Hey guys, absolutely love the care you put into Reggie. I do have a few suggestions though. It doesn’t seem like you use any sort of heat (I could be wrong) which is essential for a Bearded Dragon. I also recommend using a UVB light bar for atleast 70% of his cage as this will help with any Metabolic Bone Disease he may have. I noticed he does seem to have some trouble moving around so he may have a problem digesting calcium as well. If you aren’t already, I recommend using calcium with and without D on his salads and bugs everyday with calcium W/ D two times a week. This will supplement him with enough Vitamin D3 he would normally absorb in the wild. Repashy is also a great source of nutrition for a Bearded Dragon. I’ve rescued and bred bearded dragons for many years so please feel free to message me containing questions for your bearded dragon. Much love ❤️
@@breannaandbaby3866 UVB and heat? Also what about the other tips I mentioned such as Metabolic Bone Disease… there’s a lot more that goes into owning a bearded dragon than the lights. I have a 10 page care guide I hand out with everyone who purchases a dragon from me. Dragon care and upkeep are super important to me as I’ve rescued many many dragons from negligence before (I am not saying Chris and Emily neglect their dragon)
Looks great! Though I would ditch the carpet, terrible for growing bacteria and also they can rip the nails off. Bioactive is the way to go but newspaper or paper towels are great too. But I love the setup!
You guys have the money. Get him at least a 4x2x2 (120 gallon) to thirve! Hopefully you have a linear UVB that is mounted correctly and checking temps with temp gun and ambient temps with DIGITAL thermostats frequently. Humidity can range from 25 to 40% during light on and 50 to 60% during lights out. 12 hours lights/heat on and 12 hours off and temps CAN dip to 50F (most houses kept at least 65F) with no problems. Any carpet or cloth material is terrible for BDs as it can harbor bacteria and mites that are not able to be cleaned by simple washing. Non porous shelf liner, tile and paper towel are great substrates. I would advise not to use sand for the entire enclosure but perhaps a dig box with ONLY childs play sand in it l and tucked in the corner. Cover back and sides of enclosure to prevent glass surfing and seeing it's own reflection with adhesive wallpaper or black tape on the inside to rid reflection. Get the hammocks out as they can cause ripped out nails and potentially lose fingers because of it. Use branches bricks and rocks. Never listen to pet stores or immatate their set ups in store. Research BEFORE you get the animal to provide it a safe and healthy life for its entire life, not just for the life you want it to live. This is not to judge just to get important information out to have healthy and happy animals!
I have a bioactive enclosure and it looks really good and is better for the animals health. And made my bearded dragon loves to move around and bask on real rocks, wood and dig in the substrate. I’d recommend making a more natural/bigger enclosure with proper research
I love this info you gave. I'm a new beardie owner. It's been a little over a month sense he came home with us. I have one question though about the hammock thing. Aren't they supposed to be good to help with shedding. I have a hammock in the middle of his enclosure(it's a seasomething type hammock). Should I take it out? He seems to really like it
@@hillcityninja3155 Yes, when though they seem to like them they are not the greatest. They can get toes caught and ripped off. I would recommend removing immediately and go for something more natural. Bricks, rocks, branches are all great items to help with shed and are a much safer alternative.
@@DallasStorm43 the reason he isnt moving at all is because the set up is not good, they are lacking uvb which is a essential for the longevity of a beardie. They only have a heat lamp with no uvb, and not to mention they have reptile carpet which is terrible for any reptile
I would suggest moving that tall cave over for the basking spot. The bed is not going to hold enough heat and probably won’t move him close enough to the light
It’s just so weird seeing Chris having a kid like I still remember seeing the original videos not expecting anything like this to happen. Just I miss the old videos like the apocalypse weapons.

let me correct you. meal worms CAN be harmful for SOME bearded dragons bc it can cause impaction but some beardies are okay when having them a small amount. crickets can be harmful to bearded dragons as most of them carry parasites which pass onto your bearded dragon which can make them really sick. i would suggest locusts and dubia roaches as a staple food item for your bearded dragon :) no hate towards you, just trying to give the proper advice. have a good day.
