That money wasn't left because people were honoring Booth or anything. Lincoln is on the penny and 5 dollar bill. It's to show him that Lincoln is being honored to this very day.

That’s not even John Wilkes grave or even a headstone. It’s desecration of a grave which is a felony.

That little stone with the pennies on it is actually his sister’s foot stone. John Wilkes is in an unmarked grave behind the family monument.

Apparently others were buried on top of John, including a little girl. This complicated things when a petion to dig up John to perform a DNA test to prove he didn't escape was presented.

This is true. It was common to have a foot stone and not all of them were marked. It’s comical that people think that is John Wilkes grave. Someone should take the money on top of it and give to a homeless person.

The reason Edwin's name isn't on that plot's obelisk (I guess it's called), is because he's not there in the family plot. Buried instead at Mt Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass.
He, Edwin, didn't disassociate himself from the rest of the family. While he refused to speak of his late brother John Wilkes after the assassination, it was he who arrange after years of effort to have Wilkes's body removed from it's unmarked grave in that prison courtyard in DC, and reinterred there with the rest of the family. He, Edwin, also kept a photo of him in his bedroom to the end of his life. So there must have been some remaining remnant of brotherly love there.
Those coins on J W's stone by the way are most like Lincoln pennies placed there by tourists to mock the late assassin rather than to honor him.
Very, very interesting and fun tour.
    Thanks much for it.

Another extremely interesting vlog on the death of President Lincoln. If you ever find yourself back in Chicago with some extra time, you might want to visit the Chicago History Museum at the southwest tip of Lincoln Park (1601 North Clark Street). Thanks to Robert Todd Lincoln, the president's son who lived in Chicago, and a local collector and donor, they have Lincoln's deathbed and other furniture from the Petersen House as well as other Lincolniana, Chicago Fire, and numerous other Chicago-related exhibits.

Apple TV released a pretty good miniseries about the Lincoln assassination, its conspirators and the hunt to find John Wilkes Booth. The series titled "Manhunt" even covers aspects of the assassination that much of the American public is unaware. Was the Confederate government or George Sanders somehow involved in the Lincoln assassination?

I double-checked and did a search on him, and found that there was some question as to whether or not he knew about the change in the plan from kidnapping to assassination. But the same can be said about his mother.
