Hi Josh. I got my volt spikes sorted out. It was the replacement alternator the whole time. Put a new one in (again) and the issue is gone. The last problem I’m facing is the passenger headlight, along with a few other things acting up. I will be replacing the trans conductor plate and pin adapter. Hopefully that will be the last items to sort out. Thank you again for all your help.

Great video I have a 2003 w220 Mercedes S500 and currently just change the front driver Sam fuse box as my car stop raining prior to a severe rainstorm I took the car to be diagnosed and the shop said the driver's side SAM or ECM..whatever that means is there a difference or would you recommend changing the rear Sam as well because my car was entirely wet on the passenger side under the seat
Thanks for the information. My 2000 S500 had water damage then corrosion. When I discovered this I cleaned as best I could, reassembled and now won’t start. Power when ignition is on, but no crank. Any suggestions?
@@jarrod_driveline2082 no crank...remove crank position sensor on bell.housing. e10 bolt. Replace it. They usually go bad after these ignition and firing misfire issue. But its common no check engine light or code will show
@@joshgray2024 great thank you for your advice, and videos. They are very helpful. I’ll change it out and see. I’m also changing the pass side SAM module in hopes to eliminate some other issues. Used number matching part. Will it need dealer to set it up?
@@jarrod_driveline2082 nooo they tell you it does but no it does. Listenndisconnect battery and connect sammunit. Connect batterynturn key on let it sit for 1 minute so all monitors and modules notice each other and then turn off then back onnand start it.
@@joshgray2024 ok car runs again but it immediately blew one of the 30 amp fuses in the new/used SAM. Now car runs with no dash lights. Runs then stalls. Any suggestions now? Thank you, you’ve already been helpful
@@jarrod_driveline2082 have you checked the main distribution power block under pass floor board? Wjat sam did you change. And also check grounds and make sure no wiring has been cracked and now touching each other causing a short. The dash lights are out...is dash working though? Lights and turn signals? Check if hazard switch works and all six lights flash rear front and mirrors. We can go from there and what to look for next.

Josh thanks for your videos. I thinking of buying a 2001 S430 but i been told it had water damaged to the rear sam. low miles so i think it may be worth the investmentbut would love once I get into it to get your info to contact you.
Good Evening Josh: I have a 03 Mercedes S430. The air suspension pump is not getting power. The 40 amp relay for the suspension pump and air pump are not getting fire when I test with a test light. If I jump the 40 amp relay for the suspension pump with a regular 40amp fuse, the pump comes on. Can you give me your advise as to what the problem is? Thank you

I have fuel pump issues, if I press ( the middle black Relay )harder inside the car will started , otherwise only cranking , what , the issue, and I replaced it with other relay still same!

I need help with my 06 w220 s500 the lights inside and outside the car keep flashing and the struts are all new and I use my scan tool to fill the strut but as soon as I turn off the compressor it dumps the air in all four struts and the air tank and the rear tail lights say they are not working but I look and they are working andy hydraulic trunk doesn't get power.
I have a 2007 S 600 Can you show me the location of all my ECU, TCU and all SAM units location. I'm having transmission issues , Code P0175 and a lot of SAM communication issues. I cleaned the 13-pin but car is still in limp home mode . New transmission was installed from LKQ, still have same issue stuck in limp mode with code P0175. I know my issues is electrical but cant pinpoint what's causing all these issues so i want to remove all these TCM, ECU and sAM unit and clean them. Thanks for your much needed help
Hi Josh, my S500 doesn’t start at first thought it was ECM replaced n same fuel pump also replaced n nothing but Sam Board in the rear where my fuel fuse and relay is, I’m getting 108 volts in all fuses n relays . Could this be the problem??

I bought a 04 s500 of a man for a good deal, cause dash wasn't working so I bought one of junk yard nd works, but doesn't give me the miles... 2nd trunk opened then went out changed fuse worked for 2 days went out again?? nd 3rd now my alarm horn when I lock doesn't make sound ... but horn works .... u have a clue what it could be

Yes I have a 03 Mercedes benz s500 my sunroof gas needle isn't working I check my sam unit and the big red battery cable accidently hit the metal on the bolts under the back seat and know I don't have know back taillights head lights working but know back tail lights could use please help me

S.O.S. HELP PLEASE ......And how you doing today? Okay so what I have is a 2001 S430. What's going on is I turn it on? No problem. I go to turn the car off. It doesn't turn off. I pull the key fob out. It's still on. It's still running. Put the key far back in it. It's locked up. It won't go back to the start. Can't shift it. You got to pull a relay to turn the car off. I need help.
I have 1999 s320 it won't crank after a few tims playing with the ignition it dose start onces it warm up then np
So the S500 issues continue. I believe I’ve found the source of the volt spikes and cause of blowing the 40amp fuse. The air pump on the front of engine. Was shorting out, and will not run. With pump disconnected the car runs.
I still have not found the cause, to why the instrument cluster is not working. Signals all work.
@@jarrod_driveline2082 hmm man it sounds to me like u may have a little wire short under hood have you checked power to the air pump or harness going around manifold the intake box may have lost the bushings that support it. And rattle against the harness the do have wear spots on harness where they are ziptied together or to the little tabs that hold them. Only thing i can think of that is causing the 40amp to short out that way. How is the air pump system compressors working? Any issue or amps blowinh there. And for the dash let me.do some research on that. Does lights work or gauges work? Or is it completely dead?
@@joshgray2024 completely dead. It all worked once I changed the Sam unit, then it seemed to get another volt spike and dash went out. Had the car running again later today and it ran and moved. Upon start up got another volt spike while the secondary air pump was unplugged. So I’m going to continue to look for places where I could be getting a spike from, yes I looked over the wires on the manifold but will look closer again tomorrow. I will eventually be looking at the trans pin connection you’ve mentioned in videos, I’m also going to look over those other Sam units closer and may replace one. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and help. Thank you.

@@rikardokwiatkowski7998 key fob battery or power. Grounds or a door and or trunk isnt showing it closed completely.most likely its going to be a power drain or over power source to a relay or faulty ground. Even dome lights trunk lights. Ive seen so many odd things happen for this. My c class did this weird shit with alarm goin on and off by itself or when i turned car off it wouldnt lock. All because the damn mirror bulb was bad. They are weird cars and ground issues or power issues always the problem
Josh; you are great! I need help! My horn on my 2004 S430 4matic Mercedes will not blow. The dealer wants a million dollars. He said it is probably the Right Rear SAM Unit. I have changed the relay in the fuse box 2 and the fuse. Still no horn. What could it be. I just fixed my locks with a use pump in the trunk. Now working on the horn? Any suggestions?
Most likely wire or connection at the horn. Corrosion or broken at the horn clip. If fuse is blown then wire has broke or shorter out. Usually it isn't the part that goes bad it's always wires or corrosion

My car got wet now(Sam got a little water on bottom and a/c blower but works for now) my s430 2004 driver marker brake light is aluminated with none on the passenger but turn lights on all brake lights held down (brake lights on but no foot on brake )when I turn lights off to 0 they are just running lights on . They only started doing this when I parked uphill driveway with water leaking down towards the Sam and rear brake light trunk was blinking and I turn the car off and driver side marker brake light only one side was on with car off So I presume it’s not the brake light ignition switch and some sort of crazy Coincidence
Hello my name is David and I got some issues. I I have a 2001 Mercedes S430 it starts but the damn thing won't turn off so every time I have to pull this fuse goes to computer. So anyway I can turn off and resets the computer and I can't get my smog done because of this. Please I need some help. I've already paid DMV registration. I'm just waiting on this damn smog but every time you pull the computer it can't do it. Self-check

I have an 2002 s430 it sat for about a month with a dead battery now the car doesn’t recognize the Key I had a lock smith make me another key it still doesn’t recognize the key can’t lock the car or unlock the car and don’t turn the ignition at all I even bought a new battery for the car does anyone know what I can try before I take it in
Your car wont start unless all relays. And fuses have fixed ,just got all. Ee relays and fuses because car got stolen and fuses relays were gone. Junk yard everything . Bring 40 $
Enjoy bay driver side compartment fuses and relays get your car going if not double check the rear trunk make sure every fuse and relay Is in its spot .worked for me , now I'm looming for shorts nd why my key wont come out

Yeah basically what it's trying to tell you is that one of your air ride shocks is starting to go bad and the compressor is overworking it's also a problem that will be draining your battery if this continues to go on so I would check out all the air shocks and after you park it watch the height of the vehicle if it's lowering on one side as opposed to the other side or if it takes longer to get to ride height when you start the car but I would check computers first and make sure that nothing is cooked corroded or going bad
