Thanks again, this is perfect for what I needed. I must admit, I'd put Foundry back on hold and reverted back to pen and paper as I was getting frustrated with how long and overly complex it seemed to use with an unsupported system. Think I might give it another go now :)
thank you so much for demonstrating how all of these parts work together. I am trying to get the old FASA Star Trek RPG to work and just your 3 videos have given me so much help and encouragement.
This is why I like foundry. You can make it feel like an old-school rpg video game or simply a space to drop images and play very loose and unstructured.
Thank you for this! I just bought Foundry VTT and couldn't figure out why I couldn't create a new game until I realized you had to install a system, which the one I'm interesting in running is not. This will be a good alternative until it's supported.
I wanted to use alternate ability scores and skills for D&D 5e and I was dreading having to try my luck at coding, you just saved me a bunch of time, thank you!
I am working on a unsupported System with Sandbox and is so time consuming to get the correct layout....your solution seems to be a very good alternative! Thank you very much for that great content!!!
Please keep publishing more material on using unsupported non native systems. I'm looking to run something on the OpenLegendRPG system and OpenD6/Variants.
Thank you very much for those interesting VTT-system vids! My main point of critique is your audio. The volume of the intro and the outro are too loud in my humble opinion and your voice track is often times to low in volume (especially in comparison). But the content is definitely "my thing" :-)
Hey, I don't know if this is the best place to ask but when I select the PDF for the sheet to load, at 3:34, it doesn't actually load up the PDF and the page stays blank. Could anyone help me figure this out? :c
Hi! thanks you very much for this video! I have a question: is it possible to put some dices rolls into the pdf character sheet? With formula or other... ? Thanks!
No you cannot. However, if you link the PDF sheet you can place macros in the macro bar. Any alternations to the PDF sheet will then propogate to the macro
Not doable anymore. This module is deprecated and the built in PDF importer does not support fillable sheets, the changes get wiped out as soon as you tab out of the sheet to another page.
You just need to be on an older version of foundry and it will work. Version 9 is the core for the module. It doesn't work exactly the same as he shows here, but pretty dang close.
Thank you for this video! I am getting an issue on compatible system (per the creator's page) (AGE system) where inspect data is not showing anything when I switch to the non-fillable PDF. I was able to find the data input values needed through the AGE systems wiki, however.
@@dragonsarerealpodcast sorry, to follow up on this. If I wanted to do something like you describe I would need to both have the attribute created for swb and then ensure the box on my pdf matched up. If so I could then reference thay value in the macro? Second question, if I update the value on the pdf, will it also update to swb?
This doesn't make any sense. What links the health and power in the data to the PDF character sheet? I have followed the exact steps in this video several times and it has not worked once.
Thanks for sharing this. I have seen an issue, I wonder if you have the same problem. I have a form-fillable sheet, but every time I create a new actor, all of the checkboxes come up as being selected. Are you having the same issue?
@@dragonsarerealpodcast I unfortunately wasnt able to get that to work. However I realized you can add the image to the actor before switching it to the uploaded PDF so it least has the character art in the Actors directory. Do you have the Initiative roller in the combat tracker linked to the character sheet for initiative bonuses?
@@buzzardb Not sure if you can link initiative bonuses, I've not looked into that, but you would need a separate attribute for that in the CS before you switch to the PDF one. If you can't, you could always do it manually and the GM can alter initiative result in combat tracker.

I’ve been wanting to test out war game systems on foundry so I’m glad this exists

If you haven't done so already I recommend you watch Encounter Library videos - he has a great series that teaches you how to use it.

Thanks for the info - I'll look at altering the levels
Ok, this is amazing. I set up Basic Fantasy RPG in Sandbox, but this pretty dang cool.
Is it possible to increase the font size in Foundry?
May man! Thank you. This is exactly what I needed.
Thanks for posting this. I want to use sandbox but couldn't figure out where the module was! Now I see it's a system. Thanks!
Enjoy!

One year later, i'm having the same problem.
Saved my butt for an oneshot Im planning for this saturday. Cheers!
ilustrative. simple. very helpful .thank you fellow GM/Player! hope now I can set up my City Of Mist game withg my players!
Glad it helped!

@@dragonsarerealpodcast OK, thanks you very much! I'm gonna run some tests :-)
Thanks for posting this, I'm just looking into a switch.
This is fantastic. Thanks so much. Exactly what I'm looking for. Also, how is PDF Escape free? That software is insane!
Glad it was helpful!

Do you happen to know if you can have a field be the sum of 2 or more other fields?
You cannot sum fields in PDFoundry sadly
@@dragonsarerealpodcast thanks, I would have banged my head against a wall trying to get it to work.
I no longer see Simple World-building in there. I see one called “simple worldbuilding plus” but looks like a different author. Any thoughts?
That will be the one, this video is very dated now.

I know Simple worldbuilder has changed over the last year..at some point I need to take another look at it.
Please, please do an update!! It doesn't work this way anymore. :( But thank you!!
Can you include roll buttons on the PDF's? If I set up a formula on the main sheet, can I link it to the PDF?
No you can't add buttons to the PDF's. I recommend you use macro's to reference the PDF and place them in the hotbar.

Is it possible to create PDFs with attributes ina character sheet that can be used in a roll?
Not sure, probably need to do a follow up video as a lot has changed with it.

This video is now outdated and is a couple of versions behind current Foundry. See my Using Foundry VTT - With No System

It is a known bug the author is aware and is looking for a fix
Hi Wayne I see your also trying to make FotF2e work in Foundry ^^
Great value
Is there a way you know of to upload character art to the PDF character sheet?
You could try adding an image field when you edit pdf for the form fields to see if this would work. I have no idea if it will but you can try it.
