Let me clear up some confusion. The carpincho sign you saw has a picture of a capybara, which we call carpinchos around here. The ones you've been calling carpinchos throughout the video are called "mara" or liebre de la patagonia. Both are rodents and have similar faces, therefore the confusion.
@@German___ ahhh ok thanks for the info!
Germán lo explicó claramente. @@GarryMikal
I saw them too and we joked "is a big rat". They re cute though. The ex zoo is indeed beautiful to go
The ones with the long legs wandering all over the park are maras (also known as Patagonian hare). They were there too when the park was still a zoo! They just own the place. The ones chilling inside the feeder were probably nutrias (which you'll find sometimes translated as "otter" but they're a different animal, they're also known as coypu or coypo). A carpincho is also known as "great capybara", so you got confused there.
The weird bird when you talked about security was a chajá. The one with the guanaco was a ñandú
As far as i know there are still capybaras in the ecoparque, i think they just didn't came out because of the weather. Great video.
There are a couple capybaras but inside their enclosures
@@Avardent-h4z yes, they aren't just walking around in the park
28:57 In reality those are not Guanacos, but Vicuñas. Vicuñas instead of Guanacos are the wild ancesters of Alpacas, like a wolf to a dog. But it's correct that Guanacos are the wild ancesters of Llamas.
The Guanaco was the one chilling at 18:53 . A good way to set them apart it's by watching their head since they have a darker/greyish face. Also by their size since are bigger than Vicuñas (usually double those in weight).
In Argentina people with bad manners may be called Guanacos, since they can spit your face without warning. 😂
That rabbit like thing It's called MARA, carpinchos (capybaras) are bigger
Maras man, a Patagonian 19:07 Jackrabbit😂😂 close to a jackalope but with no horns😂😂
Those rodents are "mara". The mara is a desert animal (no water). They are related to the carpincho (and the guinea pig), but the carpincho is a wetland, amphibious animal (literally flooded landscapes.
The carpincho is the same animal as the capybara.
That place looks so cool!
Hey Garry! I don't know how I ended up here but...I'm dropping a courtesy subscription and a like. Good luck down there.
Thank you! I'm glad you found us!
They are everywhere!
God bless you Garry
Bro wanted to see some capybaras, only saw tons of "carpinchos".
Carpincho is the local name for the capybara. And those hare-like creatures are actually named "Mara".
Buen video. Saludos desde Mendoza 🇦🇷
Those you call "capybaras" are actually "maras patagónicas" a rodent a little bigger than a rabbit or hare and have some resemblance to the capybara but the capybara or capybara is much bigger, almost like a pig, it is the largest rodent in the world.
The small ostrich is called a ñandu(Rhea in english)
these animals are from Patagonia region... they are hares and we call them Patagonic hares.. they eat plants, grass
I am ashamed of what you said about that kid scaring the bird, fucking parents should teach them how to treat an animal.
Nice place for a walk around.
@@DCSinger613 really nice!
Mara or patagonian hares were the ubiquitous guys
They are super chill. This park left me feeling divided when I was there though, some of the animals they still have living there aren't really fit for something claiming to be a reserve...
They are called "Maras" or Patagonian Hare. They're cute!
if youre in buenos aires you should go to temaiken
Maras!!!! beautiful Patagonain hares....they are just lovely and quite friendly
The real name of nutria is COIPO
The bird at 13:40 is a "chajá" or "screamer": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_screamer
The ecoparque makes a lot of emphasis on not being a zoo anymore, they take animals and try to rehabilitate them
That's a Mara. It's a Patagonian Hare. The big rat is not a rat but a Nutria or Coipo.
They are Maras. They live in Patagonia Argentina.
Mara patagónica
Carpinchos are capibaras in Spanish
11:45 those are cuis or mara
the one inside is feeder is a coipo or nutria "large water rats".. carpinchos are bigger and is call capibara in English
No cuis, those are Maras, Cuis is another type of rodent
Un cuis gigante? 😄
@@rafaelmendoza1069 la leyenda
Never trust the weather report! 😂 They rarely hit the spot with their "predictions"
@@Scaly_prince so true
They are maras
carpincho=capibara. And yes, they are very social in wild life and they are ussually no much scared of humans or other animals. those there are very youmg. thayb get to be so bigger than that
you have to go to Temaiken
But he said he didn't liked zoos
He said he didn't like zoo
@@tazylab6233 it's not technically a zoo, it's a reserve
The real name os carpinchos is CAPYVARA
In Argentina are Carpinchos, not all countries call them the same way. There's not only one name to call it the "real" name.
