  • "Welcome to my latest video! 🎸✨ Many of you have been curious about the brands and gauges of strings I prefer for my bass guitar. So, I thought, why not dive in and share my process? In this video, I'm showing you some steps as I change my bass strings!
I also touch upon some practices that might raise a few eyebrows, like the dos and don'ts of fret polishing-particularly emphasizing the importance of protecting your fretboard, especially if it's made of rosewood, from any potential damage 😂
While I've kept this video focused on the string-changing process, I plan to delve deeper into the finer details and answer some of your burning questions in a follow-up video. So, stay tuned for that!
I hope you find this video helpful and entertaining. If you have any questions, or if there's something specific you'd like me to cover in future videos, don't hesitate to drop a comment below. Your feedback is what drives this channel forward. Enjoy watching, and please let me make some more content!"

For me, this is the best moment for a bass player when he can change the strings to new ones and have a super fresh sound.

@@Peterkleemusic Our lunists and repairmen here have given a suggestion that the maple fingerboard does not need to be oiled. It is not recommended to wipe the oil. This will make the original bright maple color darker and darker. If it is dirty, you can wipe it with a wet cloth.

@@zhiweiyao844 thank you for the info, yeah I don’t really use oil for the maple board, but sometimes lol I have to stop!

I just happened to come upon this video by chance, when I notice the fretboard oil/cleaner that you are using says on the label that is not meant for maple fretboards. At least it says that on the new 65 Dunlop’s containers.
I know this because I was using it on a maple board and found out afterwards.
    Is that a maple board?

Thanks for asking and your thoughts! I think it depends on the finish. some maple boards are coated, or satin. It's dangerous on satin finish or natural, because you will get the stain. This is maple, but coated, you wanna clean very fast after you put the oil.

Thanks for the info. My board is completely uncoated. I ended up using a different product. Thanks again, great video.
