
Very much enjoyed the video! Hi 5's on your 806. If anyone knows vintage diesel Binders, Alan, it is you!
Love my 806, works great on the bagger..nice buy, congrats.
Can't wait to see the new tractor in action.
Good work 👍
Great video guys good luck with your new purchase ❤
Great deal! I have many hours on a 806 your going love it.
Nice tractor hope it all works out for you 👍
Everything is good congratulations
Sorry I hit the wrong button I had that bn that we rebuild a few years ago when you were working on yours. Congrats on the new purchase.
Hi
The best thing to use is acetone for cleaning the tank, gas doesn't seem to do much.
Parts-cleaning fluid gets my vote.....acetone "leaves" (evaporates) much too soon, and is rather dangerous.
@theburnhams2925 I was in on doing one ,3weeks ago, parts cleaning fluid wouldn't touch it. We tried several other things also, finally, we were told to use acetone, worked like a charm. You can fool around with stuff that sorta works or you can get the stuff to do the job. Enough said
I have hauled those panels out of Texas. What would a farm be without a B Farmall. Lol. Thanks for sharing.
When you sell the 830 case, keep the loader. Always good to have at least two loader tractors around the farm.
We still have the 530 with the loader.
Congrats on the tractor. I'm sad it's not an oliver 😢 now you just need a 100 series an 86 and 88 and you'll be there.
Nice 806 👍👍, it's kinda rare to find a good shifting 06 series that wasn't switched to a 56. I like seeing the uni in action, I sure miss doing ear corn
Yeah I couldn't believe how smooth it shifted.
Old school pickers brought all the corn to the barn except on corners. Needs to be a holding bin while turning or a monster hopper right on picker.
Nice unit
Love your channel
another great video
Best of luck with the new purchase, once you get over the teething issues you will have a good tool, the corn cribs look a lot bigger since you put the gates around them. How much do they actually hold? Presumably you have already finished picking and have them full.
I'm not sure how much they hold. Just finished picking last night. Still have some to combine, but we have some wet weather coming, so that will have to wait.
Might try to clean tank with acetone.
We had one and u can put the fenders on
