I’ve worked with Iraqi special operations units (Gold Squad) during my time as a Army ranger and I’m not gonna lie they’re really good at what they do. Great soldiers
@@rusi6219 for the most part, the special forces were alright. You're talking about the Iraqi Army or Iraqi Police; they were worthless as hell. We trained tens of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans and every one of them were trash after billons were funneled to them. The only exception were those Iraqi/Afghan special mission units that worked side by side with our Tier 1-2 assets. Probably 5,000 between the lot of them across both countries. Every single US Military man and woman who served between 2003-2020 could tell any of our politicians what was going to happen when we left in any of those years. I remember saying we were going to lose in Afghanistan way back in 2008 and Iraq in 2006. Those soldiers were not soldiers, they were bodies collecting a paycheck midnighting as terrorists.
War is such a horrible reality in this world. This documentary shows exactly that. It's one of the best documentaries available on RUclips. I recommend it to everyone 👍

For your fallen soldiers, there is a peom we say in memory, i hope it carries its meaning in translation to your language "They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted: They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget"

As a person who was a civilian in Mosul under war and bombardment, the feeling of fear until now is that I died that day when someone exploded in front of my house, and I remember that southern Iraqi soldier who gave me the Iraqi flag. I wish you still didn't give me the Iraqi flag, you just gave me freedom. ❤🇮🇶
If the Iraqi army didn’t fled from Mosul in the first place and let all their weapons behind ISIS would never become that strong. Remember it was the YPG who freed Sinjar…
@@uguryzgwhat are you talking about??? it was barzanis KDP that disarmed and left the Yazidis to die. Thats why Yazidis love the Iraqi forces that defeated ISIS
@@sumerianking4942 Barzani the dog didn’t have the Yazidis protection and weapons but I’m talking about the event before ISIS took Sinjar when the Iraq army left and basically gave whole Mosul to ISIS. The only one that saved the Yazidis was the YPG and especially the Women Protections Unit YPJ
While these brave guys are risking their lives to fight against brutal terrorists, I'm laying on my bed complaining about classes and assignments. I'll never be as brave as them or the journalist who filmed this, but I feel more grateful about the life I have now. I knew there are people living in a warzone like this, but actually watching the woman shaken by fear felt different than just "knowing" the existence of these conflicts. I can't imagine living in this place.
4:11 For my part, I am the type who does not fantasize too much about soldiers of Arab origin...the only army I meet is the foreign legion 🇨🇵❤️... *but there is an exception (the special forces Iraqi) I find them particularly interesting and very beautiful to have with an impressive battle group which commands respect. What followed was a second crush on this special force* . Moreover, having watched the film Mosul more than once which depicted the daily life of the Iraqi special forces, I must say that it is a masterpiece. You are extraordinarily Valiant, you do not fear fear or death... Strength to you *Kind regards... foreign legion 🇨🇵❤️*
Just raw, unadulterated bravery by these Iraqi Special Forces soldiers. I hope they survived and learning to deal with the post traumatic stress of combat. Luckily, Iraq is a very family oriented country and it gets you through it, esp when you are fighting for a cause.
🇮🇶The Golden Division lost half of its fighters, both martyred and wounded, but they were very brave. This pure nature is divine from God Almighty, and it is the courage and zeal of the Iraqi individual. Now the door to apply for Iraqi Special Forces students has been opened again. Long live Iraq.
The soldiers and the Iraqi people have a heart of rock, they enter into battle and come out happy and victorious safe from mental illnesses Men who are not shaken by mountains If it was not for betrayal, they would have eliminated Isis a long time ago, but they were let down a lot
It is the stories of war told not by those observing the conflict...but described by those who are living it...that truly brings the horror and brutal truth into perspective... 🇿🇦
I participated in the war against terrorist groups when I was 19 years old and I had no understanding of wars. The first battle in Anbar I participated. My father was a close friend who would witness my closeness and I cried for him a lot. The end of the war in Mosul has reached the end, and I hope that the war will not come again and a friend is lost again.❤
A few minutes into the documentary but must acknowledge with heart felt gratitude and tears in my eyes the boldness and courage to shoot this documentary....the sacrifice you guys take...my prayers for you all. Bringing the raw emotions of those innocent lives affected....that Mother shaking uncontrollably with a white flag broke my heart ..war is ugly!
They seem better trained now than when I was there before. I hated some of the Iraqi officers back then 'cause of how they talked down on their soldiers saying things like "They're only good for making tea". Iraqi people are so nice and friendly, it's so warming whenever I meet them and even in the US. When I was there though only the Shiites were nice to us but I have nothing against the Sunnis. When I was there though the biggest issue wasn't even the Coalition forces against the insurgents, it was mostly the Sunnis and Shiites fighting each other, I really hope Iraq can find its peace. God bless Iraq!
I can’t keep my eyes dry. Those soldiers represent the epitome of bravery and sacrifice. After the battle they further are so very reduced by ptsd. May Allah bless them.
i wish i could use this docu. to show Americans that not all Muslims are ISIS or Al Qaeda. Many Muslims hate ISIS and other terrorist factions even more than Americans do. Americans don't know the meaning of "sacrifice" or "suffering."
So much bravery abusing and threatening children and sending them out to look for enemy snipers. They are not that different from the ISIS they are fighting against.
@@noamto I have to agree, sending civies to stick their heads out to check for snipers, and threatening to kill them is outright a war crime, when he told him he had kids and a family he points a gun to his head and says "and I don't?" nothing brave about that
@@zancudo1630 It's important to consider the context here. These individuals had the daunting task of confronting heavily fortified ISIS forces that had held Mosul since 2014. The enemy was well-prepared and their snipers were particularly elusive. Now, regarding the individual you've mentioned, he bears a distinctive appearance with a shaven mustache and a lower beard, a style commonly associated with ISIS due to their interpretation of sunnah (the way of the prophet). It's unclear whether he adopted this look out of necessity while under ISIS control. However, there are reasons for suspicion, especially given the reported activity around his residence. It appears there was a misinterpretation in the video due to a bad translation, and I don’t know if that was intentional by the film maker. In reality, the soldier said to him, 'don't lie, we just saw him [ISIS] in the house with you’. Also, the “citizen” wearing all black raises another red flag because it’s a ISIS theme. Furthermore, in the video, there seems to be another discrepancy in the translation. He appears to plead at the end, 'don't hold me responsible,' and adds that he has a family and is an orphan. The use of the 'orphan' card is unusual for a grown man and might raise suspicions that he is attempting to elicit sympathy. In such a complex and uncertain situation, it's essential to approach the matter cautiously and consider all factors, but I understand your point of view, the treatment was harsh. Sad reality of war . … For what it’s worth, one of the soldiers told him “don’t be afraid, my dear” at 31:15. 🤷 Oh and by the way, since you mentioned it, there is another miss translation. He didn’t say ‘and I don’t?’. The “citizen” said to him in Arabic ‘I am friend with a family’ which could absolutely mean that he had a family, but he didn’t mention kids, and the soldier replied with smirky comment ‘am I friend of pimps?’. It was NOT ‘and I don’t?’. The “citizen” then replied ‘no, God forbid’, NOT ‘no, no sorry’.

I’ve worked with Iraqi special operations units (Gold Squad) during my time as a Army ranger and I’m not gonna lie they’re really good at what they do. Great soldiers
@@rusi6219Those were the Police and everyday garrisons who have no experience of a full scale war lmao
"They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted:
They fell with their faces to the foe.

When I was there though the biggest issue wasn't even the Coalition forces against the insurgents, it was mostly the Sunnis and Shiites fighting each other, I really hope Iraq can find its peace. i wish i could use this docu. to show Americans that not all Muslims are ISIS or Al Qaeda.
For what it’s worth, one of the soldiers told him “don’t be afraid, my dear” at 31:15. 🤷
Oh and by the way, since you mentioned it, there is another miss translation.
