The wheel of monotony takes 2 hours because it's called the wheel of MONOTONY. xD It's not broken. It works like it was designed to. There's nothing wrong with the site, he just purposely picked some of the oldest/worst flash games and most boring features for comedic effect.

Damn, I made my Neopets account long ago when I was like 13. What a lovely shit it was, like, coming home from school and spending some hours playing in that platform daily, for like two years or some. Loved the diversity about places, mini-games, events, stories, misteries and stuff. Then it started to decline progressively and I started forgetting it out with time, entering the site with less and less frequency until I left it at some point I can't figure out. I'm 22 right now and after years of oblivion this shit just came out to my mind for apparently no reason, so I wanted to log in once again and search on the internet to see how are things going. Oh dude, the nostalgia, now that I think, my time in Neopets was one of the few good times I had during my teen age.
If he hasn't logged in quite a while, the account might have been purged, hence the suffering ends. Can't say the same for pets thrown into the pound with random number/letter combinations in their names though.

I was pretty active on Neopets way back when Viacom bought it. They ended up flooding the site with ads and added in cosmetic micro transactions. Plus the game had quite a bit of merchandise and two console video games. At the time, the website was absolutely profitable. Since then, it definitely died down a ton, which is why Viacom sold it to Jump Start whom has zero idea how to keep it running and updated. At this point, the website is pretty much stuck in 2003 in terms of functionality and appearance. I can't imagine it's particularly profitable anymore.

Man, you should have seen Neopets back in the early-mid 2000’s. It was almost all static HTML and had a staff of like 6 full-time people total, all from the UK, and boy howdy...they did not give a fuck about being kid-friendly. Hell, they didn’t give a fuck, period. There were like random events which could give you the best items in the game OR steal all of your Neopoints or best item *in your bank* OR straight up kill one of your Neopets in some gruesome way. Just by walking around. It was chaos. It was just one huge, trippy ass in-joke that the developers perpetuated seemingly for their own amusement, since this was back before they started doing sponsorship deals or digital currency shit. They weren’t making diddly squat for years, they just loved trolling and scaring the shit out of children on the internet under the guise of a cute fun video game that made absolutely no sense.

There's tons of videos on how neopets came to be and while it wasn't as kid friendly for like it's first year it was never as this person claimed it to be. I played in 2003 before it had digital currency or anything of the sort, and while the parts about the items you'd get from events are true your pets would never die and your account *would get frozen for cussing on the forums or if your art for the weekly drawing contest was too risque.

MONOTONY. xD It's not broken. It works like it was designed to. Spin it and then open a new tab and do something else while you wait. Not that hard. xD There's like 7 other wheels you can spin that only take 10 seconds if you're lazy. There's nothing wrong with the site, he just purposely picked some of the oldest/worst flash games and most boring features for comedic effect.

Damn, I made my Neopets account long ago when I was like 13. What a lovely shit it was, like, coming home from school and spending some hours playing in that platform daily, for like two years or some. Loved the diversity about places, mini-games, events, stories, misteries and stuff. Then it started to decline progressively and I started forgetting it out with time, entering the site with less and less frequency until I left it at some point I can't figure out. I'm 22 right now and after years of oblivion this shit just came out to my mind for apparently no reason, so I wanted to log in once again and search on the internet to see how are things going. Oh dude, the nostalgia, now that I think, my time in Neopets was one of the few good times I had during my teen age.

I was pretty active on Neopets way back when Viacom bought it. They ended up flooding the site with ads and added in cosmetic micro transactions. Plus the game had quite a bit of merchandise and two console video games. At the time, the website was absolutely profitable. Since then, it definitely died down a ton, which is why Viacom sold it to Jump Start whom has zero idea how to keep it running and updated. At this point, the website is pretty much stuck in 2003 in terms of functionality and appearance. I can't imagine it's particularly profitable anymore.
There are people commenting on youtube who weren't even alive when this game was at its peak. A forgotten part of my dusty childhood I can tell you.

Neopets website and its entire aspect is a joke. The Staff actually are away from the computers 24/7 while the auto monitor bans it's users for anything.
Hulaette Sorta, neopets was bought from viacom, and jumpstart got that rights for it. Jumpstart fired the original staff members, and replaced them with a shitty, poorly coded censor list. There was a raid 2 years ago.

Man, you should have seen Neopets back in the early-mid 2000’s. It was almost all static HTML and had a staff of like 6 full-time people total, all from the UK, and boy howdy...they did not give a fuck about being kid-friendly.
Hell, they didn’t give a fuck, period. There were like random events which could give you the best items in the game OR steal all of your Neopoints or best item *in your bank* OR straight up kill one of your Neopets in some gruesome way. Just by walking around. It was chaos.
It was just one huge, trippy ass in-joke that the developers perpetuated seemingly for their own amusement, since this was back before they started doing sponsorship deals or digital currency shit. They weren’t making diddly squat for years, they just loved trolling and scaring the shit out of children on the internet under the guise of a cute fun video game that made absolutely no sense.

I played in 2003 before it had digital currency or anything of the sort, and while the parts about the items you'd get from events are true your pets would never die and your account *would get frozen for cussing on the forums or if your art for the weekly drawing contest was too risque.
