my dad is a bee keeper. his honey is also infused with herbs. the herbs in the area. the bees literally do it for you. you should be buying local honey anyways not ordering it online for 100 dollars from a drama tiktoker.
Facts. My family loves clover but we don't add that shit ourselves we buy honey where the bees were left next to a fuck ton of clovers and told have at it
There’s a place near me that sells lavender and mint infused honey for 12 bucks a jar. It’s called Bee Barf farm. I trust the folks selling me something with barf in the name more than the folks in charge of Bee Better. They aren’t lying to me, honey is made in the stomachs of bees and vommed up. So cool.
I know they sell kick-ass caramel where I live the dude who started the compony is/was a retired firefighter like I don't know how they sell it in stores but I love it
Important Note: It's not that St John's Wort can't replace medicatiton, it's that St. John"s Wort counteracts the most common types of meds like Prozac and Wellbutrin.
Right??? When I saw that that was listed as an ingredient, I was like, this dude knows absolutely nothing about the intersection between mental illness, mental illness meds and herbal supplements. Most of us with meds know we need to avoid St. John’s wort, just like we need to avoid grapefruit and charcoal. Not to mention it interacts with birth control as well.
I’m so glad you mentioned this. I worked in marketing for a mental health company and I also have depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I knew ahead of time not to take St Johns Wort, but I learned through consumer research that the majority of folks with these conditions aren’t aware of it. It’s so dangerous for folks to take supplements without their doctors awareness, as well as start an SSRI while taking certain supplements. I encourage anyone reading this to please remember to share your supplement lists with your doctor.
It also interacts with birth control. Probably a herb to completely avoid if youre on any type of oral meds as it seems to mess with a wide variety. Same as charcoal, dont do it if your using any oral meds as itll absorb them and stop them working.

as a Canadian I feel like the Kamala video is a classic case of 'canadian thinks canada is politically flawless and usa is terrible!' which is so tired and dumb. we are having a political shit show here too, and ik dunking on canadian politicians won't get him the thousands of views he wants, but the whole video reeks of cherry-picking arguments being explained by someone with a canada-is-perfect mindset/ego. also btw, being a young masters graduate isn't really the flex he thinks it is (also the way he flashes his degree for like 3 seconds.. okaayyy??)

I am nitpicky too, because that is what forced me to the comment section. I am a business student, sure I haven't finished yet and don't have a degree to throw away, but this is...uh....Not It.
I'm a professional beekeeper and if you really want to put 80$ into some honey, my sole advice would be to buy multiple pots from local and ethical beekeepers. It's an incredible job and all of us will be grateful that you enjoy the product of our hives and support us financially, because there are no rich beekeepers😅
This is absolutely what I do. I am obsessed with honey, and some of our local guys are really accessible, and I love it. I have a suppressed immune system and my fiancée is a high school teacher, so I basically always am sick with something, and my go-to for a sore throat is straight-up honey, since it seems to kick a mild cough really quickly for me. I probably consume way more than is healthy.
All the beekeepers in my area do this as a hobby on the side because you really can't make money from it. Even met a taxi driver who sold some of his honey from the glove compartment. Best honey ever and we managed to get more because he had a business card and is very local to us. Literally just has some hives in his backyard in the city.
Counterpoint: I think you should start EVERY video with your music credentials. Especially the videos that are not music related. You paid for that degree, flex it King. 💪 🎶
Speaking of St Johns Wort, something not enough people know is consuming it can lower the effectiveness of birth control and other hormonal contraceptives. I'm really into herbal teas and I refuse to consume St Johns wort
Thanks for that comment. I was about to say that. Nature is more powerful than we realise sometimes and just because it's natural doesn't mean it can be used haphazardly😅. Heads up to all, always ask a REAL herbalist and your medical practitioner if possible before taking any medication, herbal or otherwise. Stay safe all
I was just about to comment that too please please please please don’t take St John’s Wort without talking to a doctor especially if you’re on birth control avoid it
It can also give you serotonin syndrome if you take it with anything else that chemically induces drowsiness, like antidepressants (as mentioned) or cold medicine. Every medication I take that does that now specifically calls out St. John's Wort as an interaction risk in the pharmacy pamphlet.
I wasn't entirely sure if I should trust the information presented in this video, but then Ryan mentioned his Music Theory Degree. I'm happy to be receiving my information from an educated and automatically reputable source!
"i have nothing wrong with a black woman being president" and then saying she's being "too reliant on identity politics" when she has barely, if at all, used identity politics in her campaign... yeah, not racist at all...
I wonder if he looked at how many of her supporters are talking about her in terms of identity politics (all the talk about how awesome it'll be to see Trump beaten by a black woman) and just assumed she was actively courting it.
as a greek-american orthodox christian......not only would I NEVER pay this much for whatever this dude is selling, but also this kinda smells like cultural appropriation. idk what his country of origin is but he's clearly not a monk living at the monastery so it doesn't matter if he's greek or not, full stop. The monks at these monasteries make their living through bee-keeping and selling food products, honey, wax, etc. while living a mostly impoverished life, all for some spoiled rich kid to come in and price gauge those same products (allegedly)?? hell nah...Wanna do that? give the monks a generous cut.
no chance in hell that honey is actually from greek monks. i'm willing to bet my left kidney that it's just kirkland signature honey with some basil sprinkled in 😂
@@user-kx5en8dg7u You can actually buy 3kg of honey off the monastery website for like 45€ (less than one of his jars) so I think it'd be really stupid if he was actually lying about it, same with the herbs, it's a really big markup so even if he was buying top dollar his margins would be insane. For reference his jars are 350g of honey (roughly) and he'd be able to make 8-ish jars with just 3kg, at 75$ the jar it leaves him 500$ margins to pay for other costs like ingredients, shipping, website costs, losses, etc. It'd be really dumb if he was selling a product and labeling it as something it's not, much more serious than just vaguely saying "this will heal you (or not)"
That's CRAZY a local beekeeper where I live sells 2-gallon buckets of honey for 180, ON TOP of making a multitude of other products, check her out her business is called Nikki's Chickies, Edit: she also makes infused honey that's practically the same price as her normal honey
I took a look at her website and she has GINGER HONEY therefore I am SOLD because I LOVE ginger honey and she has it in whipped form !!! Thank you for shouting her out
No literally I just know the real reason all his troubles were cured is the money his daddy makes not a sprinkle of saffron and a cozy cup of tea with honey. If that were the case then my matcha lattes would have cured me by my millionth cup or even my first cup
As a greek person born snd raised in greece (still here unfortunately), the claim “Mt Athos has never been exposed to technology” is a whole bunch of bs. They literally have electricity AND internet connection. Not to mention that males are allowed to visit the monasteries at Mt Athos, reaching the peninsula via a BOAT that obviously produces waste in the waters.
Not to mention, that although they are used in rare occasions, there are vehicles on the island, which doesn’t sound very “no technology and no pollution” to me lol.
I've never been to Greece but I literally know someone who went there during a holiday in Greece. It's open to visitors and I would go as far as to say that there aren't really places anywhere in Europe that are completely untouched by any kind of technology. I'm German and yeah we have issues with our cell service even in cities sometimes because it's just that shit but even a lot of huts in the Alps have modern amenities in them. Maybe not central heating, modern plumbing and are connected to the surrounding power supply but they can still have solar panels on them and can have a microwave.
As an Orthodox Christian: 1) I did a double take when I heard a youtuber mention Mt. Athos 2) I would never spend that much money on honey and herbs even from Mt. Athos😭 its not even like it's a small buisness being run by a monastery or church in the area, this is just some kid profiting from the "pure and holy vibes" of sourcing ingredients there
Just at a basic level, acting like having a business degree makes him a great person to speak on all of these topics is insane. Business is one of, if not the, top majors. Why does he think he’s so special? Now if he’d worked in PR or fraud investigations, I’d be interested in his perspective.
I think it’s possible his family speaks very highly of Trump due to their benefiting financially from his presidency, and like a lot of people and young adults, he absorbed his parents political views and considers his family intelligent and rational so assumed whatever they were saying as fact and reasonable positions to have.. and combined with his arrogance, overestimating his knowledge and education, decided to unleash that ridiculous video on the rest of us. Conspiracy or not, I do think the no-bid contract adds some context regardless.
Not saying that there aren't Canadians who support Trump but yeah he's from Canada so it's more likely he's viewing US politics with a lens of smug superiority that some Canadians have - how our politicians/politics are so much better than Americans.
Saw two of this guy's TikToks and was like "I wonder of he does have this marketing degree". His "analyses" only require a degree from the University of Wikipedia
St. John's Wort interacts with just about every mental health medication on the market. Our nursing instructors made a huge deal about it because people don't tend to think of herbal supplements causing problems with medications. I personally think the marketing around herbal supplements is problematic all around because they convince people that because it's not "medication" it's perfectly safe and won't cause any problems. Always report any herbal, mineral, or vitamin supplements that you take to your healthcare team!
I recently found an herbal tea with a supplement in it (L-theanine) that I just cannot find any interaction info on. Which seems really dicey to me. Is that a common thing or am I maybe just bad at doing research (or good at finding sketchy supplements)?
@@FlorSilvestre12 It's an amino acid, many of which have become popular supplements du jour. (2nd to last paragraph is on just that.) They're easy for companies cos they're normally found in foods and in some unusual fruit or nut, but we're not nornally exposed to them in the way supplements do: in unusual amounts, and not bound within the food we eat, extracted from its natural source, pure[ish, depending on chemical solvents & reactions used to extract them - _very_ "natural", chemophobes would leak from every orifice]. And in the US, there's no testing required for such "dietary supplements" like there is for medicines proper (and _known_ regulated compounds). It's always "wait & see" - if/when enough people start reporting major complications _and_ enough doctors & hospital staff are able to piece together the puzzle, then investigation _may_ begin into further examination of the issue. There's not even a requirement of testing for purity standards, never mind contaminants, fillers, & other unlisted ingredients. Honestly, you should beware and avoid any supplement or "herb" you don't know. "No known interactions" and "not well-studied" go hand-in-hand with "natural """medicine"""" & supplements, and personally I think it's a dangerous game that _at best_ wastes money, but can easily interfere with medications and with processes of the body, and lives are irreparably changed and lost, usually without any idea. *Just because it's a "herb" &/or in tea, that doesn't mean it's safe!* (See the history & multiple bans & unbans & re-bans of Kava kava, for one example, which k/IIed livers and people. Or the history of Victorian food adulteration in European mercantilism, Old Capital[ismo]'s roots.) On L-theanine, I found that there's not much research on it being taken as a nutritional supplement (very different from studies on how it acts in natural processes in the body, in test subjects, in lab animals, in vitro...). But I did find this, from 13 April 2022: _"Why do I feel weird after taking L-theanine?"_ _Anxiety. While L-theanine is often used to alleviate anxiety, it can increase feelings of anxiety in some people. This is extremely rare but is most likely caused by the changes the L-theanine has on how the brain deals with serotonin and GABA._ That's it. And that's based on existing knowledge of how said amino acid functions, not how it interacts when taken as a supplement. Be wary. I'm not trying to freak you out. Just arm yourself with knowledge, and remember that most of the "natural cures" touted as "the alternative" to modern medicine and greed and rigorous study are just as profit-motivated as any legitimate medical sources. I'm not saying there aren't enormous flaws in especially the US medical system (it's [redacted] and terrible!), but turning to the sketchy snake oil salesman is not clever either. "Out of the frying pan and into the fire," as they say.
@@mookinbabysealfurmittens Thank you for the info. I was not gonna try the tea without running it by my doctor first, and even then the fact that it does something to brain chemicals makes me wary of mixing it with my antidepressants. I only bought it because it's got like every aromatic flower you can make into a tea in it and I love the taste of floral tea. :P
The thing about negativity reminds me of Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsay, the angry Brits of the early-2000s. They got a following in America because of their harshness to Americans, playing off the sentiments in America towards the Brits, and then Cowell got plastic surgery and everyone made fun of him for the results, something he'd 100% if it wasn't him, and Gordon made a poor excuse for a grilled cheese sandwich. They gave it, now they're in the position to take it.

As someone who has a Master’s degree alongside 10+ years of working experience, the opinions of someone with a Master’s are far more poignant when they have actual real-life experience behind them. Like, I can posit theory all I want, but the moment I put that idea into practice, everything could be off and fall apart. I hear “youngest to have a Master’s” and think “ah, so you likely don’t really know what you’re talking about because you probably haven’t used what you learned in a job setting.” 🤷♀️ Excellent video as always!!
The funniest thing about honey for health products is that you should eat LOCAL honey because it has local flowers which can help with seasonal allergies. And a jar might cost you like 10 bucks but you got it local and probably helped a small business. Why do I need Greek bees when I got bees at home? Lmao
Agreed! I find him very off-putting. He should not film himself straight on or angel the camera down to up. Some vocal & speech training would do him a wealth of good, & actually do some research & stop relying on that "degree" he keeps waving & throwing in his vids.
The reason Kamala isn't more progressive in her stance is because she wants to flip the republicans that are getting tired of Trump. That would be a much harder sell if she was more aggressively progressive, so even though i do agree and wish that she would be more to the left, i think this is absolutely the right move for her campaign
"The next issue that I have with the Kamala Harris campaign is that that they seem to be very heavily relying on social media engagement, as well as celebrity endorsements, to create this sort of image of widespread popularity" ????? Literally every political campaign does that????????? What kind of criticism is this? This guy very clearly has absolutely no clue what he's talking about
I mean it's mostly political campaigns from the United States that do that, it's not that common in other countries. But literally every recent U.S. candidate has done celebrity endorsements because they work, it doesn't get more "tried and true" than that. Even if he knew everything about product marketing, political campaigning is different, his opinion holds little weight.
As a professional marketer myself, he should've known marketing 101 is to stay away from politics 😐 (unless your business is politics ofc). I guess that master's degree wasn't as helpful as he thought 😂

Yeah I was thinking that too! Like what exactly are we defining as "technology" here? The buildings displayed in the photo and the man-made components that comprise them qualify as technology by many standards.
Right, it’s buzzword bullshit. The creation of the first wheel was a technological advancement, scythes used to harvest crops are “technology”, whatever tool his procurement team uses to harvest the honey is certainly a technological tool; but I’m pretty sure they don’t mean those things when they talk about “technology bad >:(“
Pretty sure it's conspiracy nut code for "No electricity and no 5G". Never mind that that honey would've been subjected to all of that during transport, anyway.
on the kamala thing, saji sharma has a great video on it (for anyone interested it's called How Democrats Successfully Propagandized "BRAT") but her marketing is actually great and also she's been marketing herself and tim walz as actual, real human beings in down-to-earth interviews where they joke around and talk about their experiences growing up so she's actually crushing it (even though she's got some insane takes i.e. fracking, border control, not wanting a weapons embargo, etc) also trump and jd vance make it super easy for kamala and walz to seem normal
@@JKweez She doesn’t come off as “normal”. That psychopath laugh and her repeating nonsense during a speech is completely unacceptable. “Letting go of what has been before, because the passage of time…”😂

Honey is most beneficial when sourced from apiaries local to YOU. By using flowers that are native to your location, you get health benefits that can do things like lessen seasonal allergies. Why would you pay astronomical prices for honey from a region nowhere near you? Support your local apiaries and get actual quality honey.
I'm pretty sure if you're already on antidepressants and some other psychiatric meds, it's actually unsafe to take St. John's Wort. It's contraindicated for several meds. I don't know whether that's because it lowers the efficacy/absorption of them, as it can with hormonal birth control (and thus probably some types of HRT), or because it amplifies the effect of the meds and puts you at risk for things like Serotonin Syndrome, or for some other reason I'm not aware of. But you should always make sure no herbal supplements you're on or herbal tea you consume are contraindicated by medication you're taking. Just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it's harmless.
I get so annoyed when people criticize Kamala. I’ve never seen it done well or in a way that didn’t just make me feel like it’ll will just help Trump win, but when you criticized her I like breathed in relief, you were very mindful and clearly were coming from a well thought out place.
It's called cultural appropriation. Kamala Harris is of Indian descent. Not African. There is no good way to appropriate someone's culture. Remember in 1000 years archaeologists will dig you up and go by your chromosomes to see if you are male or female, your dna to see what race you are. People don't live long enough to wait for people to decide something arbitrary like what gender they are.
@@Al-Cohol999 Mixed race people exist, it's not our fault that you're not smart enough to understand what happens when you mix the red paint with the blue paint.
There are a ton of valid criticisms of Kamala Harris made by people who won’t be voting for Trump. Most of these criticisms are just her history as a DA and failure to make statistically significant positive change with policies she championed. I guess you’re right that criticizing one candidate does help the only other viable candidate though.
@@CamBoone Yes! And I’m saying that those critiques are valid, but I see a LOT of critique that clearly is coming from weird places. Just vague dislike, racism, sexism… I’ve seen some awful takes that people say are genuine critiques. I don’t think she’s this awful person or amazingly perfect, and most takes I’ve seen are one of those. I like seeing the nuance. And yeah, I just feel like painting her as vaguely bad just muddies the water and would lead to Trump winning due to vote splitting and dumb voting systems.
Ryan, thank you for making this video. Sadly, this TikToker is an example how self righteous and hypocritical some influencers can be. I also believe most influencers are not like this TikToker. In fact, I believe most content creators, including you, Ryan, stand for what's right. Your ethics and how you strive to make the world a better place are something to truly celebrate.
I don’t know why anyone should listen to some kid with a business degree when it comes to political campaign strategy. I guess anyone can talk about anything now if they have a large enough following, smfh.
It definitely doesn’t seem like a conspiracy theory to me to surmise that a guy whose daddy got a sweet business deal from the Trump administration and also coincidentally works for said business would go on to trash Kamala Harris. 😂

A 1kg jar of thyme honey made by Orthodox nuns themselves and sold the next day is €6 euros.
i suffer from chronic depression, getting off meds would probably kill me. i always found this way of advertising to be incredibly disgusting and malicious, taking advantage of the incredibly high and still increasing rate of depression and depressive episodes among desperate people is just outright gross to me. there is no way that some "natural" honey and herbs could fix the chemical imbalance in my brain. really shameful on his part.

For the saffron diamond comparison I think he may be using industrial diamond as the comparison. I would call it misleading, but at wholesale prices they may well be cheaper than saffron is at retail prices. Okay, but if this is supposed to be BEFORE you work out, why would you wanna lower your blood sugar, your body does that naturally. St John's was probably fucking with the medication, making it less effective. I also have schizoaffective, and use birth control. I avoid st johns like the plague

Y’all are awesome, my husband and I are hoping to start keeping bees next spring!
All the beekeepers in my area do this as a hobby on the side because you really can't make money from it. Even met a taxi driver who sold some of his honey from the glove compartment. Best honey ever and we managed to get more because he had a business card and is very local to us. Literally just has some hives in his backyard in the city.

Thanks for that comment. I was about to say that. Nature is more powerful than we realise sometimes and just because it's natural doesn't mean it can be used haphazardly😅. as a greek-american orthodox christian......not only would I NEVER pay this much for whatever this dude is selling, but also this kinda smells like cultural appropriation. idk what his country of origin is but he's clearly not a monk living at the monastery so it doesn't matter if he's greek or not, full stop. The monks at these monasteries make their living through bee-keeping and selling food products, honey, wax, etc. while living a mostly impoverished life, all for some spoiled rich kid to come in and price gauge those same products (allegedly)?? hell nah...Wanna do that? give the monks a generous cut.
greek people don’t own the right to honey. it’s world wide
no chance in hell that honey is actually from greek monks. i'm willing to bet my left kidney that it's just kirkland signature honey with some basil sprinkled in 😂
@@user-kx5en8dg7u and that's partially what makes it cultural appropriation!!!

As an Orthodox Christian:
1) I did a double take when I heard a youtuber mention Mt. Athos
2) I would never spend that much money on honey and herbs even from Mt. Athos😭 its not even like it's a small buisness being run by a monastery or church in the area, this is just some kid profiting from the "pure and holy vibes" of sourcing ingredients there
It’s definitely “market in the Temple” thinking. Time to flip his table.
Seriously 😂we do better analysis in my sociology class
@@FlorSilvestre12 Well there's no evidence that theanine does anything, so you're probably safe.
Or the history of Victorian food adulteration in European mercantilism, Old Capital[ismo]'s roots.)
On L-theanine, I found that there's not much research on it being taken as a nutritional supplement (very different from studies on how it acts in natural processes in the body, in test subjects, in lab animals, in vitro...). But I did find this, from 13 April 2022:
_"Why do I feel weird after taking L-theanine?"_
_Anxiety. While L-theanine is often used to alleviate anxiety, it can increase feelings of anxiety in some people. This is extremely rare but is most likely caused by the changes the L-theanine has on how the brain deals with serotonin and GABA._
That's it.

For the energy honey, what if you just got a skim milk latte, no sugar, honey, and cinnamon? That would probably replenish electrolytes more because milk has everything electrolyte drinks have
A wise man once said "he who smelt it, dealt it"
Okay, but if this is supposed to be BEFORE you work out, why would you wanna lower your blood sugar, your body does that naturally. My daughter is a diabetic and it was encouraged to have her do jumping jacks to lower her sugar, but that we had to be careful when dosing her while at recess so she doesn't collapse. (Small children are sensitive to insulin)
$80 per jar??? I buy a 1/4 gallon bottle for like $1.50 at the grocery store next door.

Hearing this guy talk about harris' campaign with virtually zero insight is giving me brain rot
As someone who half works at an apiary that is a ridiculous price for honey. Even the most expensive jar sold is $48 but it is a big jar and the honey is from nectar from specific flowers as well as including comb.
He was eliminating the competition
Hi I am watching this on replay, Bee Better company produces their own honey .Their farm is about an hour from where I live. They do not outsource the honey. Also they are full of very fake marketing in Alberta Canada . They own a farm in Leduc Alberta.
Ah, I’m not surprised that’s where he’s from as there’s a lot of Trump lovers there. And he’s gotta be marketing to kids. There’s so much b.s. about his product.
@@phoenixgirl70Yep. As soon as I saw Alberta I was like, It's the Texas of Canada!
oh god theyre in MY province too? god theyre really giving me second hand embarrassment rn. i already have to deal with them "fuck trudeau" bitches, now this fucker? UGHGUUGUGG
Pedantic correction incoming: Italy is most well known for *espresso*, seeing as it was invented there. Coffee drinking actually has its origins in Ecuador! The more you know (:
As a mechanical engineer (jk, my degree has nothing to do with what I’m about to say), I think it’s super hypocritical to have a “health” company that preaches to nature brag about imported goods.
It reminds me of that one episode of iCarly about the green project where Freddie has imported earthworms and the teacher is like “do you realize how much jet fuel was used to import those worms?”
It’s like “we polluted the rest of the planet to bring you this item from a less polluted place”
5:27 “based on my objective analysis” so stupid I want to think this is satire
he then follows it up with “i BELIEVE that…” like??? how is believing an objective thing
HI EVERYONE I HOPE WE ARE ALL HAVING A GREAT WEDNESDAY
You too my friend!
Yes thanks
unfortunately not
I literally buy a gallon of honey locally every year for 120 bucks, the bee better jar is so teeny XD
with the minimum monthly wage being 830€ and minimum daily wage being 35-37€ i doubt any greek would spend 75$ (67€) for a jar of honey
As an european following the elections from afar, i didn't even know she was a black woman until today lmao. There goes the "identity marketing" argument
Jeez the influencer to scam artist pipeline is just an open road huh
Honestly I'm really glad we're bringing the word "grifter" back.
Hey Ryan, love your videos. I may not be politically alligned with your viewpoints but your well constructed criticisms, arguments snd counterpoints help me understand where i stand on the political spectrum and helps me understand the arguments i stand for and my politically opposite friends stand for. Your channel has really opened up my eyes. Thank you for making these videos and Keep up the good work!

Studying music at Berklee is SO much more impressive than an MBA from Random University™️
The way you said “I don’t do that because that would come off as extremely pretentious” 😂
