THANK YOU!!! After months of leaving oil puddles everywhere and having to refill weekly, I found your video and did it today. Took me a few hours but was finally able to get it done! So happy! Works awesome now! THANKS so much!!!
Thank you guys!!! I just bought a 2008 one with 130xxx miles and a lot of leaks. I did what you said and there is not even one drop last couple days💪💪 you are awesome
This is what's going on with my car now!!!!!!!!!!! I bought it right at 85, 000 miles and about to have it done, and I think my heater core just went out because I have a leak in my passenger floor board now! Thank you so much for your help, because other than that, this car has been amazing!
Local garage wanted just over $1000 buck to replace the whole oil filter assembly as they said that buying and replacing the gasket along was not possible, you HAD to replace everything.. Found the gasket from eBay for about $25, paid a buddy $200 to fix it. Thanks for this.
World Mechanics hi, i observed a huge white smoke from d exhaust, can this procedure of seal replacement prevent d occurring of this white smoke? hoping to hear frm u. thanks
Alfred Abiodun white smoke most of the times on a Mazda CX-7 is a sign of a blown turbo. The turbo most likely will need to be rebuild or replaced. It could be something else. It is hard to tell without seeing it but we have replace two turbos so far because they were blown and the car was smoking like crazy.
Very honesty guy and help full here. I have Mazda 3 2007 , it's amazing car , I have oil leaking issues, I am gonna replace only the oil cooler gasget to AVOID RIP OFF Mechanics . Mechanics have no SHAME 👎👎👎 THANKS BRO for your generosity and honesty 🎉🎉🎉
Torque on big 15mm bolt going thru the cooler into the oil filter housing is 25-29 ft/lbs., The 10mm bolts holding the housing to the engine block are torque: 21 ft/lbs, Get creative with extensions & sockets to get the torque wrench in there. You can get a torque wrench between the front lower crossmember and the lower bumper facia. Use ONLY 6 sided sockets..not 12 sided or you'll round off the bolt heads, especially on the 10 mm. I was able to do this repair WITHOUT draining coolant or removing cooler from hoses. I only removed the oil filter housing. Got my gasket from Rockauto (Dana Brand) & no leaks yet on initial start up & idle. Will update for long term leak test. Thanks for all the tips World Mechanics!!!! Great video!
Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!! my problem is the oil pressure sensor gone bad and leaking, just ordered it 11 bucks. Not driving car or adding oil till i change the sensor.
Thank you so much for your video, went to a mazda dealer and they didn't have the gasket, tried to sell me the oil cooler @ $274, went back to your video and got on ebay and have ordered the gasket the dealer told me you can't get. Once again THANK YOU.
Did this on a 08. Video was very helpful. You forgot to mention the part about seized bolts. 😂 all good though thank you for the CX7 videos all very good.
Great explanation and incredibly helpful. was able to get the cooler off from the bottom and replace the gasket. Could not get to the side gasket since I could not get a good connection on the bolt above the sensor. Will plan to go back for this later. The cooler gasket was the main issue.
Great that I saw your video, because I'm about to change the oil pump and I'll order both gaskets because my Mazda 3 has already 111, 846 miles on it and wasn't aware that must be changed too
I thought it was a simple hose clamp until I seen this video and My car underneath looks exactly like this one did. I ordered the parts off of ebay both of them about $7 each. I was so stressed out over this. I will let you know how well it turns out.
@@SnortColdSteveAustin I figured that car was not enough of a challenge to work on so I ended up getting a more commuter friendly car that is an absolute nightmare to work on, Chrysler 200. lol the car for DIY mechanics that hate themselves.
Careful, I switched out my gasket only to find after many attempted fixes that the housing was cracked around the oil pressure sensor. Besure to clean that sucker off well and scan around the sensor inlet while it's off the car. oil gets pricey after so many attempts.
You can find the cooler (with gasket) on ebay for around $20-$25. I would stay with the original cooler unless it's physically broken like in your case.
good video, very helpful. I do have one question, how often does the housing go bad. I took the car to a shop and was told I needed a cooler, housing, gasket ,valve cover gasket to the tune of $1100. I took the car and bought these parts from MAZDA for $230. looking at your vid the housing didn't look bad and you didn't replace it. So, how often does or would a housing go bad.
Thanks for the video you are a great person who is helping many people who can't afford this. My cx7 is leaking around the same area and is caked all over the plastic just like this one, however, Is it possible it could be only the gasket that goes to the block and not the O-ring, I like to know if there's a way to tell without taking off housing so I know which seals to order.

Hi thanks again. I have a problem wondering if you can help. Trying to replace my rear left stabilizer link for the sway bar. Can not find any pictures on line of how it goes as mine fell right off while driving. And i think the parts place I bought the part from gave me a right rear link while i need a left. I am trying to install it but do not have the space for it. Thats why i think its the wrong one it is going in the same.direction as the one on the right when i look at it. Are they the same link or different. Hope you can help

Hi thanks so much for your reply. I Am little more confused now. The picture you showed me the left one is the same direction as the parts place gave me. But on my cx-7 on the rear right which is still stock and never been changed the direction on the nut is facing the wheel (outside of car) which in the picture of the ebay add shows the nuts on both side are facing in.

So i replaced the gasket and oil seal about 15 months ago. And it worked awesome. But I just went to a Jiffy Lube to have the oil changed (because it is almost as cheap to have them do it then myself), and l found that the oil is leaking again. It happened immediately after having the oil changed. Is it possible that they use high compression to push the new oil into the engine and caused the seal or gasket to fail? Have you ever run into this problem? should you ever use any type of sealant on these gaskets or seals as an added measure? Im assuming Not, but just asking.
Funny enough mins has just started leaking - just after changing the oil myself. I wonder if tighting the oil filter flexes it just enough to break the brittle gasket?

I have a 2008 Mazda 6i 2.3l engine.I noticed my car has an oil leak too. It’s not the valve cover gasket as I replaced that already. The oil pan and filter seem fine. Could this be a common problem in Mazda 2.3l engines all made around these years? That the oil cooler is causing the leak?
My Mazda CX7 has been super reliable. I have driven it almost every day for 6 years. Just found what looks like oil has sprayed out in the driver's side front wheel well, enough to drip. Any idea where this may of came from or what the problem may be?

My Mazda CX-7 is Leaking as well, I was told it was the front main seal. How I distinguish the difference of the housing gasket leak and the front main seal leak?
Hey just wanted to get your opinion. I have a 2009 CX7 and I took it to firestone. They said the engine was knocking and I have an oil leak so they didn't feel comfortable doing the oil change. They said it was dry 100% and threw oil in there for me. They told me "We plugged the leak so it shouldn't leak right now, but it wont last". I take it to my friend right up the street because firestone said "We have no idea where its leaking from so we can't show you." (after they told me they plugged it) I pop the hood at my friends shop and they left the oil cap off so my engine and side panels were covered in oil. I took it back and they cleaned it the best they could. I didn't notice any knocking at all before I took it to them. Now I can definitely hear it. Do you have any tips on how to pinpoint the oil leak? I'm about to go out there and leave a white towel underneath my car to see if its leaking from there. I have NEVER had any oil spots on the ground.
I need some help. I have a turbo 07 cx7 its leaking oil on the back side of the motor I think its coming from valve cover but I can see forsure. Any ideas
I have yellow creamy stuff in my radiator. I changed my oil and have flushed it out and yet I still this creamy residue floating on the top of the radiator fluid. What do I do to fix this. I want to keep my car.
my 2012 CRX 7 Mazda the oil filter popped off and can tightening back what is the problem I found the filter under the base of the engine I try to turn it back on but it wasn't being tighten what's the or secure what is the problem
hi how are you?. I have the same car but I have a little problem whit the gasket.i change the oil gasket like your video but oil leak is there and i bought a gasket in the auto parts but in the the gasket that bought it's doesn't look like your gasket from video so I don't know if i need buy from the mazda dealer or the gasket are different
You may have got the gasket for the newer style cooler. The cooler was redesigned and the new one has a just a rubber gasket whereas the original version had a rubber or silicone gasket inside a rigid plastic retainer. The new gasket will not work on the old model cooler. The new gasket is much cheaper, a couple dollars vs around $20 for the older style. (Old Q but answering in case it helps anyone else)
+Alex Cerezo I could not find the torques specs anywhere. What we did, we used a 3/8 ratchet and one person holding the oil filter housing while the other one is getting it tight. You will start feeling the gasket sealing but pretty much when you cannot go more give it a little bit and that should be good. It is hard to explain it. I will do more research and see if I can find the torque specs tomorrow.
I just followed all steps how to replace that parts and now my Mazda temperature going hot. what I did wrong? maybe I damage another part. what can I do?
+Christopher Zetino check for leaks around the valve cover gasket and the oil pan. These are common leaks on Mazda CX-7. If you ever need help with your vehicle let us know you can also find us on Our Official Facebook Page here: facebook.com/worldmechanicsofficialpage/?fref=ts
It's a defective part. It needs to be replaced with the updated Mazda oil cooler. The faulty one is Famoco or Ford Motor Company. You can purchase the Mazda oil cooler for around $150 on eBay direct from Japan. It will also come with a new gasket. This is the way to go otherwise you're going to keep replacing that o-ring
$150-$200 to replace the part on a car with 100k+ miles (meaning the original gasket, and perhaps the aftermarket ones too, lasts around 100k miles). Or just spend $20 on the gasket and do it again at 200k miles, then again at 300k miles, etc. You would have to get to 1.1 million miles before you spend an equal amount to replacing the entire cooler. And the new cooler has a replaceable gasket too so who knows how long that one lasts (200k?). You can get a FelPro replacement gasket today from most parts stores for less than $20.. no waiting for ebay delivery. Paying for the updated version just doesn't make rational economical sense for the DIY'er. Now if you're planning to keep the car for another 500,000 miles and are paying someone to fix it, then yeah, maybe I would get the updated cooler and cross my fingers it would last that long or the ROI goes out the window there too. You should be able to find a mobile mechanic to replace this gasket for a Benjamin or so. In any case, I doubt most people are keeping the car long enough to have to perform this more than once.
For the record, I have a 2006 Mazda 5 with over 120,000 miles and it's leaking a very tiny amount. Not enough to drip anything but last time I changed the oil I saw some black gunk buildup on the oil cooler and the filter housing so I am going to be replacing the gasket before it turns into a dripping problem. I switched to synthetic oil early on so that may have helped in allowing the gasket to last as long as it did, who knows. I don' expect I will still be owning this car at 240k (that would be like in what, year 2033?).
Is been ok, had White Smoke one time = turbo recall. Have CheckEngine wich wont go away, replaced all sensors, all injectors and still have light on. Engine revs high at start up.! Few things
What do you guys think of the cx-7? Seems like a money pit of a car (unless you diy). Too many small things going wrong in my wife's 2010 w only 80,000 miles.

Thanks for such a useful video. I've checked the link you suggest to get the part and it's currently out of stock. Do you know where else it can be purchased? I've seen some generic in eBay but don't know if they'd work for my Mazda CX7 2007. Thanks in advance!

+G. Becerra my oil filter came off and I find it and try to put it back on but it wouldn't tight ing
Does the CX7 use liquid filled motor mounts? My Mazda 5 had one go bad and it sprayed liquid all over. Just a thought. (Old Q but answering in case it helps anyone else)
Can you give me a link where I can buy that filter? Please

My Mazda CX-7 is Leaking as well, I was told it was the front main seal. How I distinguish the difference of the housing gasket leak and the front main seal leak?
Just replace the parts on the video bro they’re cheap if it steal leaks then is the main seal
Thanks mine just started leaking!
FUCK RUclips SERIOUSLY〉.... Dude, Firestone owes you a motor! It wouldnt be the first time. lol
Does it fit 2009 Mazda 6 2.0L original oem LF9v14700A?
Thanks for the video. Do you have to drain the oil when doing this?
I know its very late to answer this.... but for those wonder, the answer is at 2:35 or so.
You didn’t watch the video.
I need some help. I have a turbo 07 cx7 its leaking oil on the back side of the motor I think its coming from valve cover but I can see forsure. Any ideas
No sir not yet...
I have yellow creamy stuff in my radiator. I changed my oil and have flushed it out and yet I still this creamy residue floating on the top of the radiator fluid. What do I do to fix this. I want to keep my car.
thanks for the info.
+joseph ramos No problem
How did u keep the gasket in place while you were screwing the center bolt back on.
The gasket should go on snug around the center ring that's in the cooler.
can you do EGR on 07 cx 7
Legends
my 2012 CRX 7 Mazda the oil filter popped off and can tightening back what is the problem I found the filter under the base of the engine I try to turn it back on but it wasn't being tighten what's the or secure what is the problem
hi how are you?.
You didn’t show to take off that top right bolt, can you show how?
He said 15 mm socket and long extension
would you replace the filter in the housing as well?
yes
World Mechanics bro, the sealer you us, everybody complaining it blows out in minutes or a few miles, have you heard anything?
*showed
Did the new gasket last for long?
What would the torque specification be for the oil filter housing gasket???? Would anyone be able to help me????
+Alex Cerezo I could not find the torques specs anywhere. What we did, we used a 3/8 ratchet and one person holding the oil filter housing while the other one is getting it tight. You will start feeling the gasket sealing but pretty much when you cannot go more give it a little bit and that should be good. It is hard to explain it. I will do more research and see if I can find the torque specs tomorrow.
Tighten filter to 26ft lbs and sump plug to 20ft lbs
How many km did the seal last
Is the oil cooler unit on CX7 Ford Motor Part? 👍
Yes it is
I just followed all steps how to replace that parts and now my Mazda temperature going hot. what I did wrong? maybe I damage another part. what can I do?
Did you forget to put the oil pan drain plug back ?? Lol
thank you
Could you post the list of tools? thanks
what is the name of the filters gaskets and oil seals
Can the car be drivable for 2 hours even the oil is leaking ? Is it safe?
I have change that part already but the leak is still there can you tell me what else can be or why is still leaking thank you
+Christopher Zetino check for leaks around the valve cover gasket and the oil pan.
I don' expect I will still be owning this car at 240k (that would be like in what, year 2033?).
is this petrol or diesel please
Is it true the 2012 cx-7 turbo motors are faulty?
I can tell you 2008 did have a recal on turbo. I had mine replaced...
@@Bacardibombillo Do you have a recall number for that recall, or more info? Was it replaced at no cost?
No number. Check internet. In my case I walked in Mazda and aske for recalls on cx7
No recall number #. I repeat. Walk-in Mazda dealer. Ask for Mazda Turbo recall...
Is been ok, had White Smoke one time = turbo recall. Have CheckEngine wich wont go away, replaced all sensors, all injectors and still have light on. Engine revs high at start up.! Few things
What year is this CX7
What do you guys think of the cx-7? Seems like a money pit of a car (unless you diy). Too many small things going wrong in my wife's 2010 w only 80,000 miles.
I bought the entire NEW oil cooler, including gasket, on Ebay, for $14.32, shipped!!!
What's the car serpentine number?

Mine just broke today after 230,000 KM
Hi, could you help me with this code: (P0192) that I have on my mazda cx7. Apparently it is something wrong with the fuel preasure sensor. thanks.
