- This video is about my cartilage piercing that I got 6 months ago from claire's...this video was highly requested! A lot of you were in my comments asking if i got an infection or if i had a bump on my ear after I got the piercing...So watch the video and you will get the answers to your questions. All of the information I stated was either from my own personal experience with having a cartilage piercing or from google. I am not a doctor yet so if you have any questions regarding skin infections or how to prevent them I would talk to your primary doctor or a dermatologist.

Its not a gun they use pressure no spring and release. If it was unsafe they wouldn't allow it. Take no notice this is a commons misconception. People are mistaking the device for the spring loaded caflon systoms which admittedly studex still make. The reason they use the newer device is because its safer than the old spring loads
You’re kidding right? There is a reason actual piercers don’t use these tools, they use needles. These are NOT safe because they can’t be put in an autoclave so they can’t be sterilized.
They tell you it heals in 6 weeks but in reality, for most people it takes a year or more to fully heal. Ive had my double helix for 2 years and it still feels not 100% healed and I got it done with a needle ( I have thick cartilage, and I heard that can effect healing time, so maybe that plays a role)
I'm planning to get a cartilage and nose piercing and nowadays watching a lot of piercing videos. A lot of clients of lulu's piercing (you can search on YT their channel) come there after claire's cuz their gun piercing gone too bad
So I'm now looking for an experienced master to get my piercings done with a needle and proper earrings
I got double helix piercings done at claires a while ago and im just learning that helix earrings dont have those loops at the back of the earring - cartilage earrings are put in differently - are you thinking about changing out the earring once its healed? Im not sure if I should change mine to the cartilage ones 😅
I just got my cartilage pierced yesterday at Claire’s and now I’m freaking out reading all the negative things about getting it done there. I want to take it out now and just let the hole heal up. Can anyone tell me if it would be too soon to take it out and let it heal??? 😭😭
As long as you take care of it you should be fine had mines in for a year now and it’s fine 💗 but do what you feel is right.
bro just got mine pierced today and I’m freaking out ☠️

Did you end up removing your piercing? Any updates?
Just did mine 3 days ago. Now I’m contemplating on removing it. I got mine done at pagoda at the mall. 😐
@@Kev_inn_hi love! Please go to professional piercers next time you get any kind of piercing. They use needles and not piercing guns. Piercing guns pose lots of issues, but the main one is they can’t be sterilized because they can’t be put in an autoclave. On top of that, the people who do piercings at these little shops don’t get any actual training and they don’t have licenses. They usually only practice on cardboard
Will be getting my fourth cartilage this week
People aren't hating because you had it done at Claire's, necessarily. They are hating because you aren't supposed to pierce cartilage with a gun. It shatters the cartilage and causes delayed healing or bumps on the cartilage.
It's not "hating" at all....
It actually rarely shatters the cartridge there's a very very slim chance of that happening

I just got a cartilage piercing today!
It’s such a nice piercing! 🙌🏽
I know I’m late but I’m planning on getting the same piercing but I’m nervous. I’ve had lobe piercings before but I had to take them out even tho I’ve had them since I was little because they irritated my skin… I hope the cartilage piercing doesn’t irritate me as much because I really want this piercing. I’ve seen many horror stories about how it gets infected but my mom and friend have the same piercing they got at Claire’s and are fine…
Should I get the piercing?? I mean imma get it either way but I just wanna know your opinion on it and your experience 😅
Yes I think that you should get the piercing!! you wont be disappointed. My experience was fine and normal. no complications so far!
Thank u
hey girl just got my double helix done at claire’s, how is yours doing now?
Hey girl!! mines has healed completely and its doing pretty well!!
I just got my lobes pierced today. Its my second time going to claire’s for my lobe piercing. The first time went great but this time was terrible. The person who did my piercing didn’t even put in the back stubble so the earring didnt even pierce through my ear :((( it hurts so much. I have to go back tmr to get it redone.
OMGGGG thats the worse, I hope everything goes well with your re-piercing!
@@707mimi nooo it went all wrong. I ended up having to get my ears repierced at some place else because they messed up the repiercing too :(((( I’ve had the repierced one (done at a jewelry shop using a needle) for a couple weeks now and it’s doing amazing
@@sanas9938 use this as a lesson to never get your ears pierced with a gun ever again since guns use blunt force trauma to shove an earring into your ear and this causes the healing process to be way longer than usual. The needle removes a piece of skin so the jewelry can get put in without needing force to be forced in. I used to have my first and second holes which were done at Claire’s but took them all out because they wouldn’t heal, even after one year. And they got infected even though I cleaned them daily.
ive gotten 3 cartilage piercings at claires🤷🏽♀️ my ears were fine lol
How's your cartilage piercing now? I just got mine yesterday :)
It’s doing pretty good it feels normal it’s been a year now so I’m pretty use to it!
i have a question, with the cartilage piercing i also pierced mine with the same gun and i was wondering how you cleaned it bc there’s no space from the earring to clean it? The butterfly back is too tight that it won’t let me clean it.
You have to go to a piercing place and just get a longer earring Either a surgical steel or 14 karat gold earrings
I showed how I cleaned it in the video but just use a Q-tip and spray the cleanser on it and rub around the piercing babe!
It could be from you sleeping on it and salt water
Hey & thank you is that the same earring as when you got it pierced 7 months ago & is the earring back supposed to be close to your skin ?
most earrings backs make a click sound when it’s locked in at the right spot which isn’t very close to ur skin so id say listen out for a click when u put urs on
Hello, Yes this is the same earring that I got when it was pierced! When I first got the piercing the earring was this close to my skin! 💗
current update? i’m getting mine don’t today at claire’s and i’m nervous and excited. how long does it take to completely heal?
Mines is completely healed now I had no complications but I would say it takes almost a year to fully heal!!!
i got a double helix from claires it didnt hurt at all. i changed the jewelry after 3 weeks and didnt hurt for me.
Oh wow that’s really good I’m glad it didn’t cause you any pain! ❤️🔥
@@Kiaraaleema thank you!
I had my helix pierced 4 times with a gun and I'm just fine and my piercings are as well. 🤗
Hey, could you please tell your after care routine ? I got my cartilage and lobe piercing done with a gun 6 weeks ago. Just wanted to maintain a good routine to get it heal completely without any issues. Thanks in advance ❤️
That’s amazing I’m glad you had a great experience:D
do you think i should stop cleaning mine after 4 months? I’ve been cleaning mine for that long but im so scared to stop cuz i don’t want any infections. I will still clean it just not on a every day basis like i do now
You should definitely continue cleaning it but you don’t have to clean it everyday I would just clean it twice-three times a week! 💗
It takes most a year to heal so yes keep cleaning it I use H2O sea salt spray And do not do not sleep on it or play with it
You suppose to clean it the same until it heals !!
Jesus loves you ❤️
Amen
I’ve gotten a two cartilage piercings, from Claire’s. and idk if mine are fully healed, I’ve had them since December. and i also don’t know what I should clean them with, once I use up the Claire’s solution.
You can clean your piercing with saline solution which is just water and a teaspoon of salt.
@@Joy-vk4kf preferably sea salt though! because i heard some other salts have added chemicals etc.
@@lfjsmn Yes, sea salt is what piercers usually advice you to use when cleaning your piercing
Literally same girl I got it last December at Claire’s but I don’t think it’s healed yet
Did the back of your piercing still hurt after a week? Mine does :( it hurts to touch
Yes it did that’s normal I think! 💗
@@Kiaraaleema Thanks so much for the quick reply! How close is the back of the earring to your ear? I feel like mine is on kind of tight :(
@@jsturrx3 same but I just got them done yesterday and they’re butterfly backs and those usually cause me tension 😭 so I hope it’s fine till it heals
@@ThatsSoAngiehey I got my cartilage at Claire’s today and I was wondering how yours is getting on?
@@lilygrainger2835 great I changed my jewelry pretty late like at 6 months and used screwball earrings which is really good especially for sleeping
Why are yall asking this girl that pierce her ears with gun questions that yall suppose to be asking a professional pierced for Fk sake go to a professional and ask ! She’s not one I wouldn’t take nobody advice that goes to Claire’s , that’s not a professional or pierce they ears with gun that alone should tell yall she don’t have the correct answers for yall
I had to take mine out it was swollen so big and my ears were throbbing😢
OH NOOOOO I’m so sorry you had experienced that 😞
So how much was your cartilage ?
I can’t remember if you check out my video of me getting my actual piercing I believe I said it in there but it wasn’t too expensive I think it was like $60 maybe!
have you changed your jewelry to a hoop by chance ?
Nope I haven’t! 💗
