Our forefathers were cannibals and that spirit of "taking people out " is latent in us and anything competitive(as in tribal wars) like rugby brings this out in us but after the game we will be all smiles and hug you and invite you to a kava session. We will even pray with you if you like. I am sure our other Pacific Island brothers will also identify with that. Some people think it is a sort of rite of passage for young man growing up in Fiji to play rugby. A few hits like that will jolt you into manhood. You just happen to be moving along that passage !!
