Hello. Is the RL 160 vacuum cleaner powerful enough for this machine?
Georges
Yes
Umm...
Excuse me squire...
Did you say, "small shop"... Cough cough cough.... 😂😂😂
Mate, what an addition aye, goes well with all your other beasts.😉
Haha , my old shop was small , new shops a good size just was you need some much space end to end on machines :).
i have similar model but having issue with first belt tracking to one side and getting tour up
You are the only youtuber investing in quality machines. Almost all youtube woodworkers are still using handtools.
I am setting up to produce furniture, as I have a rent free shop at home I am investing while I can on a one man work flow
Great machine in a great shop. In another video you wanted the SCM/Minimax 95 cm. I know you are all in Felder. But what was the biggest reason not to go for the SCM?
I really am not all in on Felder , but I like day to day easy of use .. I think Altendorf make the best Sliding saw but have to say Felder Planner and Wide belt just do what I need .. simple digital control of height for one . so I finish my thicknesser pass ten drop that by .1mm on the sander easy .. also the function when you change paper from 80Grit to 150grit . click the button and the FW950 take care of the height .. SCM was around the same price but was just more analog and for me would have been a slower way to work .. after planning and thicknesser AD951 it would not have been as good easy for me.. but SCM is a great machine !!
@@ManorWood Great. Thanks for the update.
We just got one similar at my work last week different brand but does up to 35inches. Pretty handy
Shop talk is great 👍
Congratulation. You managed it just right. Who knows what will be after Brexit. At least the Transport would be more complicated.
I was thinking the same thing:)
Hi! Is there an option to acces the tape while its running? To clean it with a silicone stick.
Now that you are famous on youtube. Perhaps you could visit felder showroom in uk and do an overview of their different machines.
Lol. Not sure they would have me
Great video! I noticed no matter how big a machine I buy it's not big enough for the first job!
Maybe because you did not buy our WFSEN woodworking machine , please contact me +86 135 7321 7276
I really would love to have a sander like that. Felder makes such nice equipment, but like you said, those wide belt sanders are sooo expensive
Hi Dekker ,our belt sander machine from CHINA , good quality , if you interest it ,please feel free contact me .+86 135 7321 7276
Did Felder make that machine ? I doubt it
Interesting video. In the market for a wide belt myself so will be very interested to see the follow up video!
Thanks.
Hey brother whats your decision factors when considering upgrading from a low production tool (in the US i would say 110 volt) to a high production tool? (220v)
I am in the UK all my hand tools are 240v. Donnie 100% sure but my understanding is thee is no difference in power
That is one tidy looking used buy there bud. Always interesting your Sunday shop talks. Great stuff.
It’s like new got really lucky but did look for 8 months..
Thanks again Andy good video as normal not on instagram so won't be winning lol
Hi Mark, Join Instagram there are some very cool wood workers uploading great picture of the work world wide , I find it very hard to join all the media app and stuff but I have to these day :)
Congratulations on your new wide belt sander, I hope it earns its keep.
Very impressive workshop and new sander👍👍👍
Hey Andy, lovely sander but what make are your hold down clamps that you have for your sliding table saw?
Thank you .. Clamps are RUWI check this out .. ruclips.net/video/YxRuOoT7wLg/видео.html
I'm looking into buying a machine like this. I have no clue how to specify the hardness of the rollers tho. What's the hardness of yours? the shore hardness of the rubber on the rollers. I mainly will use it to push through hardwood table tops, epoxy tables and calibrating full slabs. Will get one with 2 belt lines, one like the one you have and a single calibrating roller. Just not sure how to specify the shore hardness of the rollers for what you use it for, which is about the same as what you use it for. Thanks
No idea :). It’s just a stock spec machine ask your Felder rep
@@ManorWood will do, thanks for the reply
Love your set up and workshop,😍 you’ll not get much more in there 😜 are you planning on getting anything else in terms of machinery.
Cheers , not that is it for now . maybe a large CNC but that will be 2020 .. :)
Wow, really nice bit of kit there. H
Ain't that funny? I bought the exact same piece of machine....
how you getting on with it ?
'small shop' :):):):)
Hi, I just got a quote for a new machine exactly like yours, even though I think the 16.5 grand (euros, ex vat) is a little bit hefty, I think I'll go for it after watching this. I'm a little bit curious to hear what you paid for the used one- you were lucky I didn't find it on machineseeker before you did:)
thank you for this overview, I have all Felder machines. Just added a FD21 and shopping for the WB. Felders production times are long now so I am looking for used. anything to share now that you have had it a while?
Felder group uk does these customer testimonials. You should contact them and let them know, that you too are a felder user. They have testimonials of people using just hammer machines. You definitely qualify. Except that you would have to hide your sliding saw.
😱😱😱😱✌✌✌✌✌✌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great shop, I just picked up a felder slider/shaper and a felder AD741 jointer planer, your review had a lot to do with my choice, I'm thrilled with the purchase and will be going back to get the felder band saw!
Cheers , are you in the uk ?
@@ManorWood I'm in New Jersey, USA, luckily I have a felder headquarters one state away. Took a lot of inspiration from your shop over all, ordered aluminum extrusions to make my assembly tables like yours. I will be posting up some videos of my new shop once I get it up and running. I will chime in when its ready and definitely give you credit for your ingenuity. Love your channel and your passion for the craft!
Nice one , Look forward to seeing it all !!
HI! May i ask you about the purchasing price? yes i heard that was a second hand purchase, but i lost the track on the score. Thanks Man!
Andy can you run this machine on a phase converter if you don’t have three phase and what kind of power requirements does it have? Thanks
I am not 100% on that but it’s 7.5 motor so maybe not
Yes you can run it on a converter, we had this exact machine where I used to work and we did fine. 👍
Thanks again super
Would love to know your thoughts on the scm machine. Also your solution to epoxy messing up the paper.
Drum sander have a small drum so can heat up quickly . Leave resin for a week before machining , wide belt is better for heat
as for SCM I was a little worried about buying a 2004 machine which was not a lot less than the 2017 Fw950 I bought , I also thought the more analog style of inputing the thickness would annoy me after a while as I would be entering the number in the planner + .2 or 3mm of a mill then have to work in a different way for each sand pass .. this way I set me thicknesser then turn and set my sander .2 less if that make sense
Does this work on MDF? I'm looking to finish MDF to 220-400 grit
Thanks👍
👍🏻
Love this Andy! Felder does sell the depth sensors-even wireless. I’m thinking about giving it a go on my eventual wide belt. Cheers on the epic upgrade!
Oh Ok that could be useful a wireless one !! unless the slab had been under a thicknesser I would still creep up on it while sanding as it really need to be dead flat or you will brake belts !
@@ManorWood That's a great point! The 1103 I am spec'ing has a 53" wide Silent Power planer cutter head as Step 1 that will take up to 1mm off the entire surface before hitting the 2nd and 3rd steps of sanding so it gives me a bit more flexibility, but 1mm is not a lot of tolerance for cupped boards!!
Felder, это оборудование, которое никогда себя не окупит. Дорогие цацки для наивных понтарей. Во всяком случае в рашке.
How tall is the sander from floor to top of cabinet?
How big is your workshop?
around 10m x 12m in the main room and 5m x 3.5m on the resin room . then I have a spray area around 4m x 10m ish
@@ManorWood nice place, i have about 11x5. I waiting for felder's machines, unfortunatly september-october :/
Great piece of machinery Andy !!! How do you move that beast around the shop?
pallet truck :)
Hello Andy, great walk around. Question I have is what brand of belt do you use. I am having trouble with belt chatter on mine. It is chattering at the seam. I have tried a number of things stepping tape on the back and running it through multiple passes without adjusting. It is certainly a belt type thing I am certain. Manufacturer of mine has been no help......Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you explain what you mean by Chattering ?
are you saying you have tried lots of belts and you still get chatter marks ?
looks amazing who did you use to Transport it over.
Was shipped it door to door for my
I notice you have left the chuck key in your lathe.TSK TSK
Thats my Son Lathe . I will tell him :)
Wow😍
What cfm rating is this machine?
not sure ?
Felder-Германия!
Отличная у тебя мастерская и сам с руками,молодца!
