    *This is exactly what I needed for trimming the edge of oak boards **MyBest.Tools** I also used the disk to round edges while building an oak - walnut cabinet.*

    Thanks for running through how to best use one of these machines.
    I couldn’t believe my luck when I picked up the bigger brother to this one (1150 I think) for only $420 on an online auction site here in Australia. It’s nearly brand new. I don’t have the space for this and some other machinery I’ve picked up cheaply over the years yet but I couldn’t let that machine go. I’ll also need to put 3phase on but as an electrician that’s not going to be a difficult task. I can’t wait for the new shop to be built so I can hop into using it.
    Cheers again for the video👍

    Nice video! I have been torn between a belt/disk combo and an edge sander. Your video sold me on the edge sander and, in particular, the Hammer. Thanks.

    Great review! I have ordered this machine a while ago (still waiting) but it’s worth the wait as I now know I am 200% right! I guess this is the one time where (although the same company ) Hammer beats Felder - and Felder is just unbeatable... you are a smart man. Congrats on all you do and Thanks again for another great video! I admire your effort and work

    I have the same machine, and I absolutly love it.
    One thing, you should not push your mitre fence into the mitre track. It goes in from the top. The bottom plate that is installen on the mitra track part of the fence, needs to be set into the mitre channel and fastened with the extra screws, them you just pop the mitre fence in from the top. This altso makes sure the mitre fence cant be pushed out when sanding. This also makes the mitre fence easy to use in the hammer bandsaw.
    Sorry for the bad english, its kind of hard to explain.

    I have been looking for this now a half year. After seeing this vid, I made up my mind and ordered it. You really should ask for a sponsor money from Felder! I dumped Jet oscillating sander because Hammer seems so much easier to use. My hope is that Hammer would also make reasonably priced oscillating drum sander.

    Felder produces most of their machinery based on orders received so 9-10 weeks lead time is pretty standard even in neighbouring Germany. Just how they operate.

    Hi Andy! Thanks for the video! I’d really like to see a detailed video on your wide belt sander. I’m thinking about doing the investment for my workshop. Got some Felder inventory in my workshop and I must say that I am very pleased with the quality and the service that Felder provides.
    Have a great day!

    Hi Andy, thanks for this review as I was considering the Axminster. I am finding it hard to find 180 grid paper. Where do you source yours? Felder also only has up to 150. Thanks

    I have come back to this video several times as I wait for my HS 950 to be delivered next month. One question I have is you mention sharpening chisels...is there a limit to what you would do metal wise (ferrous of course)? Do you need a different belt for metal? Thanks.

    Hi Andy, thank you for another informative video. I'm looking to buy this type of sander. I was looking at the Jet but this looks so much better for not much more money. Andy, is yours the 230v 50Hz version? thanks again Pete

    I wouldn't say you're not a good reviewer mate. This was to the point and covered the bases. What's the mitre gauge you're using with it btw? Looks an Incra style one but with a taller face to mount profile/fence to.

    So if you are not bothered by the slow paper change of a drum sander. A drum sander should be a good cheap alternative? Unless their is a quality difference

    • @ManorWood
      @ManorWood  2 года назад

      Hammer belt changes are fine the jet style is the slow change ! Drum sander is another thing altogether, and a mage slow change . I did have one and found it a nightmare when paper ripped !!

    Are you selling your Felder 950 sander on EBay? Pics showing your workshop…. I recall you saying that it was sold some time ago. I suspect somebody is trying to pull a scam.

    • @ev8301
      @ev8301 2 года назад

      @@ManorWood it got pulled down shortly afterwards. But it was pictured within your workshop a 100%
      I won the bid on a Martin T60A saw last week…. Scam. Same thing. Pictures of the saw from the previous owners add, the same saw is being given an overview on RUclips by a chap called Harvey. Asked him if he’s selling it, and just like you said it was sold ages ago.
      Saw is back for sale after I got no reply to my intricate questions about it and my order was cancelled . Somebody is going to be stung, as there is no easy way to call eBay and inform them.
      Thank you for your reply, keep up the good work. Gutted by the fire that you’ve suffered. But glad that the business is back in the mend. 👍🏻
