Buddy you have no idea how helpful you are for those of us with kids who want to learn hockey. Growing up in the southern United States in the 70-80s we didn’t have an ice rink within 100miles. Your information has made this adventure much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks!
The stability that comes from bending your knees is absolutely worth it too. I tell everyone that when I’m trying to teach them to skate. You will fall if you’re standing straight up. But bend those knees and you’ll be so much better off.
i play roller derby and something that you're taught from day one is to ALWAYS be in "derby position" (core strong, butt down and knees bent so the tips of your fingers can touch the bottoms of your knee pads). because of this you are not only able to take longer strides, but you are also significantly more sturdy. also, if you do happen to fall, you have a shorter distance to go down and are more likely to fall safer, more controlled and be able to get right back up.

Thanks bro, been watching for two years now and I’ve become a better hockey player
Good tips 😊
Remember the ankles too. If you bend your knees and not your ankles you constantly lose your balance😅😂
I play hockey but i'm confused by what you mean by that?
I love hockey❤
Another tip is bend the ankle. It was a game changer for me.
Great tip
