I live in Mexico and I buy Brittany dolls at Walmart. They are quite affordable and their clothes are SOOOO well made. I’d rather buy a Brittany than a Barbie fashion pack.
Hello dear, I can explain about the different variation of boxes, Defa Lucy is the OG brand, but Walmart, specially in Mexico, got the licence of defa Lucy to distribute the doll in Latinamerica, walmart rebranded the name of the doll and packaging so they call them Brittany and this is because Brittany is the official Doll that Walmart produces, so, in order to give their doll a refresh, they got the license of defa Lucy, that’s why you can see the exact same doll but with different names and boxes. I hope this helps you with your questions ❤ your videos!! Xoxo
The fashion of these dolls is so much better than the boring T-Shirt dresses Mattel gives aus for Barbie. These dolls don't need to hide from Barbie. ☺

@@HejSue I ordered from the Netherlands and it went perfect! Under a week for delivery and no extra costs... Only be prepared that they send dolls in a plastic bag 💜
Arjen to answer your question about the hair my Defa Lucy Beauty "Extra" inspired dolls have beautiful soft hair evenly rooted. My Fashion Girl "Fashionista" inspired dolls have both soft silky and the hard crunchy hair, the rooting is slightly less even on a couple of mine. The scalps are not painted, so I'd say the rooting is much the same as Mattel does but the scalp can show through a little in the back. It's worth giving the Fashion Girl dolls a headswap onto the MTM bodies if you can find a skintone match. The other dolls don't really need it. As far as availability and price I think the thing that made my Defa Lucy dolls cost a little more was the shipping to Australia, even though I got mine from Temu and Shein those costs still get worked into the prices. Btw Shein Australia has dropped the latest wave of Defa Lucy which seems to be inspired by Looks and Basics. Dontcallmedoll shared a a video on this wave few days ago. I suspect these dolls will cost the same as a Barbie if not more for collectors who live outside the regions these dolls were marketed for (Russia & Central/South America) because of the shipping costs and limited resellers. Also I wonder if Defa Lucy is keeping them off the "western" store shelves because they were sued by Mattel in the past in the EU ? Since that lawsuit Defa Lucy seems to have come up with their own original head sculpts marked DF 53-57. DF 57 is the gorgeous pouty head sculpt that everyone is after. Shout out to the commenter here who shared that Walmart Mexico has the license from Defa Lucy to make these dolls as Brittnay dolls for that region. I wish I could find a way to get hold of those dolls. Especially because the Brittnay version offers more skintone variety with articulation. One last thing the articulated dolls have a flexible type material on their lower limbs and feet and I've managed to get mine to wear high heels even though they are flat feet because they are flexible.
Thank you so much for the review of my favourite dolls seria! These molds, make ups and several parts of their outfits are fantastic!) Please, don't stop to create video, it's interesting for many doll-collectors over the world ^^
I just got the fashion girl red head. The body is 5 point articulation, but the arms also go out not only around. The legs have quite stiff bend and snap knees. She is on tippy toes. Her body feels quite simelar to late 80s early 90s Barbies. Her face is beautiful. Her hair seems to be Kanekolon. It really feels like 90s Skipper. Very fine, thickly rooted but still feels not thick, lays quiet flat, feels a bit dry and is not very shiny. But it does not feel like Poly. I am not a doll hair expert at all. I expect 2 Defa Lucy Beauty dolls. I really do like her. Luv you Arjen. You are adorable. Greetings from Germany.
@@HejSue I purchased a few if the dolls on Shein (I'm afraid of Temu). My ONLY complaint is that they literally throw the dolls in the box with no bubble wrap, so several of the packages arrived damaged, but the dolls were in great condition!
I live in Norway, and in the 90s there used to be a Danish (?) clone brand called Judith (think the pregnant doll that came before German (?) Susy). In the late 90s and 2000s, there used to be some Shelly and Tommy clones from that brand called Sally and Timmy. Sally changed faces through the years, and in the 2010s there were Sally dolls with bad quality and strange bodies... Then I found a doll called Belinda (with horribly thin legs) in the same discount store that also sold Defa Lucy dolls, and she came with a little Shelly clone. When I Googled Belinda, I found the exact same set marked with the Judith logo... And last year, I found Sally dolls online that looked just like some dolls called "Cute girl" sold by the same discount store where I have found Belinda and Defa Lucy... But I also found sets marked "Judith and Sally" where Sally was the exact same good quality Chelsea clone used by the "Defa Lucy" brand...
This clone business is just one big puzzle sometimes haha, seems like their is one big manufacturer behind it all producing all these dolls under different names 🤷🏼♂️
These dolls are almost like a better Barbie Extra than Mattel ever made. 😍😂 I think I'll have to get one to see how the quality is compared to a Barbie Extra. Would love to see you unbox one! ✨😍✨

Defa Lucy Faces Look great, and the clothes are actually quit good quality compared to Mattel's play line. I bought one Defa Lucy from the winter coat line, and the clothes were amazing.
I have got to get that beauty doll with the black shirt. That shirt with the mini fashion Gucci inspired neck tie. Thanks for giving me a reason to spend more money.
I have the Brittany (Deffa Lucy beauty) with the pink cap and can confirm the three of the line use Polypropylene and ilet me tell you this is BAD QUALITY poly unlike the one Mattel uses that is really rough to the touch but can bear hard play, this one is soft at first but will last 30 seconds in the hands of a kid and will be permanently damaged, all of them and most of the "extra" ones have the same sculp and the exact same screening but I also know some have better quality hair there's a Mexican youtuber that reviewed all of them it's called "On Toy" obviously the reviews are in Spanish. Edit: The bodies are similar to barbie playline but the legs and arms are vinyl unlike barbie so they're bendy and not as sturdy also she's very slightly thinner than regular Barbie but still can share all clothes and shoes with her
That's what I was saying...they look so cheap and 'knock off' looking. I don't know what people are seeing that they think is nice about these? Poly hair, clowny clothes, and you can tell the body plastic is cheap.

I just saw these dolls on SheIn app yesterday and thought of looking for reviews on yt.while I forgot about it,your video popped on my wall and surprised to see you review this doll.just wow.i also thought defa Lucy looks gorgeous
Arjen, hi! You won`t like their hair and rooting mostly. There are rare rows on most heads. There are some more pleasant, but it`s not a rule. I saw them in our shops and clothing is more ali-express quality. For instance Velcro stitching can be made with one line, not two. Some material looked too thin. Bodies are kind a hollow feeling, as a thinner plastic. And as far as I remember these dolls have 2 face molds. Their face are really not pixelated and mostly symmetrical.
I got the deluxe one in the larger package. She has blonde pigtails and a crazy pink/ red jacket. I can confirm...that one has HEELED feet AND a blend of nylon . I purposefully dyed it to test it. And it took the rit dye well ( l posted the results on my channel. I also have the burgundy hair/ pink cap one but havent unboxed her because l will be rebodying her anyway. I dont really like the legs on the pigtails one as they were warped and her arms were stained. She too will be rebodied...but not rerooted. Am happy with the hair on THAT particular one.
I've seen some reviews on these dolls. They do have Poly hair but their bodies are solid and some of them (The Budget ones) have rubber bend and snap knees
I must say Sweety that when I see mini fashions come out with the quality bags and other items that Mattel should have been giving to Barbie years ago I feel they have been letting us and more importantly Barbie down for a long time 😢......😊❤
I recently ordered the Beauty dolls and I fell in love! The hair is poly but SO soft, their bangs are laid down pretty well tbh. Also the body plastic is thinner than the usual barbie but still pretty decent especially for display
I know Barbie has been lacking in quality but .... and I seem to be in the minority here but these defa Lucy dolls look like Blow up dolls to me 👁️👄👁️ and I'm not crazy about their fashions either :/ but I guess that's what makes being a doll collector so great. There's so many dolls to choose from and likes are going to vary. ❤
they could be a fun surprise tbh, I would mostly buy them for the outfits, but that could be a good deal ! thanks for this video, it was very informative 👍🏻
This was a very good description of these dolls I had not heard of. I don’t know if I would buy any of these dolls as they just seems a bit over the top to me, like there is too much going on at once. I would like to see them in real life though. Thank you!
On Temu, the "Extra" dolls are $30 each(USD) which is kinda expensive for a fake clone doll. The basic dolls with articulation are $18.99, and the Fashionistas with 5 points are like $10.
hello !! They are dolls for the price, they are very good, the plastic of the body is not light, it has consistency, as well as the plastic of the accessories, the hair is very soft and the fabric of the clothes is very good, the truth is that it is thick and there are no bad seams. well-made face does not look pinxelated. I see potential in them. The one I have is the blonde in the green dress, the one that is not articulated 👍🏽
Great video as well I just wanted to mention Defa Lucy also had a smaller brand similar to barbie extra minis the heads are slightly larger than regular knock off Chelsea and friends dolls. Sold on Temu.
Fantastic video Arjen. I actually came across these dolls just this week, they seem to have become quiet popular and seen some reviews on here and they also popping up on insta pages, I was actually surprised by their faces and how good they look in general some of the fashions are really nice. Maybe this is the type of kick Mattel needs, when clone dolls start becoming better quality than the OG of the fashion dolls, I find it quiet sad of how much they have cheapen Barbie so much in the last few years. Looking forward to seeing a review of them on your fabulous channel and see them come to life with serving looks. 😊✌🤗💜💙
Right?! it’s actually pretty sad when you think about it 😑 I don’t see Mattel stepping up their game because of them but who knows 🤷🏼♂️ we can dream 🥹
These dolls have been a blast recently :) I'd like to buy a few for my collection as our local doll collectors give her quite positive reviews. Btw one of their face sculpts is a cute clone of a Mizi doll.
May be they give good reviews because they are paid. Shein is throwing money around to uplift their very questionable reputation. Why not this company? 🤔
@@ValeriaNotJoking i don't know for sure if those bloggers were paid. Shein doesn't seem to be shipping to our country - so probably not. In my opinion, these Defa Lucy dolls are worth trying, but I don't have very high expectations :)
It’s interesting to see other fashion dolls available on the market now. Depending upon the price, they could be more affordable for those who want to have a fashion doll collection. If you plan to purchase a few, I would love to see a video about them. Think I will have a look on temu. Really enjoyed this video. See you soon… 🩷🌷🩷
Have 2 got the one in the sporty outfit and pontail love her..face is iconic. got the one with the purple hair and pink boots adore her too. Just waiting on the red haired one with the pet.
That's for the new video Adjen. I have so many questions about these lines. I do like some of the fashions. I'm even more curious about the quality of their bodies. I also watch Joey from beauty in a box the bodies are usually pretty poor. I can't wait for you to get yours and review. I too miss quality Barbies that don't cost an arm and a leg.
the dolls available in Shein is very limited after taking a peek while watching this vid. I just find them pretty much like the other dolls available in our local toy stores named Anbibi. The fashion is great but the body of the doll looks like they'll break under my daughter's hand in a few secs. I miss the old Barbie's with snap knees tbh and the pretty gimmicks like the Butterfly Princess and the Jewel Hair Mermaid. Nowadays they only have the Color Reveal which is boring.
@@Barbination currently obssessed in obtaining 90's Barbie dolls though. I actually bought a Barbie Extra doll and is just waiting for her to arrive so I can style her up too. I'll see how it goes and maybe I'll appreciate the new lines. Wish me luck on this one. :)
Before you buy, watch Don't call me doll, he bought some of them and did a review. I have to think they should be worth it for the outfits alone! Can't wait to hear your opinion!
It's not really new... I have one of those dolls for a year now, but they were made much earlier than that too. It's not really a "brand", there are a lot of "Defa" dolls in different styles (some look like modern babie, some more like ones from 90s, many of them copy mattel molds) they made in chinese manufacture and used as "fodder" dolls in toy stores in eastern Europe countries, because Mattel and MGA toys are way too expensive for us.
I’ve seen lots of reviews of defa Lucy I’m actually planning to get a few to redress in my sewn on fashions there are so many pretty defa Lucy’s and several had heeled feet in the review and they seemed really beautiful in the reviews
I just double checked the video it was the defa lucy fashionistas that has the heeled feet I loved the shoes on the dark skin toned doll with the gorgeous kinky curls I’m definately getting that one she’s so petty
I just started collecting these dolls, I haven’t seen anyone do a video on them yet so this will be fun ❤. I have the ones that are from 15.98-28ish I skipped on the cheaper ones because I didn’t know what I was going to get 😂 But these Defa Lucy dolls cost more than Barbie, some by around $5 more
@@Barbination I haven’t removed them from the boxes, they are now $18.98 on the site which is kinda expensive for Temu. I have the set of the 3 . I also bought a pregnant doll with twins and replaced the head with a Barbie ❤️. FUN. But yeah I think the dolls are expensive vs Barbie.
@@monicahyland8641 I ordered the short haired one for 10,50 euros and the new blonde one from the jeans collection for 13,50 euros. Not bad, considering that Barbie Fashionistas cost 13,00 euros in my country.
I have 2 of them beauty defa lucy and they have okey hair!. Love their face. They have good joints and clothes. To me they are a good match to extra dolls of Barbie.
Hi arjen, I’ve just bought the fashion one with the long blonde hair and green dress with pink flowers, she’ll be here very soon ❤ I’ll let you know how she when she gets here 🥰
I bought the cheapest ones red hair and blonde with green dress. Very very cute, slightly cheaper quality for the body but still good. Head is perfect … just the hair is definitively not Saran. But rerooted they wld be amaziiing
actually bought the 'extra' one with blue hair. the outfit is very nice, don't care about the accessories. hair is horrible, don't like the dead stare and the duck face, though the print is good (symmetrical not pixelated, not shiny). not sure if they cost less than barbie tbh? they are kinda in the same range, so yeah, idk, don't think i'm going to buy another.
They actually don't all have poly :) they have extremely soft nylon hair:) except for rainbow girl. Her hair is a bit courser but still soft and a good grade of poly. I have the whole first wave of all the articulated girls, and I highly highly reccomend. Body's are decent. Not quite as sturdy as barbie. But still great.
@@Barbination cant wait for the review I have always loved barbie but the price has gone up and quality gone down sadly but the alternative in my country Steffi love is equally expensive which is strange
The "Beauty" Defa Lucy dolls do not have several separate tops or bottoms. They're sewn together. So the one with the cold shoulder top that has sheer sleeves underneath? One piece. Sheer skirt over jean shorts? One piece. So if you hope they're going to be separate pieces, you're out of luck.
This brand is old, I had one their barbie travel knock off as kid. Now I have defa with vine red hair and she is perfect. I like her face, hair, clothes, body is ok too, i heard lot people complaining about plastic quality but i dont care because exstras are almost same and mine has worst hair. I want to buy mint hair. One problem is we dont have a lot of choise for defas but 3-5 variations
I mean companies are taking advantage of Mattel. All we get from Barbie is cheap face screening and overpriced dolls. Steffi Love and some « fake » Barbies are becoming more popular everywhere.
I live in Mexico and I buy Brittany dolls at Walmart. They are quite affordable and their clothes are SOOOO well made. I’d rather buy a Brittany than a Barbie fashion pack.

I must say Sweety that when I see mini fashions come out with the quality bags and other items that Mattel should have been giving to Barbie years ago I feel they have been letting us and more importantly Barbie down for a long time 😢......😊❤
Agreed 💯
yeah that’s absolutely true! 🥲
I recently ordered the Beauty dolls and I fell in love! The hair is poly but SO soft, their bangs are laid down pretty well tbh. Also the body plastic is thinner than the usual barbie but still pretty decent especially for display
Ah oke! ✌🏻🩷 awesome
I had not seen these yet. Thanks for the video! ❤
🩷😌🩷
I know Barbie has been lacking in quality but .... and I seem to be in the minority here but these defa Lucy dolls look like Blow up dolls to me
👁️👄👁️ and I'm not crazy about their fashions either :/ but I guess that's what makes being a doll collector so great. There's so many dolls to choose from and likes are going to vary. ❤
😆😆😆 to each their own, you’re right 🩷 haha
they could be a fun surprise tbh, I would mostly buy them for the outfits, but that could be a good deal ! thanks for this video, it was very informative 👍🏻
☺️✌🏻🩷
Cannot wait to see your video on these IRL. It’s interesting…
Just finished filming three of these girls, will put it up for this weekend! 🩷
This was a very good description of these dolls I had not heard of. I don’t know if I would buy any of these dolls as they just seems a bit over the top to me, like there is too much going on at once. I would like to see them in real life though. Thank you!
Just finished filming a video on three of them which I will put up this weekend! 🩷
On Temu, the "Extra" dolls are $30 each(USD) which is kinda expensive for a fake clone doll. The basic dolls with articulation are $18.99, and the Fashionistas with 5 points are like $10.
Yeah I was also a bit surprised by their price point actually!
The defa Lucy dolls are more expensive then the matel ones😮
😲 Their prices are so different in each app!
Tnx for the info.👍
Good to know thanks! 🩷✌🏻 Hope to review one of them soon!!
you are welcome ! Your videos are great, I always watch them with my daughter 🤗
all we want is cute dolls with nice faces
Right!!
Great video as well I just wanted to mention Defa Lucy also had a smaller brand similar to barbie extra minis the heads are slightly larger than regular knock off Chelsea and friends dolls. Sold on Temu.
Ah oke! Thanks for the info! ✌🏻🩷
@Barbination yes they are called Street Girls Defa Lucy it's 6 different diverse characters really cute for about $20 each on Temu.
@@Barbination Dreams can come true. But our faith in Mattel is a no can do. 🤣✌🤣
Thanks so much for covering these dolls! Today I finally got the Mini-fashions anatomical heart purse!!!🫀
Woaaa!! SLAY!! 🩷🙌🏻
Well I ordered one for a test run so we’ll see 😉🩷
If you watch beauty in a box he does a good review of them I don’t think they have full hair. They are really cute tho.❤️❤️❤️
😌🩷✌🏻 I will!
I think Someone else did a review of Defa Lucy, and the ones with a pony tail were only rooted around the edges.
Yikes! 😑
I ordered the redhead to do a test run! ☺️✌🏻🩷
You crack me up! 🤣
😆🙈🩷
Have 2 got the one in the sporty outfit and pontail love her..face is iconic. got the one with the purple hair and pink boots adore her too. Just waiting on the red haired one with the pet.
Aahh cute! ordered the redhead too! 🩷 And ofcourse will do a video on her! 👏🏻🎀⭐️
😌🙏🏻🩷
the dolls available in Shein is very limited after taking a peek while watching this vid.
Ah yeah well every doll is a miss compared to those 90s legends! 🥹🩷
@@Barbination currently obssessed in obtaining 90's Barbie dolls though. I actually bought a Barbie Extra doll and is just waiting for her to arrive so I can style her up too. I'll see how it goes and maybe I'll appreciate the new lines. Wish me luck on this one. :)

Defa lucy is very cute ☺️
☺️🩷
As clone doll, Defa Lucy is at the same price as Barbie when I checked Shien. But Defa Lucy looks like in very high quality. Maybe worth the price?
I ordered a test run so we’ll see! 🥰🩷
Before you buy, watch Don't call me doll, he bought some of them and did a review. I have to think they should be worth it for the outfits alone! Can't wait to hear your opinion!
Ordered the redhead for a test run so will put up a video soon! 🩷
Tengo la de cabello corto y el cabello es suave y la muñeca está hermosa 🤩

It's not really new... I have one of those dolls for a year now, but they were made much earlier than that too. It's not really a "brand", there are a lot of "Defa" dolls in different styles (some look like modern babie, some more like ones from 90s, many of them copy mattel molds) they made in chinese manufacture and used as "fodder" dolls in toy stores in eastern Europe countries, because Mattel and MGA toys are way too expensive for us.
✌🏻🩷 Ah! thanks for sharing!

Interesting!
Right!
I’ve seen lots of reviews of defa Lucy I’m actually planning to get a few to redress in my sewn on fashions there are so many pretty defa Lucy’s and several had heeled feet in the review and they seemed really beautiful in the reviews
Oeehh can’t wait to review one myself!
I just double checked the video it was the defa lucy fashionistas that has the heeled feet I loved the shoes on the dark skin toned doll with the gorgeous kinky curls I’m definately getting that one she’s so petty
It looks like these dolls r hand painted😊😊😊
😌🩷
I just started collecting these dolls, I haven’t seen anyone do a video on them yet so this will be fun ❤. I have the ones that are from 15.98-28ish I skipped on the cheaper ones because I didn’t know what I was going to get 😂
But these Defa Lucy dolls cost more than Barbie, some by around $5 more
Yeah that was actually so surprising to me 😅 but I ordered one for a test run so we’ll see! ✨
This dolls so colourfully fashion...😮 Fakey......😅 ....no fat doll....😅
😆🩷
Omg they are gorgeous! ❤❤❤

I have 2 of them beauty defa lucy and they have okey hair!. Love their face. They have good joints and clothes.
To me they are a good match to extra dolls of Barbie.
Oke! That’s good to hear ☺️🩷
Never heard of her till I saw a fb ad for her
Oooh ads even? Well they really went for it with her!
Are they available on shelves in Europe?
Don’t know! 😅 Think only online
You should get one of your favorite of each line nyo!
Totally! 🙌🏻🩷
Defa Lucy Beauty doll with red hair have saran hair very soft and well rooted hair.
oeeehh for real?! I ordered her! 🩷 can’t wait to see it!
Hi arjen, I’ve just bought the fashion one with the long blonde hair and green dress with pink flowers, she’ll be here very soon ❤ I’ll let you know how she when she gets here 🥰
🩷😍🩷
I bought the cheapest ones red hair and blonde with green dress. Very very cute, slightly cheaper quality for the body but still good. Head is perfect … just the hair is definitively not Saran. But rerooted they wld be amaziiing
🩷😍🩷
actually bought the 'extra' one with blue hair. the outfit is very nice, don't care about the accessories. hair is horrible, don't like the dead stare and the duck face, though the print is good (symmetrical not pixelated, not shiny). not sure if they cost less than barbie tbh? they are kinda in the same range, so yeah, idk, don't think i'm going to buy another.
haha oké so kinda recommending then? 😅 ordered the redhead so let’s see! 😌✨
I've seen these dolls on Ali Express. Maybe even Temu but definitely on Ali.
I've bought some from Temu.
✌🏻🩷 Ali, SHEIN and TEMU then!
They suck! Barbie rules!
😆😆😆
They actually don't all have poly :) they have extremely soft nylon hair:) except for rainbow girl. Her hair is a bit courser but still soft and a good grade of poly. I have the whole first wave of all the articulated girls, and I highly highly reccomend. Body's are decent. Not quite as sturdy as barbie. But still great.
Oh thanks for sharing! 🩷🙌🏻 Ordered a test run so can’t wait to find out!
How is the quality of the doll itself
I am about to find out! Ordered me one to take a closer look!
@@Barbination cant wait for the review I have always loved barbie but the price has gone up and quality gone down sadly but the alternative in my country Steffi love is equally expensive which is strange

I love his channel and watched his videos since he started actually!
Oh that’s good to know! Thanks for the heads up! ✌🏻
For a cheapo she looks great!
That’s what I thought 😍🩷

She has braids!
ooooh I totally dit not notice that! 🙈😅🩷
I repeat. The defa lucy "extra" line, does not have poly. They have extremely soft well rooted nylon. Except rainbow girl.

Seems like people either really love OR hate her 🤷🏼♂️ Have one on its way so well see! 😁
I have some of these I love defa lucy dolls!

The dolls have 4 different face molds
Ohh really?! haha I thought only two 😅

Barbie has a very low quality and we think Defa Lucy has a good quality because of that
🙈🙈🙈 I think that’s indeed the case here…
Look them up they aren't that cheap.
Yeah I was actually surprised 😳 but the prices are different on various apps, got one on SHEIN for way cheaper!
The purses open.
Nice! 🩷
its so sad that shein dolls are better quality than barbie dolls
Yeah It kinda hurts my heart to see that actually
I mean companies are taking advantage of Mattel. All we get from Barbie is cheap face screening and overpriced dolls. Steffi Love and some « fake » Barbies are becoming more popular everywhere.
Hope Mattel picks up on that! 👀
