All these negative comments but yet no one has test rode it to see what it’s really about. Just sayin. I like it. Might be my next bike. The 1050 cost to much.

It looks very similar to the bmw f800gs. I like it 👍

Looks like I'll be keeping the DR650 for another ten years and putting another 100k km on her.

I’d love to back to Suzuki, bought my first one (TC90) in 1971. They just aren’t serious about making a bike that’s competitive with the better made motorcycles.

Great work Suzuki, in the last 20 years, you've managed to drop the weight of the original Vstrom by a massive 6kgs. That is an incredible achievement. You also managed to significantly increase the price, whilst dropping horsepower from 98hp - 84hp and torque from 75ft/lbs - 57ft/lbs. Clap, clap Suzuki, Clap, clap :P

The old 1000 is excellent value compared to this although it does have some new electronics. Pity about no cruise comntrol.

@@MrEtnorb Yeah I hate the electronics, another reason I'd choose an older VStrom. Of course you get into the hassle of buying a hideous looking pre-ABS model, or a model with crap ABS you can't switch off or disable... so there is that dilemma.

@@campbellrousselle9752 Good points. As for weight, the world has gone backwards. The early F800GS weighed 185 kg dry and look where we are now, 14 years later.

@@MrEtnorb I had no idea they were that light. Maybe that will be a bike for me in the future. Should be able to get one cheap and throw money at the suspension.

@@campbellrousselle9752 be very careful. The upper rear shock bolt bends. My riding partner and I both had the bolts bend. He made a weld strengthening modification, I made my own brace but it is not guaranteed. There was a brace available for it but I don’t know if it’s still around. I even put a Wilber’s shock on mine and it didn’t help. For that reason alone,I wouldn’t touch an old F800GS. It also has a terribly crude traction control, the Japanese systems are much better.

So about 20kg heavier and over 20hp less than the ktm such a shame...
