So youtube are making me replace the song, considering I got the song from an app that says they use songs with no copyright, frustrating to say the least as I put a lot of work into this video, not sure how this will go, so apologies in advance, if they let me change the music or if it means just a section. I hope it wont ruin it for you. talk soon, God bless
Sorry re the song trouble, thats a hassle you clearly dont need, hopefully youve cleared that hurdle? For sure a lot of time n effort go into preparing these vids (not just the music) n i know we all appreciate it! :)
That place must have been amazing on its day. I watched the video and didn't even notice there was no music. Sue doesn't let anything like a locked gate stand in her way! 💜⭐⭐⭐⭐💙
Sue. I. Give. You. A. 👍. Even before I. Watch you. Walkthrough the. Cemetery...I. Know it's. Going. To. Be. Unbelievable..all. The. Time.....God. Bless..u .
The castle must have been magnificent in its day. Loved the history. I never would have guessed there was cemetery inside the walls and I can't believe you climbed over the gate. Thanks so much for sharing and God Bless
Fascinating history this family has, I have just read the very long history on Google of 'Ducketts of Duckett Grove' and it explains why she was only left a shilling etc. It also has photo's of how the outside of the house looked in it's earlier years, so beautiful. Thank you so much Sue, amazing place with beautiful gardens. Never admit to anyone that you gained entry by climbing a fence (especially on you tube) I thought you leant against the fence Sue, and as it was such a low waist high fence you accidentally toppled over to the other side. 😊 Great work! You could always sing something you made up yourself and play that as your theme song 🎼🎶🎤💕🇦🇺
It was only a tiny waist high gate so I'm sure it was OK 😅 I think all graveyards and cemeteries should be accessible by everyone, can never understand why these places are gated, it was a beautiful place, even now in its state it still is beautiful ❤️❤️thanks as always Liz, oh if I sang I think ye would all unsubscribe 😅
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I agree with you we should have access at all times but sadly there are too many vandals in this world today. I'm sure you would sound lovely singing Sue. Great video though I did enjoy it 💕🇦🇺
How unusual that they would build such a high wall around the graveyard. How sad that they still have lots of room, not to be filled with more family. Thanks, Sue for all your efforts. They are appreciated.
Hey Sue, another great video. What an impressive fascinating tour this was. The castle itself has such a varied n curious history. I cant help but wonder how different history mightve been if Maria Duckett hadnt disinherited her daughter Olive...we'll never know. Thanks also for the tour of the cemetery, the location was interesting, in the wide open field, away from the castle...so quiet. It was a wonderful tour, thankx! :)
🙋♀️ SERENITY SUE... I'm just catching up. I love history... What a beautiful house/castle. The gardens are stunning... Peaceful. Thank you for sharing 😁🇦🇺🌹
Graves and castles.. my favorite videos. I am trying to imagine just how grand that castle would have been in its hayday. I would rebuild some rooms and live in it now. So peaceful there.
Wow this was a big place in it’s day..It’s in a beautiful setting too. It’s got a lot of different sections on it showing the add ones throughout the years..It’s sad really that after the fire no one did anything to it for so long.It would have been great it they could have at least restored the front part.It could have been opened and would soon pay for itself if they used it for functions too.The gardens would have been full of colour. The first one looks as though it may have been the vegetable and fruit garden and the second the floral one.The hedges would have been much lower and everything planted out neatly in each section. The floral beds would have had flowers throughout the year ,both to look pretty and to be cut for displays indoors too..You can just imagine the ladies of the house or their guests walking in the garden with their beautiful silk dresses rustling behind them, and their parasols to keep the sun off their skin.Such glamorous times for the well off ladies…It was nice to see that their graveyard is in good condition and that someone has put faux flowers on each of the graves. This was a lovely adventure Sue .Thank you..Love n Light 🥰
The grounds of the castle are SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!! The banshee and ghosts sound ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!! I wouldn't want to encounter it in the daytime nevermind at night!! AWESOME video, Sue!! XXXX
What a beautiful place would have been very grand in its day .Love the ghost story too .Great video Sue .Thanks for the work you put into your videos take care .🙏
A locked gate will never prevent you from bringing history to us. The castle is such a mix of builds. I love the Gothic gargoyles, with their grotesque facial features. My grandmother told me the story of banshees, told to her by her mother. The story went that they were old women, with long black hair, who would come at night to comb their hair as they wailed a terrifying sound. I subsequently learned that the sounds were made by female cats who had come "into season" and were calling to Tom cats. Having had a cat who did exactly that at just 4 months, the sound is just awful. She was taken to the vet promptly to be fixed. I presume many parents were just too embarrassed to tell their children about the birds and bees 🤣
What a great history and beautiful castle. My ancestors come from Scotland and there are alot of castles. Scotland is so dreary and makes them look haunted. Excellant video. Thank you sweet Sue.❤😊❤😊
Wow amazing well done video Sue. I spend a few weekends here every year. My experience with Ducketts Grove started off as a paranormal investigator but has turned into my home away from home. I absolutely love this place. Thank you for an awesome video
Hi Sue. Once again, a great video. It is very nice that you give some history where you go to. I envy you !! Oh how i wish i could live in Ireland. I would settle with just visiting there. So beautiful scenery.take care and God bless Sue.👍🏻❤🙏
@@SerenitySueGraveyards - Yes it certainly is, i've only ever read about it , so to visit today was great. Would be wonderful if they could restore to it's former glory!
The castle ruins and grounds, and surrounding countryside are spectacular! The family cemetery is pretty cool as well. Two fires in a short period of time? Either there were some incompetent servants, or perhaps some servants who favored Olive set the fires to get back at the step-mother for that one shilling affair. Or did the fires occur long after that? Great video, thank you very much Sue and GV.
Great video of Duckett's Grove Castle, the grounds and the architecture are stunning. Its a shame it is just a shell of what it once was before the fire but there is a haunting beauty to it nontheless. Oh, I loved the paranormal history you spoke of surrounding the location too which was spookily interesting 👻🪦
Such a beautiful ruin. Two statements made came into my English side of the family when my G.G.grandfather married an Irish lady. Basher, & they ' apparently ' did not use. However tey are well in use generations later. Her name was Elizabeth Dalwood, her father was a Cork Dr. . Http castle ... Please fix these old Hours.
Hi Sue. Could you imagine living in this castle by yourself for 23 years !!!! It makes me wonder why the woman lived in only one room for 23 years. Ghosts maybe !!! Take care and God bless Sue. ❤👍🏻🙏
One other item, i read where theres talk (to what degree i dont know) of the site being open for some nite-time tours for those imterested in the paranormal.
You were not chased by any ghost or banshee, lucky you! I was thinking of what a great vocation it must have been making little stone heads for windows and the such. May I ask? Who owns this and pays for upkeep? Just curious. So you climb fences? Quite the resume you have going.
If there's a cemetery I think everyone should be allowed access, It was a very low fence and gate so I think it was OK 😊❤️🇮🇪🍀 carlow council have taken over now, I'm not sure if they will eventually restore the castle to the extent that people will be let inside 👍👍
