  • In this shopify shipping tutorial, I will show you step by step how to setup your shopify shipping rates inside of your store no matter what type of fulfillment you're using. If you're dropshipping or shipping orders yourself, setting up the correct shopify shipping rates is important, and by the end of this video you will know exactly how to set up a bunch of different rates for different countries.
    We cover all 3 different shipping rate types including price, weight, and calculated shipping. We also go over domestic and international shipping, as well as creating new shipping origin zones.

    Our main shipping center being China....I have a question!!!
    So I import products from aliexpress using oberlo, and after that I go back to oberlo import list where I select a product and there's a section where I can change things like variants, colour, shipping method etc. So on shipping method I can only select one country and can only choose one method. My question here is that on the shipping method what if I set as USA epacket and then a person from different country buys that product what will happen?? Because obviously shipping rate will be different. How should I handle that!!

      @@DeeDee25ism Hi, look. What I did was testing multiple countries I plan to sell and see the shipping rates of them with a lightweight product and a heavy product (depends what are you going to sell and the provider you choose). Start in your current location. Then test countries nearby with the same conditions. After you calculate an average shipping rate you can create a flat shipping rate based on those countries you plan to sell products. That's how I'm going to test it.
      Or you can set your store as free shipping store and include the shipping in your product price and just round-it up the shipping price and set price. Hope any of both scenarios works for you.

    Hi! I have set 3 parameters in shipping rates based on weight. 1g to 1kg, 1001g to 3000g, and 3001g to 6000g. If an order exceeds 6kgs, is there a way to just "add" the shipping fee based on the excess. For example, if the order is 7kgs, the excess is 1kg. The theoretical shipping fee would be the shipping fee in 3001g to 6000g category PLUS the shipping fee in 1g to 1kg?

    We offer free shipping on any order that is $55 or over.
    Currently, we use an app called ADVANCED SHIPPING RULES to set all of our shipping rates
    .When a customer spends $55 or over they get free shipping BUT if they spend lets say $75
    but get a $25 discount and truly spend $50 they still get the free shipping based on the $75 amount.
    What the app (and all other shipping rate apps I have contacted) stated is that the only amount that pushes to their app to calculate free shipping or not is the GROSS $ spent before the discount. They don't get the post discount final amount. any help?

    Hi there. Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question for you. I have a new store and 40 different products with all different size boxes. I had a customer order an item that weighted 4 lbs so her shipping option was USPS for $4.90; however, when I went to print the label and entered the dimensions of the box it was $16.00 from UPS to ship it. I'm super concerned about having that much to absorb from this wrong shipping. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it. I've seen the Business Shipping app which you have to pay a fee for and it doesn't take into account weight & dimensions either, you have to just set an amount per item.... Anyway not sure what to do. Many thanks!

    • @jarrodlatshaw9860
      @jarrodlatshaw9860 2 года назад

      I'm guessing this has to do with dim weight somehow. If your package is over a pound its calculated differently. You need to calculate the dim weight or dimensional weight. Basically its (Length*Width*Height)/166. That gives you the dimensional weight. This dimensional weight corresponds to 1 of 8 zones from shipping carriers. The higher the zone number the higher the cost of shipping. Usually when there is a big discrepancy its because quick estimates on your site don't give you live carrier rates. Shipping services use cost of the dimensional weight or the cost to ship the regular weight whichever ends up being higher. I don't know how much you are charging for your products so think low cost products and high weight is basically the worst thing to ship. High cost products and low weight is the best. Think a vintage television versus apple airpods. When I had a product that I was having trouble estimating shipping for I weighed, it took dimensions, calculated the dim weight and chose the furthest place possible to estimate my domestic shipping costs to estimate what my cost was in a worst case scenario. When you learn what products are working best id recommend reducing the total amount of SKUs. When you learn which products are selling best and in what regions then (if you reach scale) use a 3PL service to move your inventory closer to customers and potentially use multiple fulfillment centers. This could reduce your costs dramatically. If you have 1 fulfillment center in LA and one on the East cost you can auto ship products from the closest fulfillment center. This will lower the zone number you ship to and thereby reduce your overall cost. Take where you are shipping from, get a distant zip code, use the FEDEX estimator tool then select "ground shipping" this would most likely be closer to actual costs for your worst case scenario if all items in that SKU had to ship to your worst destination. Plan off those costs. www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home (choose "Get Quick Quote")
