  • I decided to make a quick video about the Audio Technica AT2021. I think it's a versatile microphone with good performance for the money. I compare it to an AT2020 and even a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure.
    Any support is appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video!
What pop filter for AT2021 you have @03:00 ?
    Thanks!

It is the Hook Studios Octo-842S. It's pricy, but it works well. You can probably find similar style pop filters for less money if you look around a bit.

@@bigtb1717 that's a good one! Thank you so much!

It wouldve been cool to see you switch between the mics capturing the outdoor noises vs your voice. Would give a great sense of how much background noise the mic might reject.

I wonder how it compared to other inexpensive pencil small membrane condensers. I think Behringer C2 is by far the cheapest, but there's like 80 different ones in the sub $150 range.

I actually have a couple others (including the C2) that I plan to make a comparison video with at some point. I did a small comparison myself a few years ago and was shocked to find that the AT2021 had a noise floor similar to the Rode NT5 (very good). That's when I first started to appreciate this mic. I recently got some Saramonic pencil condensers as well, so I'll hopefully be getting to a big comparison of "cheap" small diaphragm condensers before too long.

    AT2020 > LCT 440 Pure > AT 2021.
The LCT 440 Pure has an ear piercing high end to it. The AT 2021 sounds thin. The AT 2020 is such a good mic for the price. I actually prefer it on acoustic guitar to my AT 4040, but still prefer the 4040 on vocals.

      Ever try the 4050?

That's a neat little pop filter. What brand is it? Thanks for the video and A-B comparisons.
