All I can say is “you ain’t seen nothing yet”. I’ve seen this guy play live many times and I promise you he is World Class, I mean off-the-charts amazing! When you watch him live it’s like being in the presence of genius.
Lucky you! Will love to be able to see him live. Whereabouts have you able to enjoy him? Don’t think he will be touring anytime soon, hope he does.
Seen him twice and agree, awesome talent
@@marialenger4902 Essex county england.hes a Scotsman tho ..pure class
You gonna copy and paste this comment all over all of social media yeah?
Where can he be seen
My good friend Kenny. Played in our local in Auchtermuchty late 70s early 80s. His band was called Sound Edge. His brother played guitar and sang to. Top blokes.
Is there any chance we can get him on our show?
@@ONSTAGEMUSICPODCAST you have details I can pass on to him
@@ONSTAGEMUSICPODCAST I will let him know my friend
@@ONSTAGEMUSICPODCAST just passed your details to him via messenger mate
@@craigsutherland4726 Thank you so much
From the greatest era that will never come back.
Not only is he super skilled, but the sound is so liquid and mellifluous. He is now one of my favorite rock guitarists. Plus, he's so likeable!
He should have got a golden buzzer
But he surely has golden hands. What an amazing musician!
Kenny Petrie is an absolute marvel of a guitarist! So glad more people are getting to witness his talent!
That smile on Simon's face says it all
His talent is light years beyond this programme! Outstanding.
His smile lit up that hole entire room they didn't need lights on him he was casting his own light incredible and not just because of his age makes him good he's good because he's good he's probably been playing guitar for years obviously
He plays in our local pub. He's only 64, he's not old. I'm 64 I don't consider myself to be 'old'. He's fantastic.
I’m also 64 and you are so right, it’s not old at all. Love this man and his guitar ❤
Old's a state of mind and a state of perception.
Oh Kenny!!! You are phenomenal!!!! Can't get enough, have listened to it non stop, just incredible 😍💖💖💖💖💖💖
Why is the crowd surprised? This guy was like 20/30’s when this music was flooding the world - he’s sounds amazing
I was just thinking the same thing. I figured he was around my age when I seen his clip in another video and was thinking, why be surprised, when he grew up during the 80s and was influenced by the bands from back then. He's great!
Because he’s not the archetypal 20 year old rocker with long hair, tattooed and muscled, like an extra from an 80s rock video-the image we think of when we think of OTT shredding
Had the same thought. Are they surprised when, for example, Jimmy Page is playing? or Elton John?
The absolute seemingly effortless talent of this man. Just brilliant and what could be better that the joy on his face. You can’t fake what he has - genius.
He is a genius been seeing him for years too very entertaining live just amazing

I'm very lucky to see him play locally to where I live. An absolutely phenomenal guitarist, whose playing is quite incongruous with his appearance of being everyone's favourite grandad.
You have to remember he's the rock generation and doesn't lose it when he gets older and he doesn't mandatorily become the stereotype "granddad".
I've seen him with Soankey and the Hipthrusters in the Cow and Telescope, he's wonderful
I'd like to know his rig. His sound is phenomenal. I see Roland Jazz Chorus
Kenny, you are a Guitar God!
I would love to see you play live!
Woooaaaaahhhhh!!!!! The best audition I’ve ever seen!!! 👍💪👏
The smile on this man's face tho!!! loved it!!!
"Born to be wild" in the background soon after he finish his performance was brilliant choice.
He has a beautiful smile!!!
Omg this makes me so happy to see him getting the recognition he deserves!!! Seen his first couple videos on RUclips posted 5 years ago! Woah! Now look at him 🔥👌🏽
What a talent.. God bless him indeed
Just love his smile
😲😲😲 holy shiiit!!! This guy is amazing I want to hear more 😀😀
He’s right up there with guys like Malmsteen or Satriani. Please guys you have to arrange something. Have him play with the real aces! He deserves it!!!
Phenomenal!!!!!!! I've replayed this like 50 times. Wow 😲
He is amazing. Why was he not in a famous rock band???
Mr. Spankey and the Hip Thrusters
one of my favorite guitarists just so easy and pure
This man is a guitar god! I want to see him live sooooo bad!
The Reverend from Mr Spanky and The Hipthrusters. He’s a legend around these parts
Finally! HES ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!
He'll yes!!! Rock on KENNY!!! Damn he's young at ♥ and can hang with the pros
I rockin love Kenny!❤❤❤
He does a version of "Freebird" with his band that has the most amazing solo. Check it out.
Man this guy is SO METAL even though he's old and dude, you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER see Simon smile that big and the entire crowd was on their feet
He's 64. He's not old
@@OldManDave1960 Regardless, this guy is fucking awesome
I would have loved to Hear Kenny in the late70's and 80's. What a rocker he is to this day. Go boy!
Reverend Kenny Petrie is amazing!
Well done kenny wonderful.x❤️
I've seen alot (and i mean ALOT) of great guitar players but you sir... you are pure inspiration a shredding divinity !
Loved that especially him jamming at the ending
By the way, Kenny is one year older than Simon Cowell, and plays around Essex in a band called Mr Spankey and the Hip Thrusters. He's an absolute legend.
I'm hearing some Eddie Van Halen influence. Makes sense the man was probably about 19 or 20 when Van Halen exploded onto the scene in "78" This guy is an absolute master. Remember Eddie had a great smile too
Absolutely fantastic Kenny!!
MERCI MONSIIEUR !!! VOUE ETES UN VIRTUOSE ...
Awesome
He’s 64 years old. There’s nothing strange about this. He is from the generation that grew up on rock ‘n’ roll. When he was a little boy The Beatles in the 60s were the biggest band. it’s nice to see that people can find out that just because you’re in your 60s doesn’t mean you only listen to soft rock
Sencillamente espectacular,,,I lo ve rock and roll, Lo Banco a muerte a Kenny , Un mago ❤
The crowd and jury should remember that all rock legends are, mostly, over this man's age... And he rocks!
Wow 🤩
WOW, Kenny knows how to rock that guitar. Amazing.
It makes you think ya know, the guitarists that got famous just got lucky, then there's guy like this, so melodic and energetic play, I'm glad he finally got noticed, a fun loving personality too. I hope he produces his own album, I will buy it instantly 😁👌🎉
i saw him play this weekend- he was superb at yarmageddon
this is Mr spankey amazing guitarist
Please consider that guys like him at his age, well even more than 20 yrs older, invented that music. Bill Haley, Elvis, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Lynnrd Skynnrd, The Who, Joe Cocker, Procul Harum, Janis Joplin, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and countless more of those legendary musicians were all born in the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1040’s.
He’s a youngster compared to the Stones, The Who, Queen, etc… 😂
Never too old to rock
Omg this guy is priceless
he is like finally after 50 years. so happy
What a legend!
Превосходная улыбка!🙂
-
Excellent smile!🙂
This just goes to show you that life is an opportunity and regardless of your age you can always reach for it!
LIKE A BOSS!
Nice shredding dude 😊
Yes good luck to him....its never to late to get cracking...
You think he's only just started 😂
why are they all acting like Kenny’s got one foot in grave when he’s only 2 years older than Simon???
Because Simon's got hair
EPIC REVERAND KENNETH PETRIE
Can anyone tell me the name of the song this absolute madman was playing to perfection?
Following
Bump
God bless this father🔥🤘
Of course he can be fantastic on the guitar, why shouldnt he be? The joy in his face doing what he obviously loves.
This show the judges and the stereotypes they try to portray about age is mental illness
I knew as soon as I saw the horizontal pick up he was about to shell down the corn.
Мастерство.не.стареет.!❤❤❤
Did I just see Anthony Hopkins' brother shredding like a god?
well those riffs he made is the same age as him
I know this video is from 22, but I just now saw it. And daaaamn, this guy is amazing!!! Why is he not known all over the world? Like another commenter on here said, I hear some Van Halen influence, which is great! I'd see this guy live any day!
Mh.
Old school baby.
And that is how all of those guys that came in time were maid.
Great soul in those 64 years body.
We don't lose it when we get to a certain age. Being old is hard because all of a sudden you have to fight off all these negative restrictive stereotypes and fight to keep your right to self-determination and independence, in addition to your existing fight for your rights.
Splendide
Kenny Rocks! 🤘😎
how is your Name ? my name is Randy Rhoads and im gonna kick your asses. hell yea, look in his face he had a damn right smile.
Had to look him up thinking he was a studio musician....he's a Reverend!😇❤️🙏😲😲😲
Kenny may be blessed, but a business owner instead of a Reverend. He just used to be called "Reverend" as a kind of "Blues Brothers" joke.
the more you get old the less you care about what people think about you , and the less you care the more you be yourself and unleash your innner power
!!! COOL !!! 😎
Kenny Petrie... Voy a recordar tu nombre como el ejemplo del niño que sigue jugando de manera constante ❤
All that was left of the stadium audience was skeletons, homeboy melted there entire bodies with that shredder 🤣
I've seen him before, brilliant. Remember that Satriani and Steve Vai have the same age.
Rule no. 1 - Never underestimate an old guy with a guitar.
I bet he was a musician when he was young.
Can anyone tell me,what is the name of the song did kenny play,i love it,
The song is Runnin' Down A Dream by Tom Petty
Thanks,
Bet they NEVER expected that!!!
“Ah bless him”? Did she really say that!! Patronising cow. Last I checked most people improve with experience. He could have been playing guitar for over 50 years. Why would you not expect him to be amazing…
From Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - Runnin' Down A Dream. Brilliant. 1:56 is brilliant
His generation bring rock n Roll omg ....
Should of got a golden buzzer.
Haha! You shouldn’t be surprised at anyone who comes from the same village as the Proclaimers and………Jimmy Shand! 😂
Simon:That absolutely Not dreadful
Он просто Бог!!!!
They weren't expecting it... With a guitar case on the stage, a bunch of guitar pedals and a big guitar amplifier with two 12" speakers that was mic'd up to the house PA system and that didn't clue them in?
where is the original uncut audition?
Magnificient, use a Pensa Suhr signature Mk i Think, a big big jump in early sound of Eddie Van Halen or Steve Lukater , because the same years old go!
This guy is fucking talented
