In Switzerland when you get a dog - even when you already had many dogs before, you are obliged to go to puppy school with it. Seeing Cleo, I am very glad about that. I have not heard about a deadly incident since they made that law. BTW all of our dogs have to be chiped (no strays!), they are registered and we pay a yearly (very affordable) tax on them. If people want to feed local birds so badly do so in your backyard with appropriate food. I have magpies, butcher birds and currawongs that visit my yard and I feed them meat. If I have leftovers that are no longer fit for human consumption I dump them on the ground under the trees in my yard. If the birds, ants and other critters who visit want to eat what's there, it's up to them and they still have to forage through the food to find what they want.

John stop blaming Cleo. It's amazing what can happen when you actually train a dog ay. That was his responsibility when he first got HER, not IT as he called her about 15mins in. His kids getting hurt, his fault. You don't let kids run away screaming from a puppy, the pup thinks they're playing. They're wondering if they did the right thing getting her!!! These people aren't dog people and shouldn't have one. John looks so proud to show how naughty she is like when the door bell rang. I'm sorry but people need to know how to look after an animal in every way BEFORE getting one.

Oh I'm not blaming the dog. I'm blaming the parents for keeping the dog and bringing their kids in danger. If you get a dog (especially pups) you make sure to put a 100% in them and training them. This fam clearly didn't from the start and that dog doesn't deserve them.

Poor Cleo. Her owners did zero research before getting her. They didn't train their kids to be calm. The kids are loud and wild and so it makes the dog wild. I *wish* people would do some research on the different breeds and get some advice as to which breed might be best suited to their home, other than "let's go to the pet shop and buy whatever we like the look of". I used to breed boxers and would have turned her away on the first meet and greet and advised them to get a different breed. I'd have explained why, pointed out the high activity levels of the breed and all the other negative points, then given them some suggestion about breeds that would be a better fit, but they wouldn't have gone away with a boxer pup from me.

I figured after the 1st time my parents would of done more research especially before getting a puppy. All the experiences the cats have had with dogs scared them, I can't understand how getting a puppy would've been a good idea. I said a long time ago that the chasing needs to be corrected before it becomes a habit, but my mom told me I was the one that needed to do research and that they're work things out on their own... I still haven't seen any change in her behavior and seems to be bullying the cats now. There is them who seems to not think of the existing animals well being. Then there is me who had major guilt putting my 1st rabbit in a possibly dangerous situation, I thought the right thing to do was getting him a partner. Sense he was euthanized last year I've had this ongoing emptiness, I feel very uncomfortable getting a 2nd rabbit due to the female being very territorial.
